Detailed Reviews
Came here for a work conference. Great location by the water. Catering staff were very attentive and did a great job with clearing plates and refilling water jugs. The food was just ok - they served sandwiches on one day and tacos the second day. The breakfast pastries were not fresh. The paid parking meters are a bit complicated - it listed $17 for a certain time frame but you can only pay in $5, $10, $20 increments. I ended up paying twice because I accidentally selected $15 and it automatically charged me without confirmation.

We were lucky to be given rooms on the water view side and everything was good.
When we walked back to the hotel from a wedding we attended the noise outside from the bar beside the hotel was out of control. A long line of people were waiting to get in and many were inebriated. A constant stream of cars circled the parking lot. The outdoor patio between the bar and hotel had a wedding in full swing. Our friends had a room on the other side and were told at the front desk that this is what it is like every weekend. When asked what time the place closes and the noise stops they were told 2:30 am! They turned on their air conditioning and bathroom fan and still couldn't sleep from all the music and people yelling. They arrived before check in at 2:30pm and were not warned of the partying and noise until 2:30 am as they had to get up early to drive to another out of town wedding. These rooms should not be given to guests unless they are advised about the weekend bar activities and patio events. Refuse any room offered on the city side and get it in writing when booking.
Breakfast is not really a buffet just a selection of items and some hot food that has to be requested.
We would have given the hotel a 4 star rating except for the issues with the noise.

I would give it 3.5 but no halves are permitted. We stayed for four nights to celebrate our wedding. When booking with Dwight back in June and letting him know we were getting married he was delightfully pleasant and promised a top floor room with park view. Unfortunately when we arrived, no rooms left, we got the second floor where two rooms had been flooded and construction was underway. Recognizing staff is adjusting to resurgence of tourist after COVID restrictions, you’d think they put every effort into customer service. Wrong.
The only person with excellent customer service was Laura at reception. She made the extra effort to show us another room and empathized that on our special day (getting married) we should have a nice room and feel special. We got a different room and Laura helped in getting her “superior”, who wasn’t really responding to our concerns, adjust our accommodations etc. I’m not sure if the business recognizes the value of Laura’s skill set because we were ready to checkout and stay four nights somewhere else.
Again, the staff seems to have a slow adjustment to opening. Breakfast served in the morning is a logistical nightmare. Not only are you physically crowded by the reception desk where people are also trying to checkout, the service is slow with that many people trying to get breakfast.
All in all, if there hasn’t been the rate adjustment we would have left. The rooms were standard, a bit dated, thin walls as per other reviews. We didn’t have a view on the second floor because of trees blocking the park/lake on lower levels.

I have stayed here many times before and watched its transformation from the Travelodge to what it is today. Small but very nice lobby area with seating and the checkin desk is well placed near the lifts. Warmly greeted and efficient check in -courteous staff who could not have been nicer. My room was generously appointed with a King bed with a desk a large TV and a refrigerator (something that many hotels seem to have abandoned ). Lovely bathroom with a generous shower with toiletries and towels and was spotless.
It can be a bit noisy late at night when the bar closes or guests are returning from a party at the hotel but short lived.
The complimentary breakfast was a far cry from when used to be offered and there is very limited seating in the lobby to eat so I opted to take mine back up to the room.. Foam plates and bowls and not the best plastic cutlery. Good selection of items to toast , prepackaged muffins as well as fruit salad and yogurts tubs. Some hot selection of omelette and sausage and hard cooked eggs. Check out was easy and I had asked for an extra 30 minutes with no problems at all.
I did not eat in the new restaurant Ports but heard from other guests the food was amazing.

The management and owners should be ashamed of their facility. Upon entering our room it was evident that the hotel is experiencing some sort of difficulty . Most likely financial. Carpeting in the room was badly stained, DIY repairs in the bathtub and sink, bathroom door was split, Television reception was the worst I have seen in decades. In hindsight we should have walked out. However this was a meeting place for those travelling to Burlington from various points in Canada.
During our 4 day stay our room was never cleaned, nor were clean towels and toiletries provided or delivered. Don’t try calling the front desk, the phone is not answered. Don’t try going to the front desk no one is in sight. Don’t try calling out no one will answer. Don’t try knocking on the office door, the person there does not want to be inconvenienced or accept responsibility for not answering the phone, or answering when you call out Hello, after all as I was told “I work an eight hour shift by myself, and don’t take it out on me.” I just wanted clean towels and toiletries and it was clear she was very annoyed she had to go downstairs to get the towels. She does have my sympathy to have to work in this environment, as my issues are that of management and owners.
Poor quality beds, poor sound proofing - glad to leave
Needless to say, never again

