Our family of four stayed here three nights. The room was average-sized (not as big as it looks in photos), but clean with nice sheets and a large bathroom, good shower, etc. We had problems with the TV reception -- the audio was out of sync on some channels, and in some cases the picture and sound were very jumpy (especially bad for sports) -- the first time I've seen this at any hotel. Highlight for us was the breakfast, with lots of options, including different hot options each day, all pretty good. The pool is okay -- shallow and not very big (again, the photos make it look bigger), just for kids to splash around. There are lounge chairs around it which was nice. Fitness room was pretty good and served its purpose. The only major issue we had was that one of the two elevators was out of service the whole time we were there, so it was one elevator for a 16 storey hotel, which meant long waits anytime you wanted to use it. We often ended up taking 7 flights of stairs rather than waiting. I'm sure it will be fixed, but even two elevators for that size hotel seems like it might not be enough. Staff were pleasant (they were fairly busy), and the location was good -- we could walk to most downtown locations. I would consider this hotel if staying in Halifax again.…
After reading the bad reviews we were a little nervous about staying here. No problems for us. Very clean suite, friendly staff, my husband liked the breakfast, and no one hanging around out front. Security was on hand outside.
This hotel is starting to show its age, but as always it is the staff that make it a great place to stay. The beds are still comfy, the breakfast still good, and the location is fantastic. Great value for money. Big thanks to the guy working the front desk Thursday February 2!
Excellent stay and great staff at the hotel. Rooms were really clean and all other complimentary services were great. Hotel is also close to downtown Halifax as well as main streets where you have easy access to all amenities
I stayed at the Hampton inn nova Scotia on sept 21 and 22, 2022. I do not recommend staying here. I would have to say it’s on par with Super 8 motel. There are signs all over stating how hygienic the place was, I went to use the microwave next to reception and it was filthy you could have caught some disease from it, hygienic? I think not. My second day I came back around 4p to find my room not made up, I called the front desk and they said housekeeping may not be available but they could give me sheets and towels to do myself. I did not stay here to have to change sheets and towels, even after they told me maid service was daily. I went to dinner and came back around 9p the room was made up however they left the door open, not unlocked OPEN. I was in a panic but luckily my passport and money was in tact. I think the Hilton group has slipped as evident by my stay. …
Great location, great breakfast, but… The 2 beds in our room were extremely uncomfortable including the pillows. Staff member who worked in the breakfast area went to the washroom, used one of the urinals, and left it without washing his hands. A/C was noisy and kept going on and off. Ended up not using it. Toilet seat was cracked. Parking was $25/night.
Excellent, clean comfortable hotel walkable to waterfront, although hilly. Breakfast was good variety. Could use an extra elevator and more seating for breakfast. Internet worked well, and nice large TV.
Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it, The hotel is clean ,and the breakfast was good, different fare each morning. Staff were friendly and courteous.Like everywhere at the moment its currently overpriced.Halifax is a beautiful city, with lots to see and do. Next door to the hotel is a lovely brewery , which is very handy for some lovely beers
Having read some decidedly uncomplimentary reviews I had my concerns prior to arriving. However we had no issues..staff were pleasant, bedrooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was good. We enjoyed two nights here without any complaints! With many thanks
This hotel is in a good location, being downtown and a short walk to the waterfront and many resultants. If you’re staying for just the room then it’s fine minus an exceptionally long wait for the elevator. If you’re staying here hoping to get a swim in I would highly recommend booking elsewhere. The pool area was very dirty with hair and garbage everywhere on the pool deck. The water was very cloudy, you could barley see the bottom of the shallow pool. It was also full of random pieces of cardboard and clumps of hair.
