Check-in was quick and easy. The room was enormous with a big TV, and a large king bed. I was somewhat ready to be a bit disappointed and rate the hotel as “average”, given how much we had paid in a relatively small city, but the staff kept doing things that I couldn’t ignore, and the few problems we experienced weren’t very big.
The location is great, right on the river and within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants. In addition, as soon as we checked in, we dropped our stuff in the room, and then walked to the edge of the parking lot and within one minute, the tidal bore came by.
We both had problems logging into the wifi, although we did eventually get in. The curtains were oddly too small for the windows. No matter how you pulled them, they left a small gap, which became much worse when the sun came blazing in in the early morning.
On the positive side, the cable package had a good selection of channels and the shower was almost worth the price of admission.
At some point, we found a hand-typed/cut voucher slid under our door giving us $12 of free items from their small lobby store. This was $12 free, not $12 off if you spent $25. After breakfast, we walked over and selected $12 worth of snacks and drinks. The included breakfast initially looked a bit light, until one of the staff asked us if we wanted a hot meal. So instead of muffins and cereal, we had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns.
Overall, we had a very good experience staying at the Chateau Moncton Trademark Collection by Wyndham.

The hotel is located in the downtown of a small city. The room was clean with a new furniture. The check in was fast.
What we didn't like:
Very long lines to get a breakfast. The hotel decided instead of offering a la cart to give omelette, sausages and fries personally to each guest. It created a long line at around 8:30 am and people had to wait about 20 min just to get to these 2 ladies. Then...you have to spend another 20 min because they just put 1 (one!!!) toaster for all guests. Very strange decision by the hotel management. I don't know how much money did they save?
The hotel is definitely overpriced. We paid over 300 CAD for one night and I booked about 4 months in advance.. Similar hotels cost in that area around 220-240 per night.
The room was amazing. Lots of space in the room. It was clean and well laid out. The bathroom was modern and tidy and the shower was amazing. It had rain shower head, three body jets, and a waterfall sprayer. Wow! The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was great. Had lots of options with a buffet of warm food too. The staff serve the hot food (bacon, sausage, hash browns, and scrambled eggs) as well as make coffees for you with their Nespresso machine.
We would definitely recommend it and we would stay again if we ever return to Moncton.
Low maintenance - only warm water due to a broken shower thermostat. Had to switch rooms. Hotter water in the 2nd room, but the top shower head was broken, and the room lamp switch did not work. Had to pull the plug from the wall to turn it off...
Weird breakfast arrangement - You can not take the eggs/sausage/bacon by yourself... you have to queue to be served. As result, you waste both time and food. Breakfast itself is VERY basic. No fruits, no vegetables, no porridge, no alternative milks, etc
Service was also problematic. We reported the problem in the first room in the morning and were promised that it would be fixed. When we came back in the evening, nothing was done, and it was as if we never asked. Then, a rude lady went to the room and told us that in her "opinion" the water was hot enough...
A high-end establishment ruined by poor human handling.
Being extremely picky and this is extremely picky. The tub in the bathroom is quite high for somebody who is maybe older and there is no grandpa so you are older up on stairs and into a tub then I would ask for a handicap room
We got a room overlooking the river and the boardwalk nice boardwalk to walk around. The water is kind of muddy looking, but it does have that bore title from the fund that you can observe it if you’re here at the right time.
"Right on the river with trail right along it. Easy walk into downtown. Easy driveway access with traffic light."Read full review
"It is across the street from plenty of restaurants and stores and it has a nice boardwalk to walk around and stretch your legs on."Read full review