It is 1:44 am and I am laying awake in this horrible hotel listening to the drunks down below on the patio from my sixth floor room. The loud booming of the music has only lessened and the drunks screaming has not at all. After being awoken by a nasty fight in the hallway with someone being smashed into the walls and doors, I seem to not be able to sleep. We started our overnight escape by being greeted by a nasty extremely unwelcoming woman. We went up to our room and walking down the hallway, the carpet is horribly stained. We get into our room and it appears as though our bed had been slept in and the carpet is badly stained here as well. Housekeeping was outside our room so we asked if they could confirm our room had been cleaned. She assured us that the sheets had been changed but agreed that the bed looked unkept. She got a manager, a lovely very apologetic lady who remade the bed. We truly appreciated her hard work and dedication. She was the only joy in this. We went to the restaurant where again we were greeted rudely. The two people here were talking about how the owner had reserved tables and were having a hardwire finding a spot for us. We ended up being seated in a very tiny table for 4 but we were 5 people. We waited a long time to be served. A brand new waitress finally came by to let us know someone would be with us but they were very busy. When the waitress came, she was very nice but overworked as the large party came in at the same time. Our food was delicious but the menu in the restaurant is different from the menu online. There are fewer items on the menu in person. The food, steak and shrimp, was delicious . The waitress said this restaurant turns into a dj party and we noticed all the people coming in priming for a good night. We left and were going to swim but pool had just closed at 9. Apparently it usually closes at 11 but with covid it closes early. I think covid becomes very active in the swimming area after 9pm so they safeguard their guests!!!! The location of this hotel is great but likely will never return, nor will I be getting back these lost hours of sleep I lost at this hotel

I rarely write bad reviews, but if your plan is to find a place to sleep, this is not the right place. The bar downstairs goes until 2am and if you got the room we got which faces the patio with outdoor speakers, you’d better bring earplugs. In fact even earplugs won’t save you. Then there are the guests screaming down the hallway despite the “quiet hour” which supposedly starts at 10pm. Absolutely not worth the price.

It was Sunday and as we came back from the funeral we were in town to attend, we discovered that housekeeping had not touched our room. I asked at the front desk if there was a problem. We were told by the two young women on duty that there was no housekeeping on Sundays.
That was an all-out bold-face lie.
I will never stay there again.

The rooms were clean and met expectations other than the holes in my duvet cover. But the reservation booking system and the front desk staff are the worst I have ever dealt with. I booked two rooms online on their website (not another site) and did not receive a confirmation or reservation number. So, I phoned to confirm the reservations. After about 40 minutes on and off hold, I spoke to the rudest most incompetent desk clerk I have experienced. Even though I told her why I was calling about 6 - 8 times (she kept cutting me off), she repeatedly insisted she was going to book a room for me, and kept telling me she was booking a king room, even though I told her another 8-9 times I wanted two double rooms and that I had already submitted it online. On the tenth time she told me she was booking a room for me, I talked over her (difficult as she doesn't let the person on the other end speak unless they aggressively intervene) and said that was not why I was calling, and that it would be helpful if she let the caller say why they were calling before starting a new booking. She informed me I was being rude and hung up. I then received an email with a confirmation of booking for one room with no reservation number. As the clerk was useless, I emailed to say again that I wanted two double rooms, not three. I got two more confirmations without reservation numbers. While in attendance the same desk clerk could be repeatedly overheard telling another staff person that she 'doesn't put up with that sh**' one evening. I don't know what the issue was, but it appeared from the context she had rudely hung up on yet another hotel guest and was explaining her actions. Then there is the swearing in front of customers waiting at the desk. After I paid and left, they have charged my credit card for four rooms for two nights each - an extra $678. And the same thing happened to a family member. She booked one room, and was asked to pay for four on arrival, sorted it out, and return home to find the charge on her credit card anyway. This hotel needs to sort out their reservation system, and deal with their staffing problems. Do not recommend.

DO NOT STAY HERE! First, we arrive to find out out they can't guarantee you parking because they don't own the lot. The woman told us it was $15 per night - our confirmation email said $5 and there website says $7. The first room they gave us smelled horribly of cigarette smoke in a non smoking room. AND the smoke detector had been ripped out of the ceiling. They gave us a new room right way no problem. What we did not know was that there is a raging nightclub attached and right below our room. I called the desk 3 times and went down once at midnight as they were still amplifying music out onto the patio. Apparently nobody cares about noise restrictions in this city. I don't care if you're a bar, you aren't supposed to have music blaring after 11pm on a patio!!!!! The noise will continue till 2am. We are here for a wedding nearby and booked out of convenience. Never will we stay again and will not recommend. Will be sharing on social media as well. I cannot believe how terrible this hotel is. They really should take better care of their customer service with the new hotel that opened up on the other side of the lot. They will lose their business to them.

As far as I know, the exec room has the bigger bathroom with a stand up glass shower stall as opposed to a more standard tub/shower arrangement in the standard king room. Both are beautiful rooms with lots of space so it depends on how often you are planning on showering as to whether you want to spend the few extra dollars. Only $8-9 difference so I went for the exec option.
If it is a long weekend and there is a special event, it is possible that the hotel has no room availability for some or all the dates that you requested. In summer, it does get very popular since it has a new view of the water. You can also contact the hotel directly to check further.
