We arrived in niagara early and went to check in. On.parking I noticed that the pool deck was packed...like no room to walk and alot of people were smoking. The pool area is TINY so alot of people smoking in that area is pretty gross. On check in I asked if they allowed this in their pool area as I will want to bring my kids down and refuse with all the smoking going on. They assured me that they are a non smoking hotel. Okay, not what I'm seeing but ok. I returned back to the hotel to get my keys around 5pm...same group of 20 somethings taking over the pool with smoking and drinking. I had requested a balcony as my son has asthma...when I went up to the room it REEKED of smoke and when I opened the balcony door the entire balcony was covered in cigarette butts. The manager was really nice and refunded my money with no issues and we went and stayed at skyline inn which is way more appropriate for families.

There was a big gap between our expectations and the reality. The double room was too small and the bed as well - when I was trying to upgrade my room (for additional fee) I was told that there is no availability at all !!!!! From the empty corridors that I have seen I don’t think that I was given the right answer. The air conditioners was noisy , one lamp only on one side of the bed !!! No cabinets for our belongings???!!!! We were located at the far edge of the building and the internet connections was poor !!! There was a strong smell of moss all over the room. I have picked up the hotel because of the Ramada standards ( I am traveling a lot during my work and from time to time I am using Ramada chain of hotels ) This hotel is far and behind the standards that I have seen in Ramada Chain. The price that I paid 200 $ can not be considered as a cheap deal . Bottom line never again for me !!! and I am strongly recommend to look for other alternatives Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about the hotel.

One of these incidents alone is fine but together they show a pattern of poor service and consideration for guests. Added July 6th I received no calls from anyone on July 5th . On the morning of July 6th I realized that my purple london fog jacket and my pink child's jacket was left in the closet at the hotel. I am not surprised I didn't receive a phone call since I doubt the cleaning staff checks in the closet or if they did that I would receive a helpful call to inform me of the items. I've left a message after finding the hotel manager's number myself with no help from the front desk who've I've called countless times. Nicki Winger I have the authorization to offer the complimentary stay.  However, you can contact Wyndham Support at 1-800-402-9832… July 8th I spent 40 minutes on the phone with the complaints department. I was informed to mail a prepaid envelope to have my jackets retrieved and that they would like to have Nicki resolve this matter on her own. Nicki would have until Friday July 12th and then at that point they would take over the matter. I received no contact from Nicki or Wyndham Support as of July 18th. July 18th Another 38 minute phone call. I've called Wyndham Support. After my phone call with Wyndham on July 8th there seems to be that they only emailed Nicki the report but no one personally spoke with her as I was informed would be done on July 8th. My report was emailed to her. I was just told by the customer representative at Wyndham that Nicki never knew that I had left a message with her front desk. I sent Nicki an email with all of my complaints. This means she never read my email and gave my complaint its due.

We had a nice time with my family at the Ramada plaza and we felt relaxed and not rushed during our whole stay. The kids enjoyed the big rooms and the hotel has a nice layout. We were able to go swimming and the pools were very clean. Our room smelled clean and we enjoyed our stay. We are looking to come back again next year.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while we were visiting with friends in Welland and while the room was spacious, it was outdated. The brown leather chairs were very visibly peeling, there was rust at the corner of the windows and I was a little afraid to walk barefoot on the carpet. There are virtually no plugs for devices. The room didn't have a tub at all, but the shower was actually quite large with three different shower nozzles - which would have been great ... if the water hadn't taken 10 minutes to actually warm up. It took so long to get warm that I actually called down to the front desk thinking we didn't have any hot water at all. Thankfully, it started up after some time - but that's a HUGE waste of water and I felt pretty bad about it. :( The wi-fi service was basically non-existent. It kept going in and out. Watching or listening to anything streaming on a device was virtually impossible. The staff at the front desk seemed more than a little put upon and even a little bored when asked about this (and when they heard what I was saying, the couple checking out behind me mentioned they'd had the same problems - so these aren't isolated incidents). Wouldn't surprise me if the front desk staff had been fielding such complaints for months (or longer?). NOT a good experience. They charged $20 extra per night to park in their open parking lot (no mention of this on their website. That was a nice little "surprise" when we arrived to check in) plus an extra $9.95 a night for another tax of some kind.... So $70 or so was tacked on to our bill that we hadn't been expecting. This hotel is WAY overpriced for what it is. Those staying there in the summer months are gouged because of its location. **THIS is why people use AirBnB!** We will definitely not be back. And we'll warn anyone else about it that we can. This property REALLY needs some TLC - and stat! :(
