Amazing large and comfortable suite with full kitchen that is right in the center of Whistler
The suite was really large and felt big enough to host 4 people. There is also a full kitchen that you can cook your own meal if you want. The living room is amazing with its own gas fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and my only complaint is the TV mount in the bedroom… I mean it could be a lot better (see the photo)

Try to avoid Whistler during peak season!
I’m a frequent traveller and have top tier super elite status with Air Canada and Accor Hotels. I also have some minor status with Marriott Bonvoy as an Elite member. I am in Whistler 2 to 3 times a year so my family can ski out west. This the first time in years that I booked this hotel and unfortunately it was during peak season. The hotel property is actually in a great spot next to the lifts and has a great dining area that is open and spacious and looks modern. However, the service standards during peak New Years season is definitely subpar. The hotel was at 100 percent capacity and there was definite strain on service delivery she likely from lack of sufficient manpower. Examples were lack of timely cleaning of the suite or if it was done, it was done poorly as if someone did the bare minimum. I know at the Four Seasons and Fairmont, a housekeeping manager checked the rooms after the cleaning staff to ensure quality of the delivered product. At the Westin it does not appear there is any over-site of the service delivered to the floors. Do NOT order in room dining from the hotel. The food is good but takes an incredible amount of time for delivery. I have young children and we got there at night and the kids were starving after flying in from across the country. We ordered wings, pizza and salmon. This took over an hour and a half for delivery due to how busy things were in the kitchen. Unfortunately I was told 30 minutes when I placed the order. Calling service express which is the line to reach their service department was over ten minutes of holding on the phone to check when my order was being delivered. Unfortunately they were not able to tell me but they said the order would be prioritized. It was clear that the hotel employees were lacking in numbers relative to the number of guests. In terms of eating, our family enjoyed their buffet breakfast and dinner on the non peak season night when it was not busy was actually quite good. I actually preferred eating at the hotel rather than eating outside. I spoke Grant the overnight hotel manager, and he is quite a personable individual. I can see there is a good set of individuals but the actual hotel really needs more help in terms of sheer number of employees to deliver quality in a timely manner during the holiday time period. Overall, the hotel is actually good but I would not stay during peak season. You will get much more enjoyment of the hotel and Whistler itself when things are quieter. As a side note, for overseas travellers, There is much more capacity at Vail, Colorado with more hotels and restaurants. There have been no new hotels or buildings made in the Whistler area for many many years and the infrastructure is not as robust as Vail itself. If you have not been to Vail, I would highly recommend it.

    Ideal multi-generational family getaway
We had an exceptional time in Whistler with our family in mid-August thanks to Andrew and the friendly staff at The Westin. From the moment of our arrival we felt welcome, and the safety protocols regarding masks and sanitizing were appropriate and respected by everyone we encountered. Our family had three rooms together at the end of the hall, and we never felt it was too busy in spite of the resort being at capacity. Platinum Elite status was recognized generously which was a real treat. Breakfast at Grill & Vine was satisfying, and never felt crowded. Bike storage was offered complimentary. The only item that may have been challenging was pool access, since a new system to limit group sizes was recently implemented - nevertheless, we were able to book an appointment on their system the night before and enjoyed the pool with the kids every day. It's not large, but very clean and relaxing particularly given the limited access by appointment. The resort is ideally located in the village close to good food and shopping as well as the gondolas and bike trails, making for a good time for a multi-generational family getaway. Thanks Andrew for a great experience!

