We are defined by Manitoba’s Prairie Pothole Region and under one of the largest flyways in North America, the Central. We are surrounded by a perfect storm of prime habitat and a diversity of migrating masses. The sheer number of birds, availability of species, and variety of hunting scenarios sets a precedence for a Canada waterfowl hunting destination. You will see things here that you won’t see anywhere else, but this is just the icing on a very large cake. Our distinct experience could be easily distinguished by our ability to cover all the details. This special attention is what allows us to exceed expectations and separates us from the norm. Seamless travel logistics, amenities, and service that caters to any need or want, tireless work ethic of our guides and staff, and our combined knowledge and resources to create unparalleled waterfowl hunting trips are just a few examples.

Went to Birdtail for the first time September 16-19 2021. One of the best waterfowl experiences my father and I have ever had. Paul's attention to detail, hard working staff, master chef and top notch accommodations were first class. I would highly recommend this outfitter to anyone looking for a waterfowlers hunt of a lifetime. Thank you for the memories.

I went to Birdtail for the October 5th 2018 three day hunt. The hunting was great, and the team at Birdtail are everything they claim to be. Having been to a lot of guide services, it was a pleasure to experience one that worked for birds exactly how they claimed to. Anyone can say they scout, and will work to put you on birds. Birdtail does this exactly as they claim, and staffs to be able to adjust daily to the hunting conditions. What a treat. The food, skeet, cabins, and accommodations were exactly as advertised too! Way to go Paul and Team!

I don’t do reviews normally but feel that I need to do one after our experience this week. Our group has hunted in Canada for a number of years. This was our first trip to Birdtail Waterfowl Inc. The accommodations were excellent and very clean. The food was good and plenty of it. We were the only new group there. The rest of the groups were all repeat customers that had hunted with Birdtail before. These groups had excellent shooting during the week and limited out most days. During the course of checking out Birdtail we told we would have two guides each day. It turned out that we had one guide in the morning for geese and a different guide in the afternoon for ducks. This two guides were new to Bird tail and it was their first or second season. We never seemed to be at the right place or time and had trouble decoying birds. Calling the birds needed work. We had poor shooting for most of the week. We missed some shots too. There were several administration problems as well. If it is the first time for anyone wanting to go to Birdtail, I would suggest you ask the following questions: How many guides on each hunt, what is their experience, get a name if possible. Confirm all costs in writing or email including the cost to clean each induvial goose and duck. Based on what the other gentlemen did, it’s a great place to hunt. We just had an off week.

Been to a lot of hunting and fishing camps, I've yet to find a place that can compare to Birdtail Waterfowl. Paul's attention to detail is what really makes the place special...that and the thousand upon thousands of birds, haha.

My husband and some of his friends hunted ducks with Birdtail last year, and when he came home, he said you simply have to go back with me next year. Having been on many hunting trips with him, I was leery of it as generally the accommodations and food are second rate, and we haven't always had the best guide experiences. Not the case with Birdtail! Paul, the owner, and his staff pay attention to every detail working hard to ensure you have an incredible experience. Safety is of utmost importance during their hunts. Their guides scout the birds before they take you out so that your blinds are set right in the middle of them, and do everything in their control to help you reach your daily limit. Jay, and his dog, Titan, were our guides for geese. What fun to watch Titan retrieve our birds so quickly. Jordon was our guide for ducks. He never stopped hustling to be sure we had access to plenty of ducks. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and the thousands of mallards, pintails, snow geese and Canada geese flying all around you combined to make you realize you were in one of nature's special paradises. Thank you, Birdtail!

If you are looking for a amazing waterfowl experience in the pothole heaven of Canada - look no further than Birdtail Waterfowl & the owner Paul Conchatre! Individual cabins for 2 or 4 - a total of 6 - that have beautiful bathrooms - towels provided, comfortable beds & pillows, sitting area with table & chairs, hooks, hangars & space for gear and supplies. Did I mention every cabin has it's own front porch with a bench! The guides are TOP NOTCH & will get you on the birds morning & night! There will be more food than you can eat & it is all high quality! Home made buns & bread daily! How about a nice hot breakfast burrito at 4:30 in the morning for your drive to the blind!?!?!? Ducks - geese sandhill cranes - you will have a BLAST! BOOM!
