...This hotel was part of a tour we booked (next stop New York with an overnight hotel stay before transferring to a cruise along the New England coastline). We walked in the room on the 5th floor to the amazing sight of Niagara Falls - we had not expected to see the Falls from our room... The hotel is very good, and particularly well located... Something I didn't like was the paper cups provided in the room - a couple of normal cups or mugs would have been so much better...

The view is amazing but that’s all you are paying for if you upgrade to a fallsview room... ...Expedia listed the room as having a view... Thirty minutes into unpacking, another hotel guest uses a key card to enter our room!... He was assigned room 512 (ours) after requesting a room change due to cockroaches!... We eventually came to discover our own roach, so I don't think he would have liked room 512, either... I have never left a hotel review before, but will do so on every platform I can think of in this case... They flatly refused to give us a rate adjustment for the other three nights spent in a room with no view...

The room was nice, however, I paid a lot of money for a view of Niagara Falls ... When I asked to be moved, the hotel indicated that no other rooms were available... I didn't even receive an apology for the misrepresentation of the view from the room... ...Nonetheless there were a couple of issues with the room which were disappointing. The category of room was to be queen superior Fallsview but the bar above the window ( which didn't open) was a bad obstruction to the view if sitting down to enjoy it... I don't recall these issues on our last trip pre covid so perhaps the room category?... That should be stated clearly in description as a Fallsview room should have a full one... Finally there was a minor issue as there was no body lotion in the room...

...The hotel itself is nice, nothing spectacular. The room was clean, and the bathroom is a nice size... The temperature in our room was HOT, 76 degrees Fahrenheit... We reached out to the front desk and advised us that ALL of the guest rooms are on 1 system and set on heat... There are no windows that can be opened in the room so they told us that there only suggestion was to turn off the thermostat and hope that the room would possibly cool down... That night was miserable because even with the heat off the room did not cool down... They helpd a little bit, but we have been so uncomfortable the past 4 days and the room temp has only gone down to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, so after 4 days here, it's still hot and stuffy...

We just finished our stay, 2 nights in the same time of room as we did before, Superior Queen (2 beds) on a high floor with a view of the Falls... There was not time for a new guest to check in, so...at best the cleaning staff is so bad they missed a pair of boots in a room, or at worst, someone took them... ...Yes this hotel has great views and is within walking distance of the falls and restaurants... It may sound strange to you but I was not about to wash myself with the big towels in the room... We had a partial view of the falls but that's ok because I had reserved the CAA no view room... When I advised the front desk of our early departure, the young lady took my room number and she never advised me that they would still charge me for the room, the service fee for visitors and the municipal accommodation tax!... That is quite a negative surprise especially that like everyone, we wanted to encourage the Ontario accomodations and tourism... I am sure that they were able to give our room to another guest as it is always busy... Please read carefully the small prints when you book your rooms and carefully check your invoice when you receive it...

...The spa, which features prominently on the website is an additional cost; with highly i flared prices compared to southern Ontario high end spas... Just to use their hot tub it’s $60... The queue at Starbucks is quite long and the prices inflated relative to local prices…(it’s not a corporate store so can’t earn Stars) and two grande coffees and two breakfast sandwiches cost $43... Basic cable tv was on offer and lots of charging ports which was nice…my hubby brought his laptop to do a bit of work and the little chair and table overlooking the falls was a nice little spot for him to work...

...The view of the Falls is great, that is why you spend so much to stay here... Marriott needs to hire and train enough staff and invest in cleaning the place!... ...Very congested outside at the car drive in area where you can opt for valet parking (59$ plus taxes a night) or self parking about 5 minutes walk away (39$ plus taxes takes it to 47.55$ a night)... We were surprised a few days later to see on our card statement a cost we weren’t expecting... We had been charged correctly for the car park, but also had the following charges: (1) 2 nights ‘Destination Affinity Fee’ plus taxes... No other hotels on our Canada trip had charged us this, and still unclear why we had this to pay... The response from Marriott suggests that this is for WiFi access, 2 samples of wine or beer, spirits tasting at Niagara Distillery and beers sampling from Niagara brewery, etc etc...

