The checkin at Aava was friendly and efficient. I had a deluxe room on the 3rd floor. It had a mountain view (see picture). The bathroom had a bath, hairdryer and dispensers for shampoo, body wash, conditioner and a box of tissues. A small bar of soap and moisturiser were provided daily. The bedroom had a deluxe king bed, Keurig coffeemaker (two earl grey tea and coffee pods provided on arrival), iron and ironing board, safe, small refrigerator and flat screen cable tv. I had a comfortable nights sleep with little noise heard from other guests. The sauna was not as hot as I would have liked and the hot tub was very hot. The hot tub and pool were very busy from 4pm onwards. The gym was small with only one treadmill, exercise bike, cross trainer. weight machine (out of order) and free weights. I would stay again for the convenient access to the Whistler shops and restaurants. Some points for improvement - room key cards stopped working after a few days. The hot water was not hot enough for a bath on one night. The walk to the nearest lift takes 5 minutes. It would be great if there was a free morning and afternoon hotel shuttle service provided as the hotel is not on the courtesy bus route.

We stayed here for a week in a room with a bedroom/living room. The room was big and had good facilities such as a fridge, coffee machine, kettle etc. The couch bed was super comfortable so worked really well for us, as it was actually realistic to sleep on the sofa bed for an extended period. The staff were absolutely great here, they are really helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, just over the road from the village so was great and not too far to carry skis etc. There are ski lockers in the hotel too which are free. The ski rental in the hotel is REALLY expensive so i'd suggest going and demo-ing skis instead of renting here. But overall really great. The rooms have weird lighting, mainly provided by lamps, but that's ok as the bathrooms are well lit. had one incident with really noisy people in the room next door, being out in the hallway late, so know the rooms aren't super well soundproofed but the staff handled this very quickly and were able to get them to be quiet with minimal fuss.

We stayed at the Aava for 6 nights on our visit to Whistler and thought it was a very clean and friendly hotel - staff were very engaging and helpful and provided us with plenty of tips to explore the village etc. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a great bed and very clean amenities. The hotel is only a ten minute walk from the mountain side lifts and very close to the village shopping and restaurants. Parking is convenient and fair priced and this is a pet friendly hotel.
The hot tub, sauna and pool were great to relax in after a hard days skiiing and Black Tie Ski Rentals are on site to make it easy to hire your skis, boots or boards.
Overall a very nice place to stay with good facilities and close to all that Whistler has to offer.

Stayed here for a week with my husband; first visit to Whistler.
Had read a few negative reviews before leaving home but need not have worried: everything was great.
Our room looked over towards the Westin Hotel, was light, spacious and very clean and had a large comfortable bed. The bathroom had a bath and complimentary toiletries. We heard no noise at all (3rd floor) and slept really well.
We went to Moguls in the village square for breakfast each morning and the 5 minute walk to the gondola was easy.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly; our coffee maker was not working so a kettle was brought up to our room without delay.
Would stay here again and would love to return!

First time in Whistler after Covid -restrictions were lifted. Stayed in Aava hotel. Great experience. Cleanest hotel I’ve ever seen in my life. Flow organized well to keep 6ft distance. Small but useful pool and hot tub, reserve a 1,5 h time slot, then they clean entire area and let other group in. Complimentary gowns and towels. Rooms super clean. Coffee etc. supplies given from the front desk on your arrival.
This hotel is very conveniently located next to the village stroll with all of its bars and restaurants. Far enough to be quiet though. Minigolf next door. Plenty of underground parking space. Taller rigs have few spots outside.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We just got back from a week's vacation in Whistler, BC. I am taking the time to write a review because when we were looking for a place to stay, I wanted to read recent reviews about other people's experiences.

We are a family of four who all snowboard. We originally booked a room with 2 queen beds, but because of the amount of stuff we had with us, we needed more space. Thankfully, Raj and Tyler went above and beyond to help us locate a larger room. We booked a suite and an adjoining 1 bedroom king room both on the 4th floor. This change, made a world of difference for us as we were able to enough space to relax. Not to mention the high ceilings (maybe they were 12 or 15 feet high), gas fireplace, and mountain views. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and my kids liked the Murphy bed and pullout couch.

