I had the opportunity to spend a few weekends up at the Journeyman Lodge in Callaghan Country and I fell instantly in love. My experience started days before with great communication and friendly service helping me to plan my trip. The morning of arrival went off without a hitch and I was able to rent all top of the line... More

As much as I’d love to say I’m an adventurer, I’m do not carry the skills necessary to go deep into the backcountry on my own. The Callaghan Country offers the same experience without having to beg your super outdoorsy friend for a guided tour up in the mountains. It’s quite the ski up, but the views are well worth... More

The food was fantastic (four course dinners on pare with Whistler’s finest Restaurants)…the skiing was the best I’ve done in my 20 plus years of living in Whistler…truly a bucket list experience. Loved the wood fired sauna; it overlooks a partially exposed riverbed covered by 25 foot deep pillows of snow. The Staff and Volunteers go the extra distance to... More

What an amazing trip! It took us just under 4 hours to cross country ski in but it was well worth it. The staff were welcoming and gave us a quick tour. We had a twin room on the 3rd floor and it was just enough space for the 2 of us. The appetizers and 4 course meal were delicious,... More

Overall this was a fun trip for our group and right up our alley for adventure and fun in the snow! Please note I am an avid backcountry hiker, snow shoe, and am not a picky traveller by any means, I usually stay in hostels. But I would like to make a few notes/pros & cons for people to be... You'll need to be fit to make the 13.4km mostly uphill trek to the lodge on x-country skis or snowshoes, but it's worth the effort. We spent a relaxing weekend away with our family, enjoying the cozy Euro-style lodge in a stunning setting. The best part? No cell service. We enjoyed great convos with the other guests and with each... More

The lodge was cozy, food was good, backcountry access was great - once you trekked the 14Km in to the lodge. Not for the faint of heart, but a memorable adventure. We x-country'd in then used touring equipment to climb from the lodge. Skins on x-country gear on the way in is recommended.

Room was very cozy and the entire Lodge had a very welcoming, home-like feel to it. We looked forward to returning to it after long fun days out ski touring away from the lodge. Staff was really friendly and the food for dinner was simply amazing! 4 courses and different every night. Yum!

Journeyman Lodge is set amongst beautiful mountain scenery and is really a place to relax away from daily hustle and bustle. The staff are friendly and helpful and contribute greatly to making one feel at home. We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday and all enjoyed the achievement of skiing up to the lodge. It was family weekend so my daughter... More

This was a magical experience. Great food, great guest company, great sleep, great staff and overall fabulous experience. I cannot recommend enough for those who prefer an off the grid vs fancy experience.
