We stayed at the Charles Inn for two nights for a romantic getaway. The room was very disappointing. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever rented, even for European hotels. The bed occupied nearly the entire room and the tiny bathroom had only a shower and a single pedestal sink and a toilet. The room looked out onto a covered second floor patio that that had recently been used for a group event and had not been cleaned up of empty glasses, dirty tablecloths and some soiled plates. I complained and the mess was cleaned up but there was no offer to upgrade our room or offer a discount. There are many inns in Niagara on the Lake, all of which are superior in quality at a similar price and several which include breakfast. I cannot recommend this inn and will never stay here again.

We stayed at the Charles Inn last August and found it to be the perfect, intimate hotel for our lifestyle. Very clean, classic architecture which I love, extremely comfortable rooms & beds and a touch of luxury with a hint of yesteryear. We loved it before and we loved it for Christmas. We booked the Winter Wonderland package. Our room was amazing, especially with the views of Lake Ontario & the cozy, brick gas fireplace casting a warm, ambient glow. The staff, including the wait staff (our server Darren), and front desk staff were friendly and attentive. Our Christmas dinner in the Hob Nob was second to none. Thank you Jennifer Dickson for your wonderful surprise. I will send you a personal note, your gift was unexpected & greatly appreciated. Can't wait to come back again in the summer. The Charles Inn is our new "go to" place when we travel to NOTL. With its perfect location, personal attention to detail and super staff, do yourself a favour and book your getaway now. I know we will be back.

This was our Christmas present to each other. The room was really pleasant and comfortable. The service in all areas was excellent. We enjoyed a breakfast and dinner at the hotel and found the food to be 5 star. The staff were very helpful in suggesting things to do and see. We will definitely return.

My friends Chris, Tara and their daughter invited me to attend the play Scroodge and have a lunch at the Charles Hotel. This historic building impressed me by its setting, by the quiet vista . The meal was very tasteful and the staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend to young and old.

There was Zero customer service by reception desk on the 20th of November, 2021 (Sid took over the shift after her (unfortunately didn’t write down the name) Sid was pleasant to deal with and he tried to help me in moving rooms- he heard the worker the way she was talking to me. ) I have a problem of not being able to sleep if the windows are not opened and I asked to be moved to another room and she said nothing was available and if you don’t like it you can go to Holiday Inn . I asked for the manager and was told by her that manager is on vacation and during vacation , she cannot be disturbed. I asked to speak to someone higher and was told by this woman< Sorry nothing I can do for you and move out if you don't like what I am saying. I asked her if she could possibly ask one of he guest who hasn't moved in yet to switch with me and I'll pay the difference in price. She said NO. She said for safely reasons all windows are locked,- I went to other hotels (which had no availability on Queen street – and every single room has their windows open) - so I am not sure what is the real reason for this but during covid, shouldn't the windows be open to freshen up the room especially moving in after someone just stayed there? . . She completely ruined our experience at your hotel. Thank you
