When we were told we were staying in the "sheds" we were a little worried, but don't let the term put you off. It is hard to find any fault with this place. The location and grounds are lovely. The Shed we had was clean, large and comfortable, with cooking facilities and a clean bathroom. We had breakfast in the... More

Had an amazing long weekend here. Great, comfy rooms with a fireplace and extra bed and couch area. Perhaps the kitchen is a little small, but the room is overall excellent. It's set in an idyllic area with a beautiful garden, and the breakfasts are awesome. The host went out of her way to accommodate our every request and would... More

These "sheds" feel like tastefully rustic little palaces. They were very nice after a long haul from Kruger NP. The property is a nice match for the beauty of the area. Breakfast was quite good. Dinner can be found in Wakkerstroom a short drive away. Wifi is available at reception. We spent two nights here while birding in the area.... More

We spend the weekend in Wakkerstroom to attend my son wedding. The cottage that we stayed in was awesome. The rooms were beautifully decorated the beds heavenly with fresh white washed linen. The bathrooms were well appointed and the service was fantastic. Rita and her team went out of her way to accommodate all our extra needs. Thank you Rita... More

Arriving after a 9-hour journey from Kruger we were taken aback by a less than enthusiastic ‘welcome’ from the lugubrious Marilyn (think Dame Edna’s bridesmaid Madge), but our accommodation in a comfortable and well-equipped cabin was very satisfactory indeed. Morning light revealed a pleasant setting in gardens near a birding dam, and the courteous and solicitous welcome from the owners... More

I have been to the sheds a number of times and it doesn't disappoint, great value, friendly service and natural serenity accessible straight off the lawns rolling down to the river. I can recommend this little gem to anyone who want to get away from it all for a couple of days.

Lovely room, very comfortable bed , great uninterrupted view to the dam with a nice private patio-the best breakfast and the very lovely couple running the place Phillip and Rita who made us feel like family. Tried to book for next March when Wakkerstroom has a music festival, but sadly fully booked already😔

Wetlands was a surprise! We had the warmest welcome, delicious 5* star breakfast and clean and comfortable stay. It was freezing and rainy in Wakkerstroom but the house we stayed in had fireplaces in all the rooms as well as in the tv room. Our house was self catering - we ate in the town etc, but next time because... More

Our hosts Philip and Rita were amazing. What a treat. The accomodation was stunning and the attention to detail made it even more spescial. We fell in love with Wakkerstroom and all the people. We will definitely go back.
