Just when I thought I’ve heard everything… We called to order some desserts. Their website states that the room service has a mandatory 18% surcharge. Imagine our surprise that for that you need to actually do their job for them, aka go to the restaurant to collect your order. Yes, you are paying them 18% “service charge” and YOU are doing the service. You are welcome.
My family absolutely loved our stay at Nita Lake Lodge. Rooms: We stayed in a lake view suite, which was gorgeous and well-appointed. The soaking tub is amazing, robes and slippers were provided, beds were comfy, and we didn’t find it too noisy. Food: The restaurant was AMAZING - we had breakfast included, and i love that we could get it delivered to our room for no extra charge. We also did the spring special pre-fixe dinner for $49 which offered huge portions of delicious French-inspired food. Service: warm and incredibly helpful. We rented bikes with no fuss and were even able to do laundry - you can get detergent and petty cash at the front desk. Overall we loved NLL and would come back in a heart beat. It was actually lovely staying out of Whistler Village as there were fewer tourists, easy access to bike/walking paths, and a reasonably priced liquor store literally right next door. 10/10 can’t recommend enough!…
The location on Creek Side is great. Quiet by the lake, only 5 minutes to the lifts. There is a good atmosphere, it is friendly and quite relaxed. The rooms are very well equipped and spacious but are showing their age. The food is good, though since the last time I stayed the main restaurant has rebranded and become less formal. Which is certainly a notch down in terms of quality and innovation. It was special before, whereas now it is simply good. The ski room by the lifts is an excellent facility. A good car park below (which is an extra expense but for Whistler standards is not bad). The staff are very friendly and welcoming (except reception if you try to checkin before given what seems to be a toughly enforced 4pm checkin time). However, there are clearly issues in terms of shortages. Service in restaurants (always exceptionally friendly) varied from satisfactory to extraordinarily slow (with the default being slow - the servers always seemed busy and flustered - one a few occasions breakfast was cold as the food had been waiting). The cleaners for the rooms were friendly; on a good day, the room was cleaned to a satisfactory standard, on a bad day, bathrooms not cleaned, bins not emptied and the servicing not complete until late in the afternoon. Having had an excellent stay many years ago, expectations were high. Overall I enjoyed the stay and probably would return because of the location, room quality and general atmosphere. I would still probably choose Nita Lake Lodge over the big hotels in the main village or the Four Seasons as they are just too people. But Nita Lake Lodge has got to get more staff out and sort out of the service as it is simply not good enough for the money and was disappointing. …
I overall liked the resort. I’d give it a 4.5 but just rounded up to a 5. The common spa and pool is lacking for a place of this caliber. The spa service was good but expensive. I was there during the winter in Feb and the place is booked fully but the lifts don’t seem busy at creekside which is great. The place is clean, the vibe is excellent, and the rooms are designed beautifully.
I have stayed in this hotel many times. In my view, the level of service has declined and this is at best a three star. The management is unfortunately inflexible and will not accommodate customers. On our last stay we were not able to make use of the shuttle on a weekend as apparently the vehicle was out of service. I only found out after waiting outside for a few minutes as no one brought it to our attention when we checked in. I then had to go back to the room and took my vehicle into the village. I was not able to find parking. As a result, a perfectly good day of skiing was lost. This really makes no sense for a hotel located outside of the village that advertises a shuttle service to the village. I also noticed the back door providing access to the lake was broken and only one of two lifts was operational. It is simply not an acceptable level of service for a hotel. Moreover, if this is the level of service you provide you should charge far less. My two cents, avoid this hotel if you can as if anything arises you can expect the management to tell you its your problem and too bad so sad. I also experienced a subsequent issue with this hotel, where they refused to permit me to cancel a reservation without paying the full amount of the stay despite having had more than 48 hours notice, and during peak season. A complaint to the Better Business Bureau does not appear to have been responded to by this hotel. I would not return to this hotel if they paid me to stay there. …
Nita Lake Lodge is a beautiful venue to have your wedding. They have stunning locations for pictures, several ceremony and reception spots to choose from, and the food was out of this world. They were extremely accommodating with my many food allergies! The rooms were so cozy and all the staff was amazing. I would absolutely recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Whistler, or just looking for a romantic place to stay!
We want to take a moment to thank the Team at Nita for making our wedding an incredible day. The staff were so accommodating with all of our dietary needs and allergies. The menu was amazing - big shout out to the chicken and waffles, they were the hit of the night. The set up was done and ready to go for our coordinator to get in the night before - she was very thankful for that. The team of staff the night of were so professional and kept us on schedule, the bar staff was super friendly and everyone loved them. One of the lead staff (I feel terrible because I forget his name!! I blame the alcohol!) looked after us all night. He made sure we were at the table prior to our food being served and literally was so helpful with keeping us on track. Thomas was an absolute angel and even ran into the back to grab me ice cream sandwiches when the night was over. I believe Thomas was the same person who went in the back and got a vegan alternative to the ice cream bars for my friend. We honestly have nothing but amazing things to say about our wedding, and that is because our venue and staff and coordinators were so amazing to work with. All of our guests couldn't believe how great the rooms were and the level or service provided by Nita Lake Lodge. 10/10 would recommend people to get married at Nita Lake Lodge, the staff, the service, the rooms, the lodge and of course the views were all amazing. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding and Nita played a huge part in that.…
From parking the car in the underground car park, checking in and the lovely room with fireside lounge a perfect stay. Our room was large and had lovely bathrooms facilities as well as functional kitchenette if needed. The restaurant excellent service and food. Breakfast looking over the lake as the sun rose was magical. Great walks around the lake as well as free use of paddle boards and canoes. Local shops and restaurants if needed and a short simple drive to the centre of town. The self use laundry was perfect for us long term travellers. Thanks for a great stay.
We stayed 4 nights at the lodge. It was not that busy. Staff were accommodating and had us in our room on time. It was not possible to get an early check in. We were able to the time before. The rooms are getting dated. We had issues with the sliding patio door. The room smelled musty and the carpets and furniture needed upgrading. The room could have been cleaner.
Service is exceptionally slow, waited an hour to receive food and another hour to receive bill. Waitresses & managers walking around but don’t check on the tables. Rooms are not well maintained, blood stained sheets, leaking bath tub, sliding door to balcony could not open or close properly- cold air through the night in primary bedroom. More disappointing is not being able to eat at The Den….we did not know we have to book dinner & breakfast over a well before we arrived. We had to eat Christmas lunch at another hotel, along with most dinners- no preference given to guests of the hotel. Overall, for the cost, not a great experience at all! Very disappointing 1st Christmas in Canada!