It's embarrassing to admit how much time I spent researching the best hotel with a falls view that wouldn't make me bankrupt... I did not pay for a high floor, which probably worked out in our favor, as the smoke from the Canadian wildfires was a bit thick when we arrived, and I could still see the falls clearly from our window, as well as the fireworks show later that evening...

...The reasons that this property did not get a 5-star rating from me is: hotel parking isn't cheap ($39 self-park, $59 valet, per night), and the lot is still a distance from the hotel. After a few calls and e-mails with the hotel, I was not able to get reimbursed (except for $54,06 for amenity fee charges) but it is sadly my lost... Charged us $15.95 plus HST per day for Wi-Fi (which is usually free to guests), a bottle of water, a coupon for beer, wine tasting in Clifton Hill and a wego pass... but we do not drink alcohol nor did we take the bus...

This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had, and we travel a lot... We were offered free parking for our inconvenience, and received ONE out of four nights in a room with a view... The desk manager that I spoke with personally was amazing and did her best to help us... The Guest Services Manager (Jackie) I emailed with, who was at first very kind and professional, was absolutely done communicating with me once I mentioned booking through Expedia, as if it is Expedia's responsibility for us not getting what we paid for...

...Very congested outside at the car drive in area where you can opt for valet parking (59$ plus taxes a night) or self parking about 5 minutes walk away (39$ plus taxes takes it to 47.55$ a night)... The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and modern ensuite facilities... We dined in for breakfast and dinner and all perfectly good quality with attentive staff serving... As checkout was busy it was agreed that our bill would be emailed to us... Having not received the email that was supposed to have been sent at the time, it was chased up and eventually sent onto us... Surprised at this – our recollection of this is that we were handed a leaflet at check-in where these offers were being provided free... We have further asked Marriott for clarification but they are now not responding to our email... (2) Tip money that we had already paid in cash at the time to the server!...

The hotel also provides Wego passes, which we didn't use, but I'm sure that was a nice perk for many... Fortunately, my son was happy to wait in the line in exchange for a Frappuccino!... She was more than helpful in not only resolving a potentially horrible booking glitch ( which in less talaented hands could have turned out badly)... ...It seems to be sliding, and relative to the other hotels we’ve stayed at this one is best for a view of the falls, but falls short in most other ways... Parking is valet and offsite like all the others in the area... The gym equipment is very good standard fitness club level... Just to use their hot tub it’s $60... (And the website shows a lovely outdoor spa with a wooden fence de prayed with white lights at night…ki da funny... The shampoo in the shower was nice but the body wash dispenser was broken so I can’t comment... Basic cable tv was on offer and lots of charging ports which was nice…my hubby brought his laptop to do a bit of work and the little chair and table overlooking the falls was a nice little spot for him to work... ...Yes this hotel has great views and is within walking distance of the falls and restaurants... It may sound strange to you but I was not about to wash myself with the big towels in the room... I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience I recently had during my stay at the Niagara Fallsview and Spa Marriott on [dates of stay]. Failure to Make Up Room: Upon checking into our first room, we were dismayed to find that it had not been cleaned or made up. This oversight was not only inconvenient but also did not align with the standard of service expected from a reputable establishment like yours. Privacy Invasion: On a separate occasion, a staff member knocked on our door to check on the room's condition. To our surprise, they entered the room within a second, not allowing sufficient time for us to respond. This invasion of privacy was both disconcerting and unprofessional. Vehicle Break-In: Regrettably, my vehicle was broken into during my stay at your hotel. This incident was distressing, and I expected a prompt and concerned response from the hotel staff. Unfortunately, no one followed up on the matter, leaving me stranded in the Niagara Falls area for the entire afternoon. Billing and Parking Fee Issues: Despite being promised a waiver of the parking fee due to the initial oversight with our room, the billing statement provided by Marriott still indicated the charge. When I brought this to the attention of your staff, I found their response lacking in sincerity. Resolving this issue promptly is crucial to my satisfaction as a guest. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur, but the lack of appropriate responses and resolution has left me deeply dissatisfied. Ok. Couple of things: 1. The parking is REALLY far. If you self park, you would need to walk for about 10 minutes. If you can, get the Marriot on the falls hotel instead where the parking is right next to it. 2. The facility is old. The ventilation was blowing cold air even I switched to warmer the maximum. The hotel staff said both cold and hot air functions were completely off. In freezing late November! 3. If you wanted to heat up food, there is only one VERY old microwave at the lobby (hidden in a small closet room). I should have done reviews before I booked here .

