We were there from Monday to Friday of march break. My husband was working and the kids and I were touring around while he was at work. Great location. Close to everything. You can walk everywhere. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows as well. My son had to catch up on a lot of homework while we were there and I was so glad that the lady at the front desk helped us to print a bunch of stuff off for us! Without her help we would have been really unable to complete it! Thanks again sooo much for that! That was going above and beyond! Much appreciated! My daughter enjoyed the pool, I found it too cold unfortunately. Really wish there was a hot tub that was my only thing I missed! Otherwise this hotel had everything I needed! The Hotel asked me if I wouldn't mind them cleaning the room every 2 days for ecological reasons. I said yes but they didn't come even once to clean over 5 days. I had to call the concierge each day to get towels, tissues, toilet paper, coffee pods and had to walk my trash out the room myself. no kidding. Beds were never made etc... I felt they took advantage of me. On the fourth day I asked them to send a cleaning person who came and spent at most 8 minutes in the room and did not change the bed. Is this the newest thing from hotels? Clean your own room. Not impressed. Another thing. The room had an open closet in the bathroom and no other place to hang your jacket and clothes. See other reviewers who commented on this. Who puts a closet in the bathroom? I did not want to hang my clothes 2 feet from the toilet and in the same space as the steam from the shower.…

I have reviewed your comments with both our Guest Services and Housekeeping team as our current housekeeping service standards were not explained to you at check in and the refresh service was not up to par. I reminded them of the importance to take the time to review the houskeeping service in order to avoid guest's disappointment. Housekeeping refresh service is currently set to be offered every second day. On the 7th day a full service including linen replacement is done. Love staying downtown at Courtyard Ottawa Downtown! Conveniently located in the heart of Byward Market, walking distance to everything!!! It’s the perfect location! Also customer service is impeccable! I especially want to mention Simon who has gone above and beyond quickly resolving any issues and making sure our stay is perfect! Love that he acknowledges us every time as return customers! Can’t thank him enough! That’s why we keep coming back!!!

My U18 soccer team stayed Aug 5-7, 2022. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, tidy and clean. The hotel's thick walls made for quiet sleeps. The staff, including M. Kennelly, went above and beyond to make my players' and parents' stay comfortable. I brought two giant lasagnas for a team dinner Saturday which they offered to place in the hotel fridges. Staff loaned several dessert utensils. The breakfast area worked beautifully for the evening team meal. The location makes for a fun time in Ottawa, with Byward Market cafés and stores and the Parliament buildings a short walk away. Many tournaments we've stayed in suburbia. Staying in a vibrant part of downtown was more fun for everyone.

Third time staying here when passing through on a Motorcycle trip. Clean modern rooms, underground parking available, and in an ideal location for checking out byward market. The front desk staff here is also absolutely fantastic. Friendly, helpful, energetic, and just all around good hard working young people. Great work. Will be back.

This hotel is ideally situated as near everything. Furthermore, it is in the bars and restaurants area as well as the Byward Market. So it could be potentially noisy but we did not have any problems. The staff was superb, really helpful and friendly. We were 1/2 way through our 3 weeks holiday, and we really enjoyed the laundry facilities. That was very welcome. We stayed 4 nights. The room was specious. It was a renovated room with a huge shower cubicle. The ground floor is a bit dated, but a refurbishment is in the pipeline The slight issue I have is going to a hotel means having my room done etc.. all was on request as well as towels and coffee. It is fine however I wonder if this is not working in the favour of Airbnb.

My top priority was the Byward Market location and on site parking. This hotel even offers underground parking. We were driving better than 10 hours and the last thing I wanted to do was drag luggage from an offsite parking location to the hotel. Parking is very reasonable ($22 CDN per day). The location is great--we walked everywhere! Two complaints: our room was located on the first floor and it was incredibly noisy (we were there on a Saturday evening). We could hear every bit of street noise (live music, cars, etc.). I realize this is not the hotel's fault, but if you are a light sleeper, make sure you ask for a room higher up! TV did not work and nobody could fix it. Not the worse thing of course, but we wanted to watch the Stanley Cup finals, and that was a struggle. My family chose this hotel because it's in the Byward Market and very affordable. The hotel is not only close to the Market, but also walking distance to Rideau Centre shopping mall, and many attractions like Parliament Hill. Yes, there are homeless people wandering around, but we felt safe at our hotel. They have a key card system for the front entrance and parking garage. We were impressed with how clean the hotel is with very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable facing the courtyard so we never had any issues with noise. We also spent a lot of time at the pool and got coffee every morning from the bistro downstairs. I have zero complaints and only compliments for this hotel.

I would have given 5 stars because 1. Our room was newly renovated and very spacious and comfortable 2. The location was excellent and walking distance from major attractions 3. The customer service was excellent. We asked for a quiet room and they made sure our floor and location was (supposed to be) quiet. I only gave 3 stars because: 1. The room doors were slamming during the night. I don’t know if this was due to the rude guests or it’s a construction defect. 2. People talking loudly in the hallways on both nights of our stay, keeping me awake from 2-4am. 3. We could hear the family in the next room at any time. 4. There were no extra blankets, pillows or garbage bags in the room. If the rates were not so high I would probably have just accepted this as ‘you get what you pay for’. Our friends stayed at the Andaz right across the street for only slightly more. They had a quiet room and a lovely OPEN full service coffee shop with delicious breakfasts. Marriott can certainly do better.…
