Very nice hotel with fantastic contemporary style bedrooms, very modern, big bedroom and awesome bathroom with a beautiful double shower, the fridge in the room has complementary water and snacks which is a nice surprise, films are included on the TV, parking is very limited I would say about 30 vehicles, hotel is within walking distance to The Forks and close to downtown, however, the HVAC in the room is very loud when starting up and running and if your a light sleeper this will be very noticeable. Staff was very friendly, they will ask for a $50 CC deposit which they will hold for 3 days or $250 for a debit card which they will return back to your card when you check out. Will be staying there again in the near future.

On a very busy weekend in Winnipeg, Mere was a good reasonably priced option. Double Queen Riverview upper floor was beautiful. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean, well appointed except, it would be nice to have a comfortable chair to relax in and enjoy the river view or a tv show. There 2 ottoman style chairs, no backrest, and a hard office style chair at the small desk, but nothing comfortable to relax in.
Wardrobe and bathroom very smartly laid out walk kn shower with double shower heads, super smart control function and clean glass enclosure rather than sticky curtains that are unfortunately so common in hotels.
Beds very comfortable, bedding changed from heavy duvet to light blanket on my request by super nice weekend staff.
Only slight “complaint“ is the pretty noisy aircon.
Check in quick outdoor reserved CAD 16 parking not always available.
All in all I had one of my best sleeps in a hotel for quite a while
and will very likely return

We stayed one night at the Mere Hotel. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the location, close to the forks and lots of other amenities. The front desk service was timely and polite. My only complaint was the air conditioning in the room was quite loud when it turned off, and online it advertised drinks/snacks in our room, which there was not.
All in all, I am sure we will be back.

We stayed one night here while travelling across Canada with our trailer. We were allowed to park our 20 ft trailer and truck right in front of the hotel in the entrance area which was very nice considering we took up most of the space.

The room, which was main floor because we requested a pet-friendly room, was pleasant enough. The bathroom has a full glass partition separating it from the bedroom. There is a screen covering this which has been installed backwards so you can see into the bathroom from the bedroom and you can’t see the bedroom while in the bathroom. It’s meant to be the other way around. As my
husband always says, doesn’t anybody ever check anything?

The bed is comfortable enough, the sheets are very thin and average quality. The bed pillows are poor. The bathroom sink stopper doesn’t work well and the water drains very slowly. The bar soap is very mucky when wet and sticks to the plastic soap dish like glue. Both my husband and I had to dig our fingernails into the bar of soap to release it. Really frustrating and annoying.

What really bothered me is on the hotel website it says there are complimentary water, soft drinks and snacks provided in the room. Nope. Nothing. I called the front desk and was told they no longer provide them. So why does their website still say they do?

The website also says the rooms have upscale Molton Brown bath products. Nope. Just cheap generic products. When I asked the front desk about them I was told they no longer provide them. So why does their website still say it does?

This is misleading, false advertising and they need to correct the information they have on their website. It makes you wonder what else on their website isn't true. Do they really thoroughly clean and sanitize surfaces in the rooms? Do they really leave 72 hours between guests before filling each room? It says so on their website but how can we be sure?

We had dinner on the patio at Cibos which is, I think, part of the hotel. The food was average and we wouldn't bother eating there again.

The staff here are pleasant and helpful and it is a reasonably nice 3 star hotel, fine for a one-night stopover. It’s not nearly as luxurious as they bill themselves.

Lots of pros at this hotel - right on the river with nice views, easy access to the river walk, room was clean, well laid out with lots of storage areas, towels were nice and fluffy, walking distance to The Forks and Human Rights Museum.

Cons - parking is limited. They charge $16 per day to everyone who wants it but can’t provide parking to everyone who has paid for parking. It was annoying to return late Friday night to no parking. We drove around the neighbourhood for 15 minutes before we could find a spot on the street. They did refund us the parking fee. The water pressure is not awesome, beds are so-so.

Perhaps they could sell parking passes for the parking spots available so you know upfront that you will be looking for street parking and setting an alarm to pay the parking meter in the am.