So impressed with the staff. Arrived to stay a night for our 35 I am year anniversary. The front desk personal upgraded us plus sent wine and cake to our room with a beautiful hand written note. The room had all the amenities from hairdryer to safe to fridge coffee for the morning, water bottles, fluffy pillows and comfortable bedding plus stunning view of Niagara Falls.

This hotel is far too expensive in terms of parking, as well as their room service. It’s abysmal the pricing offered. The rooms may appear modestly priced but the value appears to be regained through the overpricing of basic amenities. If you value your wallet, I’d stay away from this location. As an example, a plate of fries and two alcoholic drinks cost over a hundred dollars. This is the kind of pricing you’d expect on mars.

Dear Josh K, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of our hotel. We were disappointed that you felt the price did not meet your expectations. As with most cities, certain times of the year are busier and command higher rates; however, we do make every effort to be priced competitively. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest, and we hope to do so again soon. Zach Guest Services

Wonderful stay!! Amazing views from the bedroom that I never tired of watching. Room very spacious and clean. Lovely comfortable bed and pillows, complimentary water and coffee every day. Good powerful shower and complementary toiletries. Didn’t use the spa or restaurant so cannot comment but would definitely return. Thank you for a fab stay.

A well managed hotel in a good location, but the real icing on the cake was the view from our room. I know the hotel is called Fallsview, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite so fantastic. Lovely stay. Can't comment on food or drink as we ate out, but the room was clean and comfortable with comfortable chairs by the window so we could enjoy the falls and then the fireworks at 10pm every night.

Make sure you ask for the local fee to be removed on all bills if you want to. Niagara add a local tax to everything but it can be requested to be removed. We visited this hotel for our night at Niagara Falls (Canada side) and had an amazing time. Just be careful when booking your room. We did it direct via their website and as we knew we were only staying 1 night we purposely booked a high floor on the Riverview (it said floors 9-12 when we were making the booking). Closer to the time of going, the hotel they said they didn’t allow bookings of this nature and they claimed to know nothing about high floor bookings on Riverview. After several emails back and forth, they agreed that closer to the check in time if we emailed, they’d put a note on the booking to request a high room. It all ended up ok and we were high up in a Fallsview room in the end (so credit to the staff for giving us a free upgrade) but it was a little irritating and added unnecessary stress. We did book it very far in advance so wondered if perhaps something changed in between the booking and us going. In terms of the room, it was extremely clean (apart from the windows which I feel needed a good clean when you are there to view the falls). We had a jacuzzi style bath with doors that opened so that you could see the falls from the bath, it was really nice and was a huge bath. The beds were really comfy, we both had a brilliant night’s sleep and didn’t find it noisy or get disturbed at all. The bathroom was lovely, and had a detachable shower head as well as a rain shower which is a big bonus for me. We didn’t eat there at tea time, but we did have the buffet breakfast which was absolutely delicious. Only thing I can’t be doing with is the tipping culture. We paid $85 for 2 people to have buffet breakfast, but we were still expected to give a tip. Marriott need to book their ideas up and pay their staff fairly, because it should not be up to customers to pay the staffs’ wage! Especially when we’ve paid extortionate prices to begin with. Even the Starbucks in the lobby was irritatingly begging for money. I understand it’s the custom in Canada and the USA, but it’s very annoying when you’ve already paid through the nose to be there. The hotel offer a bag check, for when you have checked out and we made use of this which was brilliant. They also offered free WeGo bus passes which meant we could get the bus anywhere for free the whole time we were there. They do expire (either after 24 or 48 hrs, I can’t remember as it didn’t matter to us), but you can pop back for new ones. Overall it was a lovely time, the hotel massively adds to the experience and I’d definitely stay here again if I went back. We didn’t use the pool facilities so can’t speak to that.
