With the COVID pandemic a lot of flyers must stay overnight in Toronto. Because of the +- lockdowns lots of stranded corresponding customers had to “sleep” overnight in the airport. The shareton gateaway is a wonderful alternative. One can get to the hotel with his luggage on a cart without taking a shuttle or a taxi or going outside. The hotel was very quiet with seemingly few customers and no eating place open but The people at the reception were very nice and the hotel offered light snacks and room service. The room was nice, very clean and all you need for a short night stay. The next morning you roll out your luggage take the airport internal train and bingo you are ready to fly.

I booked this hotel because I had an early flight the next day. Obviously due to Covid there were a lot of restrictions which I understand but it could have been better. The location is amazing, very easy to access the airport. However, my room was extremely dated, I had to change rooms because my first one was filthy, dusty and the light in the bathroom barely worked. My second room was slightly better. They didn’t offer much for food besides pop/beer and interesting looking food that you would probably warm up in a microwave. Maybe a few bags of chips. For a Sheraton this was really sad, for the amount I paid to stay here they could have made a better effort. Everything was closed. You wouldn’t think this hotel was in service. The staff I dealt with were very friendly Other than location, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Dear Adrianna, Let me begin by thanking you for choosing to stay with us at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel inside Toronto Pearson International Airport. We recognize that you have many choices available to you, and truly appreciate your decision to have stayed with us at our hotel. I would like to take this opportunity to deeply apologize for your initial experience with the first room. Ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay is our number one priority, and I am truly apologetic that this was not reflected in your stay. Please be assured that we have taken your feedback into consideration, and have brought it to the attention of our leaders for follow up. Unfortunately, in accordance with local government regulation resulting from the rise in COVID-19 cases in Ontario, we have had to close our bar, restaurant, fitness centre, and pool. Our in-room dining is still available for dinner service, as well as our Grab & Go at the front desk 24/7. We thank you for your patience as our business continues to adjust to these difficult times. Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Should your travel plans bring you back to Toronto, please feel free to reach out to me at farjana.hussain@sheraton.com - we would love a second opportunity to make things right. Warm regards,

I stayed at that same hotel at least half a dozen times. Every single time, my experience was horrible! The check in is chaotic, staff is disorganized, manager couldn’t care less. On one of my trips, I forgot my passport in the room safe, called the hotel and was redirected to a 1-800 number out of the US. Totally helpless. Called again and asked to speak to the manager who assured me that housekeeping checked and nothing is there. 3 weeks later I get a call that I “forgot my passport in the safe”!! They obviously sis not bother checking when I called the day I called. When they mailed me the passport, it was 2 weeks later plus another week by snail mail before I received it!! Last trip, I asked to speak to the manager because they never delivered my room service. After an hour of waiting, I called room service and apparently they “forgot” to place my order. When I went down to speak to the manager, she made me wait 39 minutes and she never came out. On another stay, the thermostat o the room was not working, in the dead of winter, and nothing was done Eve after making 3 callas to front desk. HORRIBLE AT EVERY LEVEL

I asked what protocol was for food delivery. They told me I have to come to the lobby to pick up. I told them I ordered food. They DELIVERED THE FOOD TO ANOTHER ROOM and did not attempt to resolve. During a pandemic.

Dear Cadpat, Thank you for taking the time provide a review based on your experience with our hotel. I am so sorry to know that your food was delivered to another room, this is certainly unacceptable and a very serious matter especially during this time. Please be assured that we have addressed this matter to our team members. This is definitely the standard that we want our guests to experience and we will be implementing proper protocols to avoid similar situations in the future. Again, thank you so much for your feedback. Please reach out to us if we may be of any further assistance.

We started our trip with a stay here. The check in was..... different. It was not the experience we usually have with checking into a hotel during our travels. It was honestly pretty disappointing service and it felt like we were unwanted or taking the time of the staff member. It was honestly a little bizarre. Park and Fly lots were closed (likely due to COVID) and it took us a while to find some parking but that is no fault of the hotel, just a heads up to other travellers. What you really can't beat by staying here is the location. It honestly is the only way to travel out of Pearson. There is nothing easier than wheeling your luggage across the bridge and right into the terminal. The cost is worth the extra sleep and not having the hassle of travel or parking on the morning of your flight. I was not happy with staying here before our flight. I did not enjoy it. The room felt over used, not fresh and the check in experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Everything was also closed (COVID - we were in Phase III during our trip) so I had to disappoint our child who had been looking forward to swimming all day. There were a few snacks and some cold drinks that could be purchased at the check in desk. We booked our room here for the end of our trip before we stayed the first night. I would not have returned. The experience coming back was night and day. The attendant was absolutely wonderful to us during check in and our child. The room felt crisper, cleaner and less "broken in". Our experience on the tail end of our trip really helped mitigate how disappointing our first stay was.

Dear Holly, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review based on your last experience with us. It is disappointing to learn of the check-in you had upon your arrival. This is certainly not the welcome we want our guests to experience and definitely not our intention to make you feel unwanted. Please be assured that your feedback was not taken lightly as we have addressed this matter with our Front Desk Team. The health and safety of our guests is an utmost importance for us and at this time, we have temporarily closed our pool. I apologize that your son was not able to have a swim. Again, thank you so much for your feedback and we are hopeful that you will come back and experience what truly our hotel is all about. I hope that you keep safe and healthy.