Everything was great except that they Gave our room to a family of 4, which we booked 6 months in advance The Manager told us it’s Peak Season So we needed the room with twin beds & We had to share a single bed & a pull Out Cot, very uncomfortable They kept us waiting 4 hours sitting in the lobby without a Room …. Not a drink or food or explanations Eventually we were told that’s all we have for you Take it or leave it All other hotels were booked out The next night a room became available & we were given that room

Stayed for one night in a studio suite, the entry level room, during Labour Day weekend. I have to say that Whistler on a holiday weekend wasn’t for me - ridiculously overcrowded and overpriced. However, the Westin felt like an oasis of calm in a manic resort town and as expected for this brand, both room and public areas were exceptional. Check in/out straightforward and staff helpful. Parking seemed a bit limited, with many bays reserved. Our room was large and comfortable, equipped with everything we could have needed with fully equipped kitchen area, sofa, fireplace and one of the cosiest beds I’ve ever slept in. Bathroom was average size, functional but nothing special. Decor was high quality and felt suitably luxurious. Didn’t pay for breakfast here due to price but, in hindsight, with everywhere else in town extremely busy on this weekend perhaps we should have. Only misses out on five ‘stars’ due to exceptionally high prices e.g. parking, but this is an extremely popular tourist town.

I loved everything about my recent stay at The Westin. From the walk up to it from the Gateway Loop to the free shuttle ride back there 3 days later. I only wish I had stayed longer. In my opinion it has the best location in Whistler Village. The staff were so nice and helpful (room upgrade was a huge bonus - as was the recommendation to Vallea Lumina which I had never heard of), the room clean, decent toiletries, comfortable bed - as my review says it ticks every box. I loved sitting on my balcony every morning with a cup of tea. I have worked in Talent Acquisition for another well known big hotel company and I would have hired so many of the staff I met. I just wish I could remember the name of the Guest Services Agent that checked me in as she went way and above, she told me she had previously worked in Abu Dhabi if that helps!

The location of the hotel is good next to the village. They have a very good restaurant for dinner and a la carte breakfast. The beds are really soft and the rooms are really noisy because of the air system that turns itself on and off all night long which makes a lot of noise and it cannot be turned off even if you turn off the airco system in the room. This noise really disturbed our sleep!

This is a nice hotel with an excellent location in Whistler Village. The rooms are nicely appointed, but rather cramped. The refrigerator is too small. The attention to detail should be better given the cost of staying here. Like many hotels they now pad the bill with a $25/day ‘resort fee’. Given the bathtub sized swimming pool and the micro gym that seems unreasonable. Further, there were no staff in attendance at ‘the resort’ area and no towels. The pool is in the shade until afternoon.

What a great couple days we had staying at the Westin in Whistler. I used the App for check in and received a message that my room was ready early. Amazing way of communicating! I had a question for the front desk and used the chat feature in the App and received a response immediately. It was very hot the 2 days I was in Whistler (35 Celsius) and the air conditioning was nice and cold. The pool was clean and just the right temperature. We really enjoyed the hummingbirds on the flowers around the pool. When in Whistler village we knew we were never more than a few minutes away from our room. The breakfast was great and the servers made sure we were educated on how the buffet worked. You could get specialty coffees, cold pressed juice shots and anything off the ordering menu if you wanted something extra special. Totally impressed! As well, I think this was the quietest room I have ever stayed in. I heard nothing from the hallway or neighboring rooms and heard nothing from the pool area even though we were right above it. I had a couple of long naps as a result. The one thing that stood out for me is the the other visitors at the hotel all seemed in a good mood. In the pool, hall ways or at the restaurant, people were cheerful. It felt like a safe "home away from home" where our requests would be granted. First time at the Westin Whistler but we will be back next time for sure.

Great location, adjacent to the Gondola entrance to go top of the mountain and literally in the village. Lots of trail walks nearby as well. Everything is walkable distance away even for groceries or food options. The breakfast was great for a western hotel standard (although not same as asian or arab buffet standards) but it had enough options on the buffet other than the usual scrambled eggs and potatoes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable including lobby and corridor. For long travelers, the hotel also has self coin operator laundry which is a bonus. A large underground car parking. But my only issue was the price per night for car park ($30 I think) for a location where you can expect everyone to arrive by car. Overall, we had a good stay and thoroughly enjoyed the resort. Highly recommend and would definitely come back if we return to Whistler.
