Excellent service, excellent quality. Love the Ski Concierge and Hot Chocolate and Cookies Apres Ski. Its like being in a James Bond Film. The big thick timbers and high ceilings are a great feel. The rooms are spacious and appointed top notch.
This is our second time at the FS Whistler. Let me say two things first. It’s the best hotel in Whistler. For skiing resorts in Canada I would say that only the Quintessence at Tremblant is better - just slightly. Second, you have to accept that luxury costs more all around. We paid over $1300 each night for two of the most basic rooms - per room with no credits or breakfast. We gladly paid over $200 a day for breakfast and hundreds more to eat at Sidecut. Leading up to our stay we had a lot of frustration with the concierge service. We also had a few service issues during our stay that I won’t get into. I would have never complained about any of those issues despite the fact that they disappointed us. Here is why I am giving this hotel such a low review for this stay. My husband was not well on our last day -today- and ordered a piece of toast for breakfast. He actually said “just a single piece is fine”. No butter no jam. Just one slice of toast. That is exactly what he got: One slice of white bread. So imagine our surprise when on our bill we were charged $10 for that one slice of plain bread. Really, Four Seasons? Could we afford it? Yes. We wouldn’t be at this hotel if we couldn’t. But I was floored at how crass it was for them to do so. Will we come back to the FS? Maybe - but as far as this particular hotel - we will be leaving with a slightly sour taste in our mouths and remain entirely flabbergasted at how the hotel could get it so wrong just to make an extra ten bucks.…
Let me preface by saying this is not our first time here and we have stayed in numerous four seasons so we are used to a certain level of service. Let’s start with the A-team which is due to the amazing concierge team! Aleks, Brandon, Alessa and Victoria you all did an outstanding job planning our entire trip and navigating through my many emails. The valet bellman team led by Andrew also deserves many praises. Andrew did a good job making sure each guest got some use of the house car. The shuttle they provide was timely, clean and very useful as well. Chris was my favorite driver! Every single shortcoming and frustration came directly from in room dining. We had an issue with them every single day! -s’mores treat for the kids they offered was never brought up. -forgot half our breakfast order one morning. -offered to bring blankets when we ordered the special breakfast tower on the balcony. I never saw them. -delivered breakfast one morning 2 hours before our requested time- that happened to be on our sleep in day! -last morning I requested breakfast to be delivered 6:30am as we had to head to the airport 7:30. 6:45 rolls around and nothing. They try to say I didn’t put a time on the card. Luckily I took a pic before and the time clearly said 6:30. Can’t pull the wool over my eyes team. My advice to them do not offer something to a guest and not follow through. I understand we are in a pandemic still and everyone is short staff. However the prices they charge do not adjust accordingly so we should receive the same level of service. The hotel was not even busy yet. For guests arriving soon please be aware they just closed down the gym for use on 12/22. Don’t bother packing gym clothes or sneakers. Starting today 12/24 they no longer allow in room dining staff inside so expect to roll the cart in yourself and set up your own food. I imagine they will close the spa soon. Also the Covid test back to the US was $200 per person!!! $800 for my family of 4 ugh! While this visit was not our favorite as far as the hotel went we still had a magical time in Whistler. Highly suggest the dog sled tour, ice skating at the village, and snowmobiling. The kids ski school and the ski concierge is fabulous. Extremely organized and nicely staffed. You don’t even have to put your kids boots on or carry their skis! They do it all! Transportation to and from the Vancouver airport is pricey almost $600 (with tip) so budget $1200 just for that round trip. Request Ken if you can he was so nice even bought donuts for my kids on our drive back. Hopefully Covid will be gone next Xmas or we may be looking to go to another FS. The Covid testing is a pain in the arse we had to take 3 total.…
The best winter resort ever. What a great service, hospitality. Having a concierge at the Blackcomb Mountain is making skiing super comfortable. Sidecut is a world class steak house that I recommend to everyone.
I’ve stayed at Four Seasons Properties on 5 continents and I do so because of the exceptional staff at each one and Whistler is no exception. Every team member from valet, to front of house, concierge, housekeeping, bartenders (get the Evergreen Old Fashioned) and beyond are Top Notch. A very special shout out to Evan Pazur and Rosemary Bueninck who made the trip extra special. The Four Seasons is lucky to have them both. Location is just minutes from Whistler village and the lifts. The ski concierge makes life easy so you don’t have to carry around all your gear. They also have rentals in-house which makes it seamless The house car and shuttle means you ever have to wait for a ride. Best property in Whistler hands down
