We had the pleasure of a nights stay at the Haliburton and found it both friendly, intimate and historical . its located close to everything . There is no lift ( and we are glad there isn't ), and the receptionist was more than happy to help us up the stairs with our bags . We arrived too late for... More

Rooms were drafty and loud. Must have been the worst breakfast I have ever had warm beans and cold eggs and cereal. Coffee was always empty and no dishes and tables were dirty. Staff didn't seem bothered.

great staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. The Halliburton is well located, downtown and waterfront are within walkable distances. The hotel offers free parking. Great food is served in the hotel restaurant "Stories"

We got there in pouring rain but was welcomed warmly. The main building was beautiful and the computer and coffee just inside the door. We had a room in another building next door. Our room was 207 - 40 steps up! No elevator so be prepared to carry bags up winding steps! The room was very pretty BUT the furniture... More

Halliburton is a nice and friendly hotel, close to downtown (10 minutes walking) and to Point Pleasant Park (15 minutes walking). The staff is polite and helpful. The rooms are old-style but comfortable and rather clean. The only problem is that they ask 100CAD$ as additional deposit at the beginning of the staying directly on credit card, something which in... More

Great little place and very well located! Parking can be an issue if the tiny lot is full, but they do provide alternatives. We had room 110, just up the stairs to the left. Only noisy when folks are going down for breakfast. Room is well appointed and has all you need. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Looks like... More

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. The building was historic and the hotel spans three narrow buildings side-by-side. Kind of like three New York brownstones. Our room was really large and the bed comfortable. There was a great outdoor patio to sit and read under the trees. The breakfast offered lots of choices. The staff was so nice and helpful.... More

Seriously, to take halifax in and get an authentic and comfortable experience, this is the place. The outdoor area is absolutely lovely...but its the neighbourhood and location that make this in #1. Whether you re an East coast expert, or new to visiting the city...you ll be so pleased to be in the heart of it! Very good (but slightly... More

Short walk from all the waterfront has to offer. Also close to downtown! So many restaurants and museums within a 10 minute walk. The room was very quiet and private! Set in an older townhome, it had character and charm. Although we didn't use it, there is a very nice courtyard available for guests. The continental breakfast was fabulous!