Overall it is a nice little hotel, but due to the current parking situation I would not stay again.

Please accept our gratitude for your recent review of our property. Feedback like yours are very valuable as this would give us an opportunity to correct service shortfalls for future guests. While it was great to read that you loved our location being close to river walk, The Forks and Human Rights Museum, it was very unfortunate to read about the issue with our parking situation, I extend our apologies for this. Parking has always been a challenge especially on busy nights due to limited spots, however alternative parking options are available close by and front desk are always happy to assist guest should they have issues with parking. We are also in the process of finding a solution about our current parking situation. Thank you for your understanding.

I was debating between a 2 and 3. While the room & property were well appointed, clean and visually appealing I decided comfort was worth more to me.

First let me start with the positives, staff was great! From check-in to housekeeping zero complaints. Room was clean and I have high standards.

The issues I had were with noise and linens. My stay was in the summer so air conditioning was a must. I’m not sure if it was the unit in my room that was noisy or all units throughout the property, but what I can say is both my colleague and I complained of the same thing. Too much noise! The air conditioner specifically was so loud it startled me. Thankfully I always travel with earplugs (just in case) had I not I would have had very little sleep.

Next was the linens. When compared to any holiday inn express the Mere fails miserably. The sheets were rough and had pills which felt like crumbs in my bed! Perhaps I’ve been spoiled but I expect hotels to have a certain standard of linens and these just don’t make the cut. Bed itself wasn’t the worst nor the best I’ve ever slept in.

And lastly, most hotels I stay at offer complimentary bottles of water. While I’m not opposed to paying something, I felt $5 per bottle was excessive when it’s not even premium water. My stay was paid by my employer but opted not to buy the overpriced mere branded bottles just out of principal.

Overall not a terrible place to stay, I just think this property could be really great if they tried a bit harder.

Overall we found this hotel to be extremely clean and quite modern. Room had everything we needed and good space for luggage. The room also had a mini-fridge which was great to keep our drinks cold. Good location close to the river.
Our main issue was the extremely noisy AC/heating unit. We stayed in June and weather was warm, so we needed to run the AC while sleeping - but the thing made as much noise as a vacuum cleaner! It was ridiculous. There was no way I could sleep with that thing running. This made for an unpleasant sleeping experience. I would strongly recommend that management replaces these units - the disruption was enough to make me not want to stay here again unfortunately.

Loved staying here, super clean, super cool. However, it took several minutes to get the lights on in the room. Then as we lay down to sleep, suddenly lights came on all over the room. Took a few minutes again to figure out how to turn them off😂 It’s in a beautiful area, right on the river side. Two minor issues: limited parking, so check in early or you park on the street. And you only get 3 miserable nespresso pods. For coffee drinkers this is NOT enough. (Also, the bathroom wall facing the river is all glass, although there is a blind for privacy)

This hotel is nothing but a bed and a bathroom. There is no option for food they didn’t even have an ice machine for $270.00 a night ice should be included. Worst hotel I have ever spent money on. There is no breakfast options at all. The front desk staff were very unfriendly. Not anywhere worth $270.00. I would never stay there again.

There are no security bars in the bathroom. The shower floor has a slippery coating. Seniors are vulnerable to falling in their showers. In the parking area there is a tall pillar mounted on a cement base. BEWARE....if you drive too far forward, you will damage your vehicle. It cost me $846 to repair the dent/paint damage. There is no warning sign on that pillar that there is a high, protruding curb. Worst of all, management has not responded to my concerns, though I have written to them. This is very unprofessional on their part, and very disappointing.

Its unlikely you'll need ac this time if year. The coffee and tea set up in the rooms is amazing and complimentary energy bars are a great touch. The forks is a very close walk or bike ride and it's awesome! Highly recommend Passero in the forks market. Incredible Italian restaurant

Hi There, yes our rooms are fragrance free, although we do have a signature scent in the lobby when you arrive. It doesn't carry through the halls or rooms. If you have a particular allergy we can inform our housekeeping prior to your arrival. Thank you for your question!
