Neat hotel experience. The rooms are quite small and pretty basic, even in the penthouse, where we stayed. Parking is $35 and it's offsite, about a 5 minute shuttle ride. Avoid the onsite IHOP restaurant; the prices are very high and the quality is only OK.
Arriving to The Tower Hotel there is a small driveway for you to temporarily park while you check in. Staff was very nice and answered any questions we had. We were then given directions on how to get to their self parking lot which they share with the Embassy Suites next door. It's a 3 block drive but a shuttle is then called to pick you up to get you back to the hotel. They are very on top of it and we waited less than a minute every time. At the time we went it was 35 + tax per night to park in the lot. We stayed on the 28th floor which included big windows with a view. We got lucky and had a half city and half American Falls view. Both views were breathtaking, especially to wake up to. It's a small room but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, we slept great. Bathroom also has a view. Shower head was great with many stream options. Tub was huge with a jet stream option. Unfortunately, ours did not work but the tub is extremely spacious and comfortable to sit in. Our only 2 cons were 1. The room didn't look as clean as we would've liked but it wasn't disgusting either. The carpets could definitely use an update or deep clean 2. There was something going on with the thermostat. We set it at the lowest setting possible and the room wouldn't go below 74 degrees which with the warmth and humidity of Niagara can be uncomfortable. When I did bring this issue up at checkout, the staff was gracious in receiving this concern and they comped a night of parking for the inconvenience, which we were appreciative of. Overall, it was a great stay and we were pleasantly surprised considering the ratings we saw for them. The Tower Hotel is not a bad choice and very convenient with pricing and location.…
5 stars for awesome views, and for Bonnie, who is so helpful and such a pleasure to speak with. Thanks Bonnie! The hotel is decent, offers a comfortable bed, and a normal size room. The highlight of this hotel is to book a room that has unobstructed views of both the falls!
Clean room, near many stores, free parking, noisy front door that sticks when opening, noisy floors made of wood, no room cleaning during stay. Scam me from returning full deposit of $250.00 only received $195.07. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Had 2 falls view rooms with my colleague this weekend. I disagree with other reviews saying that rooms are terrible. My room was very clean. The view was outstanding, really the feeling is it is almost enough to stay in the room to see the falls. The parking was a little complicated but both nights they parked us in nearby Embassy Suites. The noise of the room was a little problem mostly because of the fridge. The second night I unplugged it. But again I do not see why to pay twice more for the same view at nearby Embassy Suites vs this hotel.
We had an awesome time at this hotel. Value was amazing. We got coupons for the keg nextdoor at the Embassy as well and it was a super visit. Staff was knowledgable, friendly and kind. The bed was.so comfy and the room was clean and well stocked. No complaints at all. Super location. We will be back.
I booked this hotel on a lark & curiosity as I knew it as the Minolta Tower as a kid growing up. I also figured it would have spectacular views. In this area, the hotel did not disappoint. Though we did not have a full view of the Falls we could see the top and overlooking the river and city. The lobby is beautiful. Parking is offsite but not too far away and a shuttle is provided. The rooms are very small due to the shape of the building but the view more than makes up for that and we were literally only in our room to sleep. Due to the beauty of the lobby I was expecting/hoping the rooms would be similar in elegance, however they are dated and plain… especially the bathroom. Our toilet stopped flushing around 3am. We did not call down because we did not want a repairman in the room at that hour. The lobby gave us a discount on parking for the hassle of the toilet, but really I feel parking should have been completely comped for that. There were stains on the walls that could have been cleaned off. The bed, however, was very comfortable. The TV is an awkward spot, however that is due to the room shape and could not be helped. We got a decent price on the room, I satisfied my curiosity but I likely would explore other options the next time I am in Niagara.…
We had a city view room with a king bed, which was fine. Nothing special but also not terrible by any means. The bed was extremely comfortable. You also couldn’t really hear anything from the other rooms which was nice. The staff were all very helpful. The only thing I’d really complain about is the parking situation.
Got an amazing deal for a couple at the end of summer. Got the king room with a view of the city and was still great for what we paid for. The staff there is fairly friendly except the man that works the desk late at night that give us a little bit of a hard time for checking in later. The shuttle service is Great! super well run and definitely worth the extra cost for a few nights. The only thing I would not recommend is the IHOP on site which is extremely expensive and the elevators to get to it is kind of a pain.
