Really comfortable stay at the Pan Pacific Village Centre once again. Central location but still quiet. The room was clean and cozy, the complimentary breakfast service was great (lots of choices, delivered right on time, good portion size). Could always be a little less expensive but good value for the village.
Fantastic service! The staff were always helpful even when I forgot to put my breakfast order in & when I left some things in my room after checking out. We had a wonderful stay in this very well run & friendly hotel.
I have stayed at this property many times. This time was just not great. Terrible value for money. Cannot recommend anymore. They are charging way too much (over $1k a night) for a mediocre experience where there really just aren't enough people running the hotel. I understand there are staffing issues. But when a hotel charges $1k a night, the guest is paying enough that they shouldn’t have to deal with that. If you are not able to offer a $1k a night experience, don’t rip off guests and you should lower your rate. I don’t have any issue with the staff - the ones I dealt with were great and clearly just coping with a terrible management who sets high expectations, charges a lot, but then fails to deliver. Here are the main issues: 1) absolutely no help. If you show up with a full car and kids, don’t expect any help unloading your car or getting your bags to your room. I have never stayed at a hotel at this price point where there is literally no one to help at 4pm checkin time. Checkout did go much more smoothly - but it is not consistent. 2) no cleaning service for stays less than 3 days. You can pay three thousand dollars and they won’t even clean your room! And they don’t tell you when you book. You get an email telling you the day before checkin. Staffing issues maybe - but again - for $1k a night, you should have your room cleaned. 3) no one answers the phone at the front desk. Ever. Tourists stay here and may have questions. Tourists who might think they are staying at a high functioning hotel given the rate and there might be someone to answer questions. Sorry - no. 4) Just zero help. Checking out was a total disaster. Unloading a car in a cold snap with a crying baby, skis, some giant food delivery semi trucks stuck in the parking lot. This might be ok if you are staying at some budget place, but you’re not. This is billed as a top tier hotel that charges $1k a night. I have stayed here 5+ times. Never again. The owner of this place (I looked him up - he’s some investor in San Diego) is basically just ripping people off by selling a 2 star experience for 5 star prices. I was supposed to stay again in Feb and switched to Airbnb since no one is cleaning my room anyway and it's 50/50 whether anyone even helps me with my bags. I'm better off saving a ton of money and just going in knowing I will do it myself. The hotel is also dated and airbnbs are probably nicer at this point. This dude in San Diego should improve the property or sell it so someone else can offer a better experience. Again - no negativity towards the staff. When there was someone - they were great. It's just that the hotel is charging too much for being half staffed.…
Massively over priced. No service and no facilities. Not what I expected for $1,000 a night. The location is great, but this isn't a hotel its a self service apartment. No room service, noone to help with bags, no restaurant. I would not recommend staying here given the price.
Stayed on 5th floor with amazing views of the mountains. Super quiet, beds were magical and room lacked absolutely nothing! Excellent as usual! We were in room 5515 so if you don't have any health issues, using the stairwell was super easy to get to and from the lobby.