There was also a microwave, dishwasher, stovetop, small refrigerator, and Keruig coffee maker. I know other reviews mentioned noise but I am a very light sleeper and can say I didn't hear anything on this floor. The hotel and rooms were meticulously cleaned. The location is fantastic, a quick walk to the village and lifts. The hot tub, pool, fire pit, and sauna were amazing! The staff were always smiling and seemed genuinely happy. When we go back, we will definitely be staying at Aava again. A+++

Location: good

Service: ok

Hotel parking: needs better signage for directions to elevators

Cleanliness/maintenance: I have no doubt this hotel was great when it first opened but it looks like nothing has been done in terms of maintenance and cleaning since it opened. The bed linen didn't even fully go over the mattress it was only wrapped half way around and as such you were sleeping on a wrinkled mess. The window barely closed as the latch is loose and you couldn't pull it back closed to lock. The walls were thing and I could easily hear a crying child next door. There are multiple drilling holes on the window itself from them moving the latch upwards over the years. There are holes in the ceiling from curtain rod being removed/moved. This is sketchy as there are so many cases of hidden cameras being found in hotel rooms. A simple mudding and paint touch up would have fixed this. Being as we are still in an era of covid, we did some quick lysol wipes around the room when we entered (phone, remote, handles, tables, etc) our wipes came out dirty. The dust and dirt in and around corners, tv, bathroom, the hairdryer was just absolutely disgusting. The fan in the washroom, ac unit could use a good cleaning. I would not give this hotel any thing more than a 2 star rating. I've stayed in hotels ranging from 2 to 5 stars and my expectations when I go to a 3.5 star hotel is a lot higher than what you get here. I would not stay here again.

Pretty basic, clean room with a window view of the backside of the driving range and no real sitting area. Tiny fridge with broken bits inside so your beer or pop came crashing out every time it was opened. Single serving coffee maker would not heat the water and front desk said, “That’s just how they are”. So we had to go out and get coffee each day. The pool area looked decent and they had mitigations in place for COVID19, which was nice (limits on numbers of people in pool, extra cleaning, hand sanitizer and distancing). If you’re going on a ski trip, it seems like a solid, clean, basic hotel, but not quite what I wanted for this trip. The location is a short easy walk from the action in the village.

Beautiful hotel and absolutely made so wonderful by the fantastic staff. Every day we were greeted so welcome by everyone. Tyler especially is so fantastic and had so much enthusiasm. The housekeeping were like fairies who transformed our room.
!! We rented the go pro most days and all the staff so keen to help beautiful hot tub and pool area. Don’t be put off if it’s crowded. Grab a beer and get to know people from all over. We made lovely friends and the pool area is a fantastic plus to this hotel. There is a pizza take away, supermarket and liquor store 2 mins away from the hotel. Also moguls coffee house 2 mins away does fantastic breakfast bagels and coffee and open at 7pm. If you are British we thoroughly recommend you get a monzo card it tells you straight away what you spend in pounds with a fantastic rate. Spicy sports ski hire also 2mins away or the black tie in house gear. Everyone amazing we can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Beds so comfy we wanted to take them home. My son lost his phone and the staff located it so quickly. Such a wonderful stay. Thanks so much Aava hotel from the Jones Bignell family x

Stayed at Aava hotel in February, accommodations were excellent. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. From the moment my group of eight arrived the staff handled every efficiently and began by saying “no stress” when they helped with our luggage. They truly were exceptional. The rooms were a nice size and were clean. We asked for microwaves in the room and they said they would see what they could do. We ended up each getting a microwave in each of the four rooms. The location was perfect. It is a short walk across the road and you are in the center of the village. Close to the grocery store and the liquor store, probably less then a five minute walk. To get to the gondola was a little further but still very close, probably around five to ten minute walk at most,

Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if ever ever return to Whistler!

Thanks to the hotel staff for making it such a wonderful stay.

Cheers

Moguls coffee shop opens at 7am and does amazing breakfast bagels, oatmeal, muffins and can take away or sit in. Really good prices when converted to pounds. Excellent food. Hot buns opens at 8 along with most other places. They are a few minutes walk from the hotel so we used moguls most days as we were up early
