The Graham's Pioneer Retreat is the place! A lovely location on the neck of Digby, Nova Scotia facing the bay, it is nicely placed to get to a lot of site-seeing spots but when you come back to a lovely hidden cottage for complete private time from others, it's like heaven. The Graham's hospitality is kind a generous and Hubby... More

The most peaceful & relaxing place to visit. The cottage "Solace" where we stayed, is so beautiful, very clean & had everything we needed. The deck & gazebo overlooked the beautiful bay. In the mornings we awoke to a gorgeous sunrise. Because of our timing we were able to see the full moon, which made the water sparkle. We got... More

We had a wonderful stay at Graham's Pioneer Retreat, earlier this week. My husband and I had three small children with us, and it was so nice to be "away from it all." The cottage was spacious, clean, and had everything that we needed. A quick walk down the hill and we were at the private rocky beach, which was... More

Thank you tmac222016 for taking the time to tell about your stay with us. Isn't it nice to sit around a table and play games or cards again. To be able to spend that kind of quality time with the family without electronics playing a major role. It is almost like camping (lanterns) with all the comforts of home. Maybe... More

Almost annually, myself and 3-5 other girlfriends get together for a "girls escape". We rent a cottage to wine, dine, relax, and rest for a few days most summers. This year we chose Graham's Pioneer Retreat. I had met Linda a few weeks before we booked and though she was lovely :) Chatted with the girls, found some available nights... More

Angela it was a pleasure seeing you again and meeting your friends. "Serenity Sisters" what a great name for the group no matter where you stay on your little "Escape". I know it seems a little scary at first, about the generator, but once you see how easy it is everything is fine. Dave and I are so happy that... More

We stayed in one got three self sustaining cabins. Sounds too rustic... Don't believe it. We had a fully equipped kitchen all the hot water you would need or want. Electricity via generator which we ran all night. Two bedrooms with very comfortable queen size beds Microwave, re fridge, gas stove. Kitchen, living room and a wonderful deck. Outside was... More

Thecde It sounds like you and friends had a wonderful time. The driftwood that the tide brings in keeps our bonfires going all summer for free. There is no cost for bonfire wood. This summer though we did have a fire ban in place. Night after night to be able to sit or lay down to watch the dark-night sky... More

My husband and I spent a night at the Felicity cottage this past weekend ... Thank you for your feedback. I am so glad the fog lifted and you were able to see the full panoramic view of Saint Mary's Bay. I never tire of the site when I top the mountain taking our guests down to the cottages. We are so lucky here having a slight breeze most of the time keeping the black... More

We stayed here for the weekend and we loved it, peaceful and relaxing place with incredible views. The cottage was clean and very cozy, it has everything you need just bring your clothes and some food. Loved that we could take our puppy as well, we are already making plans to return.

Linda, the hostess, gave us an excellent service. The cottage is warm, clean, and nice place for us to spend a night. It just beside the bay and have very good view. Btw, Linda also gave us very much information about the whale watching. You can ask anything you want.

I never tire of looking out over Saint Mary's Bay when I accompany our guests to their cottage for the first time. The view still fascinates me. Please do not hesitate to ask any question... More

This is a great place for a bit of a getaway. I have stayed 2x now and am booked for another. The cottages are beautifully crafted with everything you could possibly need. There's ample opportunity just to be by yourself and do your own thing or spend your evenings around the common fire pit. There's beach combing, sight seeing, hiking,... More

We look forward to your return visit. I think that is in Sept. I hope we have a nice summer for evening bonfires. It is always so much fun to sit around the fire with the waves washing on shore. Living off grid isn't so bad when you have propane appliances. I am happy to hear you found everything you... More

We stayed in June, as out cottage was adorable. The cottages are off grid, but have generators and a full kitchen so we lacked nothing. There is no tv which was perfect because our cottage had board games and books. We played board games and got to disconnect from technology and reconnect with one another. Ocean was a short walk... Isn't it amazing how much power we can live without! It sounds like you found every thing you needed (dishes, pots, serving dishes, utensils) in the kitchen. We need technology but we also need to disconnect from time to time. Families need time to reconnect with each other to talk and do things as a close group, like board and... More
