We stayed for 2 nights whilst on our fly drive. We had a lovely welcome and our room was very clean and extremely comfortable. We loved the communal breakfast and meeting all the other guests. The food - well what can we say - it was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend this little gem.
Very clean, great owners, delicious food. Would not hesitate to return and recommend to anyone. Well located, close to town centre. Wonderful stay. Easy access to places to visit. People make it a point to return, like the ones we met from New York.
This was my first visit to Colby House but will not be my last. I could not ask for a more pleasant stay. I was warmly welcomed and shown to my room which was fabulous. The house offered a spacious living room where one could relax, read, sip a fresh cup of coffee or go on the internet. The breakfast the following morning was outstanding. Fresh fruit, a large omelette, and other additions. Likely one's biggest challenge will be availability. Book early and take advantage of a beautiful spot with Maritime hospitality.
Beautiful house and room with wonderful owners. Sydney didn't have much going on but that is not the B & B's fault. Breakfast was delicious. Bev and Gord were pleasant and very helpful and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed our three night stay at the Colby House B&B. Our thanks go to Bev and Gordon for being such gracious innkeepers and enthusiastic about their B&B, their city and their country. We received some great recommendations to visit nearby attractions such as Fort Louisbourg, and the Cape Breton Highlands via the John Cabot Trail. Moreover, the restaurant recommendations by Bev were outstanding too. The Colby House B&B is located in a pretty residential area flanked by rare Elm Trees along the quiet street. We were able to walk down to the waterfront and enjoy dinner in Sydney. The B&B itself was beautifully furnished and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable with all the amenities one would expect. We enjoyed talking to Gordon in the morning when he served breakfast which was delicious in all areas. Fresh fruit and coffee complemented the great meal as well. As a retired military member, I enjoyed sharing stories with Gordon who also served. This stay was one of our best stays during our 12-day tour of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. We are so glad we chose the Colby House Bed & Breakfast and would love to return someday.
