As the title says – Worst Westin hotel I’ve been to! And I’ve been to many – including the ones overseas. Asides from the good check-in and check-out experience, everything about this hotel was either mediocre and average at best; or extremely atrocious! I will not be coming back to this hotel in Whistler and for the price and the star rating – you’re better off anywhere else. I came here for a girls’ one-night trip in Sept 2019 and we booked two rooms. The check-in service went by relatively smoothly; we asked for two rooms close-by and they gave us two mountain views (with 2 queen beds) and just 1 room apart. We also got free wifi and 10% off the restaurant in the hotel as Gold Elite Bonvoy members and I was pretty happy about it since we planned for brunch in the morning at the restaurant. The room itself is a decent size considering that the beds were so big. There’s a mini kitchen (with full sized microwave, oven and dishwasher) and it’s fully stocked! 4 sets of plates and dishes and utensils. The washroom has a separate shower and tub too which is nice but just a bit small on the counter space and lack of extra toiletries… there’s no liquid soap for the shower either (only bar) which I thought was weird. Those are the only good points that I had about this hotel… the rest of our stay was lackluster. It was POURING rain the weekend that we went and we girls dressed up for dinner at Araxi that night. - Strike 1: We asked the front desk for umbrellas; even though we had 2, it wasn’t enough to share for 6 girls. The front desk said they didn’t have any. Not that they were all taken or used – they straight up didn’t have any. Didn’t offer an alternative either… - Strike 2: When we came back after dinner, I went to the front desk and asked to have some extra plates and utensils sent up to my room (we were going to enjoy dessert in our room in the evening). This woman was THE WORST. First of all, she asked if we had any in our room and I said yes – but some of are in the dishwasher and we needed extras. Then she tells me that they cannot send up extra – but “do you need us to send someone to unload your dishwasher?”. I’m kind of surprised she would ask that, why do I need someone to unload it for me? I said no and said, we just need MORE plates and cutlery and she said they didn’t have extras to send us; they only have a set amount for each room. You’re telling me that in a hotel full of thousands of guests AND a restaurant, you can’t spare 2 extra plates and forks for me? HOW does that make sense? I was so confused and she asked again if I needed someone to just “unload my dishwasher for me” and once again, I said no – that was not the point. I got frustrated trying to explain that all I needed were more utensils and just settled for extra towels instead. We only had two sets for 3 girls in the room. She said she would send up the towels… and the towels never showed up. I feel like this woman who was at the front desk just didn’t care. - Strike 3: We had brunch at the Grill & Vine in the hotel the next morning. 5 of us girls decided to go for the buffet and a lot of the food was sitting out for a while. AND there was a HAIR found in the cut-up pineapple in the fruit bar. Disgusting. The smoked salmon was also dry and hard. We weren’t offered any compensation for the hair in the pineapple (which is gross for everyone eating there; not just us). They did give us 10% off for being Bonvoy members… but only after I reminded them and the waitress serving us looked annoyed about it. Overall, I felt that everyone working there was just unpleasant and mad to be there. No one seemed HAPPY to be at work or working in customer service. No one seemed to want to help us and it wasn’t a great experience when you’re paying for all of these services (like no hair in my food?). I leave this review with 1 star – because the rooms were not terribly disgusting, just older. And another star for the convenient location (being inside the village) and the check-in and out was seamless. Other than that, I can’t say that I’ll ever come back or stay at this location again. It made me feel unwelcome and a nuisance to be there.

Unfortunately while we do supply umbrellas at the front desk and concierge in addition to those in the guest rooms, inclement weather has the tendency to increase their popularity and they may run out. It’s the second time I’ve had the pleasure of staying at this hotel in Whistler which is a short drive from Vancouver. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite. Check in was fast, staff friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. One of my favourite things to do at Marriott hotels is watch the Marriott Bonvoy channel - they show stories and moments of people around the world. The videography and storytelling is brilliant and entertaining. I highly recommend this hotel.

Post a long holiday in East and West Canada, I decided to revisit Whistler at the end of a cruise. Staying MARRIOTT throughout my holiday, Westin Whistler was a great hotel to finish on. Post a scenic journey from Vancouver, I was most warmly and professionally greeted by Jatin, who gave a thorough insight into all this lovely hotel offers. I was upgraded to an excellent one bedroom suite with a picturesque balcony view, which was very well appointed with the wonderful Heavenly bed, high end toiletries and linens. The kitchen has all anyone could wish for. Housekeeping is first class. Murray Lowe, the charming General Manager, sets a very high standard of service in his staff, throughout the hotel. Marriott Bonvoy Chat attended immediately to every request, and their sole intent was my stay satisfaction, which was 100%. The best "Chat" service of any MARRIOTT I've stayed with, thank you. Breakfast at Grape & Vine was very good, managed by personable Djordje, who followed through on every request, along with Cesar, my server, who was most attentive. Checkout with Zoe was very pleasant, and allowed me to see Jatin again to thank him for this memorable stay. Highly recommend this hotel for all.

We stayed for one night at the Westin Whistler in conjunction with my husband's participation in the Whistler Gran Fondo. This was our second time doing so and I can't speak highly enough of the staff at the Westin. I showed up at 7am and they absolutely accommodated all of our extremely early check-in queries and had us in our hotel room as soon as he made it to the top of the mountain. The hotel itself is beautiful and our room was the perfect place to relax between our activities! We took advantage of the Westin's proximity to the Whistler Gondola and did the High Note Trail hike, which was stunning. He managed to qualify for next year's race so we will definitely stay again!

Fabulous room overlooking the village. Great checkin, great service by the bellhops. Great breakfast and dinners here. So clean and the staff so helpful. would go back. Great services at the spa and loved relaxing at the pool after a day of hiking. Loved the location as well. A 5 star hotel indeed!
