Staff here are AMAZING; friendly, and cannot do enough for you, take a genuine interest in you. Rooms very clean, great showers, and the bed is as comfortable as any I have experienced in 25 years of travelling. Beautiful views and nice area.
The Mere is a beautiful hotel located on Waterfront Drive in Winnipeg. It is walking distance to parks, restaurants, museums, etc. The rooms are spotless and well appointed. The view of the river is an asset. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Only one downfall: parking is very limited. All told - an excellent place to stay.
Overall we found this hotel to be extremely clean and quite modern. Room had everything we needed and good space for luggage. The room also had a mini-fridge which was great to keep our drinks cold. Good location close to the river. Our main issue was the extremely noisy AC/heating unit. We stayed in June and weather was warm, so we needed to run the AC while sleeping - but the thing made as much noise as a vacuum cleaner! It was ridiculous. There was no way I could sleep with that thing running. This made for an unpleasant sleeping experience. I would strongly recommend that management replaces these units - the disruption was enough to make me not want to stay here again unfortunately.
Lots of pros at this hotel - right on the river with nice views, easy access to the river walk, room was clean, well laid out with lots of storage areas, towels were nice and fluffy, walking distance to The Forks and Human Rights Museum. Cons - parking is limited. They charge $16 per day to everyone who wants it but can’t provide parking to everyone who has paid for parking. It was annoying to return late Friday night to no parking. We drove around the neighbourhood for 15 minutes before we could find a spot on the street. They did refund us the parking fee. The water pressure is not awesome, beds are so-so. Perhaps they could sell parking passes for the parking spots available so you know upfront that you will be looking for street parking and setting an alarm to pay the parking meter in the am. Overall it is a nice little hotel, but due to the current parking situation I would not stay again.…
Room was clean. Bed very comfortable. Location is great. Staff are friendly. Room was average. But regular coffee would have been nicer . But being #7 in rating for a big city, I was expecting nicer. Overall building showing its age. In Room water, $5. tap was cheaper. Heater/AC wall unit quite noisy. Over all, was a good stay.
On a very busy weekend in Winnipeg, Mere was a good reasonably priced option. Double Queen Riverview upper floor was beautiful. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean, well appointed except, it would be nice to have a comfortable chair to relax in and enjoy the river view or a tv show. There 2 ottoman style chairs, no backrest, and a hard office style chair at the small desk, but nothing comfortable to relax in. Wardrobe and bathroom very smartly laid out walk kn shower with double shower heads, super smart control function and clean glass enclosure rather than sticky curtains that are unfortunately so common in hotels. Beds very comfortable, bedding changed from heavy duvet to light blanket on my request by super nice weekend staff. Only slight “complaint“ is the pretty noisy aircon. Check in quick outdoor reserved CAD 16 parking not always available. All in all I had one of my best sleeps in a hotel for quite a while and will very likely return…
Stayed with my wife and a few other couples. It was busy in the hotel since a jets game was on that night. Lots of great restaurant/brewery options in short walking distance. Friendly front desk service. Would be nice to have some breakfast options but Nespresso machine in the room is nice. Ice machine was broken but went down to front desk and they were able to get some for us. Overall a great stay
We recently stayed a night at the Mere Hotel in Winnipeg and had an issue during out one night stay. I mentioned the problem to the staff the next day before checkout and they told me they'd check into my problem. Also following up with an email to the hotel management. Within 8 hrs they got back to me very apologitic and very understanding of my issue. For that I commend them for their quick action. I will return to the hotel while in Winnipeg on my next visit as it is a beautiful hotel and staff are awesome. So just a really big THANK YOU for helping me with my issue. You truly are a credit to tourism at this stage of a crisis with Covid. Pat Slaney
Amazing hotel. Beautiful inside and out, beautiful rooms, clean everywhere, great coffee, great closet system that actually functions well for travel, fabulous windows and good view. Love that it’s pet friendly. Great $ value too. Really nice brewery/bar nearby. Convenience store nearby. I will absolutely return to this hotel for every visit to Winnipeg.
Has lost it’s boutique feel and our vehicle was broken into. They no longer offer the unique things that made it a great hotel (no water offered in fridge or even available to purchase from vending machine, cheaper bathing products, no snacks like before in fridge) As well, there is no security watch other then a video camera in the parking lot. Our vehicle and another broken into. Front desk manager eluded that this is an issue and blamed it on lack of the city policing the area. Simple fix…hire overnight security! Compensation…we didn’t have to pay the $32 parking fee AND during any future stays we can park closer to the entrance! Wow…all this in exchange for a $1500 repair bill. We do not recommend staying here and will not be back.
