Very nice building in lovely area run by a very welcoming couple we were even given free glass of wine in the small garden and they readily booked us into a very good restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast was extremely good and freshly cooked. Well recommended

Our hosts could not have made us feel more welcome! We were given a hand-written card upon checking in. Our room was comfortable. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine or lemonade during a 'happy hour' when we had the chance to visit with other guests and our hosts. Our hosts were able to give us recommendations for dinner... More

It feels good to offer warm welcome to our guests. That's what it's really all about. We do want our guests to feel relaxed and at home. Our social hour is the height of the day. This is a heritage building once a home built in 1784-85. The outside is an unpainted time weathered looking home in keeping with the surrounding heritage buildings. Our room, called the J.Chandly Smith Room ($140), separate from the main building, was the smallest of the inn with its own outside entrance in the ground floor of the Cooperage. It is... More

Touring Nova Scotia putting a 'pin in the map' and we struck gold. Shelburne is a beautiful, unspoilt village with an interesting history. We had 2 nights at the Coopers Inn and it worked in every way. Character room, gourmet breakfast, wine with other guests and the hosts in their lovely garden in the early evening. Our hosts arranged a... More

David and Pat organized our four day get away package with dinner reservations and a boat cruise and museum passes for the four top local attractions. David and Pat also host a very nice social hour with red and white Nova Scotia wines in the garden or sitting room. A nice opportunity to chat with other guests. We had some... More

Had a wonderful time here with my wife and my dad visiting Shelburne, NS for a family history trip. The hosts were absolutely a pleasure--very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely first class. Highly recommend a stay here and we certainly hope to be back one day to visit again.

Especially fun here was the 5 p.m. happy hour offered to and attended by all the guests in the Inn's lovely garden - a great chance to meet the hosts and fellow travellers. The Cooper's Inn is located right on the waterfront in old town Shelburne. It is in a very quiet area. The room we were in was large and airy with a huge king four poster bed. The bathroom was modern. Everything was clean and we felt we were visiting a private home. Pat and David are quite hospitable. They don't... More

The sense of relaxed calm when visiting Shelburne and area is something we'd hope all our guests might experience. The dynamics of our Global Community or the niceties of a poached egg all matter in their respective ways. Getting to experience the feel of home in the presence of friends most often makes your visits special to us as well. More

The Cooper's Inn, Shelburne NS The community of Shelburne is like a stroll back in time. It is so picturesque and quaint.
