Went for my birthday, my card was overcharged by $100, tried several times to have it rectified with not even so much as a returned phone call. Room was dirty still from previous guests (full flowers on the floor, gross bedding)🤮. No fridge or anywhere to put leftovers and no ice machine on our floor, shower disgusting and water temp uncontrollable, small tv with limited channels, heat in the room was overwhelming and unadjustable. Hotel looks nice from outside and lobby but the rooms and service were atrocious. Highly highly highly recommend chosing a different hotel. 👎👎
The room temperature is either hot or hotter, the flatscreen tv was super small, beds uncomfortable, lights in weird places, the floor rug was coming apart in some places. Would not recommend to anyone with some kind of standards
Fantastic stay! Do you know they let pets into the hotel? They keep a box of treats at the front desk for your fur babies! And the history in this place? It's fascinating! Every brick has a story it feels like. Swimming is lovely, bed was very comfortable. Slight noise issue with a neighbor, but the hotel staff handled it instantly. Their lounge is great, won a few bucks on the machines. Food tastes ALMOST as good as moms home cooking. All in all, I'm very very pleased with this hotel and its team. You'll see me again, thanks! :)
Had a night stay here and needed a night away from home. Staff was very friendly! Room was great, and food was delicious. After spending some time hanging out in the pool, we made our way down to the crickets comedy club where we enjoyed a night of laughter. Would reccomend to anyone wanting an enjoyable experience for some fun and a great place to stay. Also being in the heart of downtown there is so much to do in walking distance as well!
This hotel has a reputation that I believe is largely overblown, it may not be the fanciest hotel - but it has a lot of character and attributes that make it a great place to stay when in Winnipeg. Firstly, it's centrally located which makes it close to the action, whether you're going to visit The Forks, the Manitoba Museum Complex or any of the arts and entertainment along Portage or in the Exhange District. Secondly - it's affordably priced; with chain hotels offering less and less but charging more and more these days, it's nice to see a hotel continue to care about it's guests by offering a later than most check out time (Noon), a delicious breakfast (with lots of hot and cold choices - made a la carte just for you) and a comfortable and peaceful nights sleep. It is legitimately the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at, rarely saw another person but knew I had a neighbour only from occasionally hearing a door close. The rooms are clean and comfortable - some newly renovated (laminate flooring instead of carpet). It's also immaculately clean - typically you envision an older hotel being run down and in poor shape but between renovating the rooms and keeping up on housekeeping the only thing you have to worry about is parking - which can be an expensive proposition. I parked down the street in another hotel's parkade rather than across the street at the parkade in front of the hotel, I would recommend doing the same. They also have security staff regularly patrolling and keeping an eye on things, this part of Winnipeg can be troublesome - but there is ZERO reason for concern about your safety being at this hotel, I have stayed here many, many times for business and have had absolutely no problems. In fact, less than no problems as the staff is friendly and treats you like family. Also - if you like carnival rides, the elevators are a hoot; can't say I've been in a faster elevator in my life, sometimes it will even leave without you! In all seriousness - give this hotel a chance the next time you're in Winnipeg - you won't be sorry you did!…
