Visited this hotel for 1 week in August as we got a "deal" on the rate and it included parking. The location was great, however the hotel itself needs some work. Rooms are very small, ours faced onto the roof of another building. The coffee maker made 1 cup at a time which would have been fine if you could... More

This seemed like a great hotel. Why I didn't give them a higher rating was that our room looked out onto a courtyard and a bunch of air conditioning units. Room was clean and it was nice that there was parking beside the premises

We stayed 2 nights to tour the Halifax area. I loved the public gardens across the street. The Harbor walk, shopping, and restaurants are all walking distance. The drive to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay were within an hour.

This refurbished older hotel suits its name with a masculine, dignified, wood-paneled lobby and dining space. It is very well located, a comfortable walk from the waterfront and churches and shopping. There is a fee to park per day, but you can take your car in and out of a self-service underground lot. Breakfast isn't included. You can make use... More

Of course we knew to expect tasteful furnishings and a luxurious lobby given the hotel's reputation, but in addition to that we enjoyed amazing service and a great location. And the prices weren't much different from a lot of mid-to-high-range chains. Some highlights: Our GPS and navigation dropped out on the way into Halifax, so I called the hotel and... More

I love our old Canadian hotels! The elegance and opulence of days gone by greets you as you walk into the lobby of this place. Friendly young doormen greet you cheerfully and the front desk staff is welcoming. Even though our room was not ready until 3:00 pm, it was a treat to sit in the large, comfy chairs in... More

We spent one night at this classic hotel after driving in from Yarmouth. The interior is spectacular and the rooms are also fine. Our breakfast was probably the low point of the stay although I must say that my wife really did enjoy the make your own waffles. You would think that they would have served genuine maple syrup but... More

We stayed in Halifax one night at the beginning of a 14 day driving trip of the Marine Provinces of Canada. The room was very nice. It was a great location for a walk in the lovely public gardens, and to get to local shopping and dining. Close drive to the Fort.

We had four wonderful days in this beautiful hotel. The service form the doormen to reception, concierge, restaurant and housekeeping is exemplary. We ate most meals at the restaurant because the food was a high quality and competitively priced. For the same money you could buy much lower standard meals nearby. Location is great, just across from beautiful gardens which... More

I was very happy with the Lord Nelson hotel. It's a lovely old structure that is been nicely modernized. It has a large front porch with comfortable chairs where you can read in the afternoon or enjoyed her cup of tea. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very pleasant. My only complaint would be the breakfast buffet. You... More