Paid $380 for a tiny hotel room for our anniversary. There was nothing special about the room and it needs updates. The hotel room looked nothing like the pictures the hotel advertised on their website. The pictures made it seem all romantic and fancy, but it definitely was not. The $380 we paid was also only for a city view, I couldn’t imagine the price you would have to pay for a falls view room. The parking is $40 a day and the parking lot is over 3 blocks from the hotel. Luckily they had a shuttle service. You are supposed to receive a $15 IHOP discount and a $30 discount for the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse (which is at the top of the tower hotel) upon check in. The front desk only gave us the IHOP discount. We had to go back to the front desk and ask them for the steakhouse coupon. We went to the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse for our anniversary thinking we would get all dressed up, enjoy a fancy dinner, and have a view of the falls while eating. But, we were very wrong! When we first arrived, we were dressed all fancy thinking the place would be classy based on the pictures online, but half of the people dining in the restaurant were just wearing casual shorts and t-shirts. We immediately felt overdressed and awkward. We then were seated at the FAR END of the restaurant AWAY from the falls. We could not even see the falls from our table. Our view was of mossy roof tops and spiders in the window. We asked to move to a table that we could visually see was empty (but had dirty dishes on the table), but the lady told us that there were no tables over there that were available even though we could see the table open. She walked away and then we saw her cleaning off the table. About 5 minutes later, a couple walks in the restaurant and she seated them at that exact same table. We couldn’t believe it. We were so disappointed we didn’t have the Fallsview that was advertised on the website. The only reason we chose the restaurant was to have a nice view while eating dinner. In fact, we called several times the months leading up to our visit and confirmed our reservation and kept mentioning that we were celebrating an anniversary so we wanted a window seat with a Fallsview. They claimed that they made not of that in our reservation, but they clearly didn’t considering we were seated at the furthest table from the falls! (Literally! Right by the kitchen!) The food was a whole different disappointment …. $80 per person for a four course meal, sounded like a good idea to us. We both received a salad as a starter (which was your only choice and you didn’t get a choice of different types or salad either). The salad was 90% cherry tomatoes with a few pieces of lettuce, it had olive oil and that was it!! Plain, boring, disgusting salad. I didn’t even eat mine. Next course was an appetizer, there were only 3 choices and we chose the calamari and the Brie. Calamari tasted old like it was sitting out on their counter all day and then they just microwaved it. The Brie was terrible. You receive about 6 tiny crackers and a giant block of Brie that you will never be able to finish with the amount of crackers they give you. The jelly/honey mixture was gross. It tasted like store bought jam for toast. The next course, our dinner. We ordered the steak and the salmon. You would think as a steakhouse they would be able to make steak. WRONG. The steak was hard, overdone, chewy, and flavourless. The gravy that came with it tasted stale. The salmon was the worst salmon I had ever had… in fact I make better salmon and I buy my salmon frozen at Costco …. The salmon was over cooked and had a very odd fishy taste to it. My stomach instantly started to hurt, which made me think the salmon might have been old considering the odd fishy taste (i know fish is fishy, I’ve been eating salmon my whole life, but this had a rotten fishy taste). The rice that came with the fish just looked like plain white rice with giant chunks of mushroom in them (oh and they don’t tell you on the menu what sides come with your meals). When I first took a bite of the rice, I was so shocked and disgusted. It tasted like a bowl of rotten shrimp. It had the strongest fishy taste (worse than the salmon) and did not taste like rice at all. I have no idea what they did to the rice or what they put in the rice, but I couldn’t even eat any of it. My partner also tried it, and he will eat anything, he couldn’t even eat it. The dinner also came with uncooked asparagus. The last course was dessert. The cheescake was alright, but again it had like store bought jam or something on top that just ruined the flavour. As we were eating our dessert, the waiter asked if we wanted to move to a table that had opened up with a view of the falls. We laughed, we were already finished our meal and NOW you can accommodate us? Thanks for helping us celebrate our anniversary… the dinner was over $250 for 2 people, with tax, and a 15% tip (didn’t want to punish the waiter for the crappy view and terrible food). On the way out, we also found out that the steakhouse is an IHOP during the day, they take down all the IHOP signs and turn it into a steakhouse at night… my guess is that the same cooks who make pancakes in the morning also make your steak and salmon because they clearly do not know how to cook! Pathetic. Was a joke. I would NEVER go back and I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. Later that night, we were actually hungry because we couldn’t finish our dinner. So, we ended up going to My Cousin Vinny’s down the street from the hotel and it was AMAZING. There was live music, we split an amazing pizza and had a few strawberry daiquiris. We will be leaving them a great review. We should have just gone there for our anniversary dinner! In the morning, we decided to go to the IHOP for breakfast because it was conveniently in the hotel and we had the $15 coupon. When we arrived (in casual clothing this time) we were seated at the EXACT same table as the night before with NO view of the falls yet again. It was a joke. When we looked at the menu, they were charging $30 for 4 pancakes. We instantly got up and left and went to Tim Horton’s. I would give the hotel a 1 only because they had a shuttle service to the very far parking lot. The steakhouse was a 0. No view, terrible food, not a fancy restaurant they advertised online. Just terrible. This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. We would never go back and we will never recommend this hotel or restaurant to anyone. SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED.…
