I stayed at Hotel for six nights, and found it very comfortable and quiet. The staff very courteous and helpful. The location is also convenient to many areas in Ottawa. The room has a an office chair and a lounging chair, but could use a comfy sitting chair.

This lovely old hotel in central Ottawa has undergone a restoration. Our bedroom was modern and well appointed. I like the location and the hotel offered good value for money. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the bed linens and get softer pillows.

The staff were very friendly and courteous and you can't beat the location! However, I chose the Lord Elgin over cheaper options in Ottawa because it is an historic landmark hotel. Sadly, when I got to my room I saw that all the historic charm in the building is now relegated to the lobby. The room was stripped bare of...

The Lord Elgin in my opinion is the best hotel in Ottawa for location, service and price. The newly refurbished rooms are well appointed, roomy, quiet, this with the charm of a heritage building. Frequent bus service is within a two minute walk, from the hotel that will get you to - from the Ottawa airport in 50 minutes with...

Conveniently located in central Ottawa, I stayed here for a conference. Easy check in, nice rooms, well organized for conferences, and excellent, friendly staff. Food and bar service was very good.No issues over the conference. A good hotel to stay at.

I had one of the renovated rooms which was very comfortable. The restaurant served n excellent dinner. The Chowder was delicious with a good variety of seafood and textures. The halibut was beautifully served with some bok choy and blue potatoes. The meal ended with a great cheeseboard: goat cheese, brie , oka and a very good blue cheese. The...

Thank you for the feedback burlingtonbertie2016, it sounds like you had an amazing dinner experience in our Grill 41 restaurant! We've had people from the east coast comment on how great our chowder is. You know you have an amazing recipe when you can win over the people who have mastered the dish! Picked the Lord Elgin for its proximity to tourist sites and the National Arts Center, where we were attending a concert. Staff was very helpful. Room was lovely, comfortable and nicely renovated; loved the bathroom, especially the lighted mirror. Sometimes hotels make it hard for you to see yourself! The restaurant was a little murky and cafeteria-like for the prices,...

Dear Laura A, We love to hear that the Lord Elgin is living up to our patron’s expectations and we plan to keep it that way! One of the big things that we knew we needed in the bathrooms was excellent lighting around the mirror, and I am happy to hear that our guests love our new design. We wanted...

Very nicely refurbished for a hotel built in 1940. Great restaurants only a block away. A short walk to Byward market and parliament buildings. Good breakfast restaurant on the main floor. Reasonably priced with a great view of Lird Elgin park.
