I'd like to start by stating the fact that my girlfriend and I are a young couple in our mid-twenties going through university so money is tight. We booked a room at Embassy Suites through their Sleep Cheap promotion. Upon arriving to the hotel we were informed that parking would be about 30 blocks offsite and that we would have to take a shuttle to get to the car. If you didn't want to shuttle to your car, you had to pay $60 a night to park at the hotel. I was very taken aback by this because I had not received any communication prior to arriving at the hotel that this would be the case. My problem didn't arise with the policy itself but the lack of communication to guests. There were tons of people standing outside complaining out loud beside me about the lack of information given to us all. We talked to a parking attendant outside who said "If it were up to me I would let you all park here at the hotel for free." clearly the hotel owners didn't feel the same way towards their guests. When we eventually got to the front desk, the people there heard our concerns but couldn't do anything for us. Rather than talk to a manager we chose to forget about the bad situation and suck it up to enjoy the rest of our trip. Then, later that night when ordering dinner, we realized there was a $250 charge to my credit card from Embassy Suites. I was never informed that I would be charged anything except the fee for the room ($45/night +taxes sleep cheap). So upon seeing the charge I figured it was a mistake. When I went down to the front desk to inquire, I was greeted by who I assume is the night time manager, Neo. When I asked why the $250 was there Neo informed me (in a very short way) that it is policy to charge the $250 as a room deposit. Now to be clear, I have no problem with the policy itself, just the fact that I wasn't told about the charge before it went on my card. I don't think it's right for companies to blindly charge your credit card, deposit or not. I asked Neo why I was never told about the deposit to which he stated it was "common sense" that there would be a deposit on a hotel room. I don't book hotel rooms often (as stated I am a broke student) but in my experience they take your card number and charge only if there are damages in the room. Either way, it wasn't common sense to me, which I calmly communicated to Neo which was met with a condescending response that it was common sense and that I should've just known. All I wanted was acknowledgement of my concern and for Neo to explain to me why this room deposit isn't more clearly stated in the booking process and I was met with condescending hostility. That's not proper customer service and if I were to talk to customers in the same manner Neo talked to me, I would be out of a job. This experience with the front desk caused me and my girlfriend a lot of stress and The two lacks of communication on the hotel's part are the reason for my terrible review but honestly mainly the experience with Neo.

Hotel's Favorite
We visited the falls in the fall for a great combination of trees changing color and the amazing falls. The "falls view" room was a great choice. The hotel amenities had everything you could want or need. My wife appreciated that there was a Starbucks onsite also. The room was excellent and the view was just as advertised.

Enjoyed my stay at my room here with the amenities but staff was terrible. I heard multiple interactions with customers that was making me cringe with the way these employees were speaking to CUSTOMERS,, Hotel was beautiful, staff clearly needs training or replacements. In particular, employee Neo was very hard to deal with.

Stayed at Embassy Suites for a couples weekend away. Will share my entire experience, however it was mainly an interaction with a staff member that prompted me to write this review. When we arrived we were disappointed upon check-in when we were told that parking our car would cost an additional $60 per night (so $120 for the weekend). I would assume to most people, as it was for us, this is a hefty expense you would like to know about PRIOR to your stay. A simple check-in e-mail, notify by phone call when we booked the room.. ANYTHING to inform us that if we'd like to park our car onsite, be prepared to pay. The hotel does offer a shuttle service to take you to and from your car for $35 which is what we choose to do. Considering the current nature of this pandemic, getting on and off a unsanitized bus between visitors was unnerving. Some guests were refusing to wear masks and shouting at the bus drivers, they had COVID protocol screaming the speakers.. it was honestly a terrible way to start the weekend. Again, had we been told prior we would have been more prepared with winter jackets etc. After check-in, we brushed it off and all seemed ok until we went to order dinner. When going to pay for the bill, we noticed that there had been a $250 hotel deposit fee (per night!) that was to be charged to our credit card.. again, we were NOT told. When we checked in the gentleman asked for our credit card, but we assumed this was to keep the card on file in case something happened with the room - that was the norm for hotels with what I had previously experienced. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE never at any point did the gentleman inform us that he would be charging our card. We went down to front dest to inquire about this charge, as this was something we hadn't experienced before, and were very disappointed we were not told. We were met by an employee "Neo" who displayed the worst example of customer service I have ever seen. We asked to speak to anyone else apart from him to which he told us there was no one else we could speak too. His response to us was to downplay our concerns and honestly treat us like we were not worth his time. His very aggressive response was "well, it's common sense because that's the norm." Whether or not thats the norm.. YOU STILL HAVE TO TELL CUSTOMERS WHEN YOU ARE CHARGING THEM FOR SOMETHING? This was not the norm for us. I had never been charged BEFORE breaking something in a hotel? Now, let me clear, I'm not complaining that this is the policy. I have no problem with the policy. I'm upset that we were not told, and when expressing our discomfort at that fact we were met with such hostility I can't even imagine. Is that how staff is trained to deal with questions? You are a HOTEL... is it not assumed you'd be dealing with all different sorts of people with different backgrounds and experiences that you'd have to make sure you make YOUR policies known? When I was working customer service, if I had spoken to anyone HALF as badly as Neo spoke to me I probably wouldn't have a job. Lack of communication was entire problem we had with the situation. Had we known we would have given a different credit card. Had were known we would have been prepared at dinner and not embarrassed. Most importantly, I could not believe the way this particular employee Neo thought it was okay to treat not only a paying customer, but a person in general. I've never written a review before (quite frankly, I don't have the time and I've never been a 'Karen') but this terrible display of customer service was most certainly worth my time with making this account. Very very disappointed.

Nice location and fantastic views on the amazing Niagara Falls (both of them) at the 41th floor! But, some remarks: - horrible quality of the “sleeping”couch, and when you ask for an extra mattress or blankets it’s not possible; - the breakfast in Covid time should be continental and is placed in front of the door, which is literally a bottle of water/juice/Apple and a prepackaged muffin. So, for this price, you pay only for the view and unfortunately nothing more!
