It was our 3rd time in the vineyards for my boyfriend and I this Summer and we really enjoyed it. The owner was very kind and responsive to our needs throughout the stay. The breakfasts were also delicious! We found the location to be perfect because we were close to the Two-Sisters, Peller Estates and Jackson Triggs wineries (around 5 min drive or 10-15 min by bicycle). We were also close to downtown where we could eat or walk around the little shops. Thanks again to our host who was an amazing and generous woman!

Uneven: Clean home and comfy bed, but not relaxing. Checking the 1- and 2-star reviews gives a fuller picture of the experience. I wish we had before booking! Especially for first-time B-and-B-ers, I'd advise elsewhere, as this is not representative of the form. Front-of-the-house help would help!

We recently stayed for two nights at John’s Gate Gourmet Bed and Breakfast, and cannot speak highly enough about this place! From the moment we entered this picturesque house with its wrap around porch, and were greeted by our host, Meheroo, we knew we had found something very special! Meheroo is friendly, charming, helpful and has a wealth of knowledge about Niagara on the Lake. Her attention to detail is second to none, and all the extra little touches made everything so welcoming. Tea, coffee, and snacks are provided 24/7 in the exquisitely decorated guest lounge/dining room. The bedroom and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. Meheroo had even left a chocolate on each of our bedside tables, as well as fresh drinking water. The breakfasts were truly ‘gourmet’ and absolutely delicious. We were even treated to a traditional Indian breakfast on the second morning, which was to die for. The table settings were beautiful and Meheroo treated us like royalty! After years of staying at various other B &B’s, we can finally say that this is the only one we will be returning to on our future visits to NOTL.

I hesitate to write this review because this jewel is so delightful that I am inclined not to share. Our party of two couples spent two nights with Meheroo, the uniquely wonderful proprietress of John's Gate, a way-beyond-the-ordinary B&B in the lovely town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our rooms were comfortable and well appointed, and the gourmet breakfasts would make luxury cruise ships' chefs jealous. The location works well for touring the Falls and other attractions nearby, about which Meheroo is a wealth of useful data. If you are fortunate enough to find a vacancy, seize the day!

Meheroo's beautiful home is close to the Shaw Festival. My room was immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfasts -- I had four of them -- are of gourmet quality. And Meheroo herself is a treasure: personable, extremely solicitous of her guests, and efficient. All at a price that tops the competition by a mile. This is THE place to be in Niagara on the Lake!
