The local knowledge the staff offers adds a very fine touch to the wonderful log cabin surroundings, warm hearths in the lobby and dining room, and comfortable, clean rooms. This lodging was acquired over the internet, and I received a lot of help planning my trip that way. The lodge is in town, yet has the feel of country life,... More

We visited Churchill in late June 2016 and stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The accommodations were wonderful, and the staff in incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived feeling like weary travelers and departed feeling like family. Staff provided transportation to/from the airport and arranged tours included boating on Hudson Bay to watch Beluga whale, walking the area's many historic... More

Me and my Best Friend went for vacation and had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel was excellent, considering we are in a town with only about 600 people, I was super impressed that the hotel provided all that it did along with WiFi. Our Tour Guide, David, provided us with amazing views of various wildlife (Polar Bears, Whales and... More

My friend David & I stayed @ Lazy Bear Lodge & did the tours Aug. 17-21. I have traveled extensively & this trip is well worth it! Our guide Dave was the best of the best!!! 😀 Totally kind, knowledgeable, @ one with the enviroment, & mentally very sharp with a great sense of humor! The tours were full of... More

I am not sorry I went. However, it was less than I had expected. There was a lot of down time in a town with virtually nothing to do. I am lucky that I had a triple crown in that I did see Polar Bears, Belugas and the Northern Lights. Travel in the "big boat" up the bay is VERY... More

Some things that need improvement: - At the arrival, it'll be more helpful if the guides can be more clear with maybe a Lazy Bear Lodge flag. There were 2 groups that had arrived and it was a bit confusing at first. - The bus that we use to get around, some of the windows won't open, and on a... More

My partner and I stayed at the lodge for 4 nights during our Lazy Bear Expeditions 'Ultimate Arctic Summer Adventure' tour package. The lodge is lovely, crafted from wood from the boreal forest and old railway sleepers - it's exactly the type of place you'd hope to experience in this part of the world. The rooms have a full bath... More

Our family loved the lazy bear. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate my sons dietary and food restrictions. The tours were well staffed and felt like we got so much out of the experience. A definite must stay when in Churchill.

Our first trip to Churchill could not have been better with our stay at Lazy Bear. You are greeted by staff from around the world who are passionate about the area and what they do. The location is the first major building as you enter town from the airport. An ever-expanding log cabin built by Wally and Dawn, the proprietors.... More
