We enjoyed a comfortable stay at this hotel. We were pleased with the location, the bed was comfortable and the property was very clean. It’s a tad outdated in its decor and could use an inexpensive face lift by just changing up the shower curtain and coverlet on the end of the bed with something neutral. It would also brighten up the room . We loved that it had Alexa in the room to help access the news, weather and local information. Loved the towel heater!

Stayed at the Murray Premises Hotel for two nights. I love the history and this place has such character... Staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean. Jetted bathtub was lovely. Located on the waterfront and within walking distance of restaurants and shops and cafes and the famous George Street! You should go!

We booked the Murray Premesis for 2 nights in their executive King suite. The room was spacious, rustic, and comfortable, with a jacuzzi, electric fireplace, mini fridge, TV, and huge bathroom. We had never stayed at the Murray Premises before, but came highly recommended to us and I'm glad we booked. The building itself is full of character, and it's in a great downtown location. The elevator is a bit old, so if that makes you nervous I would recommend taking the stairs (we did). Our room was on the second floor overlooking the parking lot and harbour. During our two night stay, I dont think we heard another guest once. The room was very quiet and peaceful. My one minor complaint is that a free continental breakfast was supposed to be provided, and while they did inform us on arrival that they were unable to supply their usual buffet, I was still disappointed with the substitute. An assortment of muffins and fruit were laid out for guests in the lobby, but they weren't exactly the best quality. I completely understand the need for adjustments due to the pandemic, so this is really only a nitpick. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed for 5 nights and were assigned a most unique and spacious room with beautiful woodwork and a nice jacuzzi. The hotel took extra measures to sanitize the rooms and common areas during the pandemic. Our room was sealed on the door and even the TV remote control was placed inside a sealed plastic bag with our arrival date written on it. A clean and comfortable room. Despite the pandemic, there was an assortment of breakfast food items available. All processed food was individually wrapped for safety reasons and there were brown bags to carry items to the rooms. Murray Premises is located next to Water street and in easy walking distance to many downtown shops and restaurants/pubs. We really appreciated the hotel's free parking. Special thanks to Steve, Adam and Allie who graciously assisted us while we were there. They were most helpful. Murray Premises will definitely be our hotel of choice every time we visit St John's in the future.

Room Tip: Request top floor and harbour view. This helps with weekend street noise during the outdoor season.

I stayed at the Murray Premises for a 3 week period in March of 2018. I know a little late to review but I don't expect much has changed since and I feel its helpful in this time of uncertainly to help by way of a review at least. The staff were very accommodating and extended me a conference room for some meetings at no cost. The location is right downtown and the gypsy tea room is attached directly to the hotel. Very convenient in the chilly St Johns winter weather. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return.
