We stayed at Holdsworth House for two nights in at the end of May. The house is a true gem and was lovingly restored to former glory by the hosts Margaret and Tony. They have kept the historic charm of the house. Upon arrival Margaret gave us a little tour of the home and it was really interesting to hear... More

Just finished a three night stay and we cannot say enough good things about this wonderful B&B!! Margaret and Tony are warm and friendly, the rooms are generously sized and the breakfasts are perfect! The homemade soap and lavender sachet were beautiful additions to a lovely experience. We would absolutely stay here again!

The food at this B&B was phenomenal and the hosts were great to talk to. We had 4 family members in one room and were very comfortable in the space. Margaret did a cooking demonstration over the hearth fire for us on our last night there, and that was a great experience as well. Definitely plan to come back the... More

Wonderful, quaint old house. Many original features. We stayed in the "James Room". Beautiful room, with view of the water. Beautiful quilt bedding and old-fashioned foot type bath. Lovely, helpful hostess. She gave us loads of information about the house. Very interesting. Loved how the interior felt like you were stepping back in time, as there were many original features... Spent two nights here and totally enjoyed the experience. Margaret took time to share stories of the history and restoration of the house. Excellent host and prepared wonderful beam fasts for us. This was our first trip to Nova Scotia and staying at the Holdsworth house has made it even more special

This is a wonderful home full of style and comfort. There was a wonderful view of the water from the back of the house. Each room is full of charm and very clean. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly. I would love to stay here again.

This B&B looks like a typical smaller Nova Scotia heritage house but is actually a log cabin brought by settlers from New England! If you want to learn some of the history of the province from the fascinating hosts - this is your place. The room was comfortable and the whole house is restored with real antique artefacts. Perhaps not... More

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure having you and your husband stay with us. It is always nice to hear that guests appreciate the efforts that Tony and I have done to restore the home, and offer guests a chance to experience what life may have been like over 230 years ago. Happy Travels. More

My mother, sister and I met up here for a weekend getaway and loved it. We were charmed by its 18th century looks and by the owners who generously opened their home and its stories to us. The owners also run a delicious cafe called Mag Pyes so are often there working or picking up guests at the ferry. Guests... More
