We were visiting Winnipeg to see our daughter who is studying at University there. The Fairmont had an amazing deal for their rooms and as a fan of the marque, we booked a 4 day weekend there. It is in a grand location, at the famous corner of Portage and Main. It lived up to its windy reputation. We arrived and the bellmen who would also look after parking our car were friendly and courteous. Check in was easy and quick. We had a lovely room on a high floor. But there was construction out in front of the hotel, not all of the restaurants were open, some of the facilities were closed, all due to the pandemic. They did not provide any housekeeping while we were there which was OK but annoying. I think the mattress was old and sunken in the middle and the pillows did not support my neck very well (even after asking for firmer pillows). But the positives? The bellmen were terrific. Nick at the front desk was fantastic. He facilitated restaurant reservations for us, and regularly checked in with my via text to ensure I was happy and had everything I needed. The fitness facility was well appointed and the view from the 21st floor was lovely. In short, given the tough times of the Covid Pandemic and restrictions in Manitoba, they were all trying their hardest to make us feel welcome. We will return, if the room rates remain competitive. One final note...given that the Fairmont is a luxury hotel chain as part of the French Accor Hotels group, the Accor App did not allow me to check out remotely and I had to do the check out in person at the front desk.

This hotel has seen better days. First of all, we got out of our cab, and there were three men in bellhop attire in the lobby. Not one of them opened the door for us or came to help us, they just stood around looking useless. The check-in was okay, but then we got to our room. What a disgraceful dump! The door safety chain was broken and hanging by a thread. The desk was wobbly and unstable. The lamps beside the bed were both sounding like they were shorting out. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was hanging by a thread. The carpet was damp in front of the coffee station. And generally, the entire hotel was worn out and run down, the staff unmotivated. Why on earth weren't renovations done during the Covid downtime? To be fair, the front desk did agree to move us to a different room, but it was also pretty drab. And I want to say that as a person under 5', the unusually high bathroom vanity made it nearly impossible for me to wash my face or brush my teeth. I got a take-out sandwich from the Grab and Go menu, and when I opened it to eat it, it was so dry and gross, there's no way it was fresh that day, or even a few days. So awful. This hotel is a poor example of the Fairmont brand.

Every person I interacted with was so friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed as well. There was a thoughtful snack left for me as I am a member of their rewards program. Valet service was also easy and accommodating. There was some construction at the front but it did not interfere or disrupt my stay in any way.

Very clean, comfortable and enjoyable. Would have liked water in our room as we were directed to the vending machine in the concourse level and the machine was sold out of water bottles and front desk does not carry any. Otherwise great stay!!!!!

Overnight stay prior to a high tea event at the hotel. Great stay in a 2 bedroom suite. Very clean. Easy check in and check out. Libby nicely decorated for Christmas. The valet parking ( costs extra) is a great feature in a downtown hotel and during a Winnipeg winter. Room was spacious and well laid out. A keurig and kettle in each room. Great linens and towels. It is however a bit worn. Carpets need replacing and so do the bathtubs. The mattresses as well could be replaced..a bit saggy. At this price point and with Fairmont being a more luxury brand it is a bit incongruent Overall a great experience
