Imagine you could stay in a boutique hotel but only pay for the part of it you actually use. At Pangea, that’s what we created – designer pod accommodation that’s affordable, central, and social. It’s a hub where guests can meet like-minded travelers, but still have their own personal space at the end of the day. Best of all, we put it right in the heart of Whistler’s iconic village.

Detailed Reviews
When I checked in to this Hostel, Yumi the receptionist was very kind, approachable, helpful and minded my bags before i could check in.
The coffee and food at the restaurant was delicious and affordable for Whistler, it was like the food they serve at Cafes in Australia where I come from and the head waiter was very friendly as well.
It also has a ski storage area where you can leave your skis or snowboard overnight.
By the time I could check in the bed in my pod was pretty comfortable and had some storage space where I can fit my suitcase. I also slept well for a pod hotel.
If you stay here in winter, expect to pay $140 AUD a night as everything in Whistler is super expensive and this is the cheapest.
Next time I come to Whistler, will stay there again.

Hi Gordon, Thanks so much for staying with us for a night, and for your review. And thanks especially for letting us know about Kumi – we spend so much time and effort selecting and training our team, so we're always super pumped to hear about them (positively) by name! We look forward to welcoming you back to Pangea when you're next in Whistler (and if we are fortunate enough to welcome you back, please don't forget to book direct for the best rates guaranteed (if you ever see a better rate we'll beat it) and a complimentary drink on arrival). +1
I stayed 3nts and 4 days, finding Pangea by chance through a quick google search. I specifically chose the accommodation based on the pods & opportunity to have a unique experience. I was extremely impressed by the reasonable price point & the cleanliness of the facility during my stay & would consider it to be between a 5 star hostel & high quality budget hotel. I have stayed in a variety of accommodation types all over the world & would place Pangea within my top 5 experiences. Although the dorms are shared, it still feels extremely private & I loved the layout of where they placed the pods in relation to the showers (2), toilets (3) & change rooms (3), which were all separate. I never had to wait for use of any of these facilities and was extremely impressed by how quiet the E block was, despite being a mixed dorm with I think about 20 pods. I'm a light sleeper, & actually slept extremely well, not even needing the earplugs I normally require to get a restful sleep.
The staff were also very friendly, professional & extremely helpful (a special shout out to Alvin, Cal, Caelan, Stuart & Sean... sorry if I've misspelled any names), who were always happy to answer any questions & made a point to spark up general conversations throughout my stay. They were all the type of people who were just as passionate about travel & genuinely wanted to form connections with others, so it felt as though I was catching up with old friends. I also want to make a special mention about the housekeeping staff I witnessed cleaning my dorm area (E block) over the weekend. There were only a couple of guests in the block so they had started cleaning the dorm prior to the 1-4pm guest lockout (to ensure the safety of their staff & guests during covid). They did an extremely thorough job & really took care in ensuring the pod was in an exceptional state prior to moving on to the next. I think there were about 4-5 of them & they all spoke respectfully to each other, communicated well & kept excellent organisation of which areas to clean next, break times & delegation of tasks. I always feel as though the housekeeping department is taken for granted, so I hope they know that people like myself notice & should be commended for their hard work & dedication to their job.
I really loved everything about this place & had an amazing stay here. I would highly recommend this place to others & will definitely be choosing Pangea in the future.

Honestly an awesome hotel. Exactly what my friend and I were looking for! We stayed for three nights and loved it. The location is absolutely underrated, EVERYTHING is less than a 10 minute walk, regardless of your intent in Whistler, whether it’s biking, skiing, bar hopping, sightseeing, or the village itself. We parked about 8 minutes away for 12 bucks a day and overnight free. Few things to look out for though: their underground hotel parking is 24$ a night. Don’t recommend, since there are so many other options for much less. Also, a load of laundry with them is TWENTY BUCKS. Outrageous pricing since the other places we’d stayed at charged 4-5$ per load. AND it was not ready for 24hours which was insane. Finally, there was extensive cleaning happening in the pods at all hours of the day, which is good but left us pretty much kicked out the entire day. We are locked out from 1-4pm every day for them to clean, but they would also clean at 10am and other random hours. Regardless, the hotel was wonderful. Our best hotel experience at this price point by far. Beds are comfy, the pod white noise fans are godsend, and there is decent storage!

Hi Irene, Thanks for staying with us for 3 nights, and for your comments. As a business that’s constantly trying to innovate and improve, we’re always hungry for guest feedback and constructive criticism, so thank you again for taking the time to write this down. We totally understand your comment on parking – unfortunately this is a general Whistler-specific issue, and with real estate values where they are in the centre of Whistler Village (we have to rent the parking stalls ourselves, we don't own them!) it's financially impossible to create a sustainable business with lower rates (we've pushed as low as we can). That's the downside of us trying to provide the primest parking location (it costs us a fortune!). That being said, we do hope the fact that we're the lowest cost private underground parking in the Village Centre means something! Of course, if you're willing to park further away and/or aren't concerned about parking outdoors, then there are often more cost effective locations available (as you discovered). We also totally relate to your note on laundry. We're not set up to do guest laundry, though we do of course do it for guests on request. That being said, we charge by the load, not by the piece, unlike every other hotel in Whistler, which means that if you’re looking to wash more than a couple T-shirts you’re always better off. There are no public laundromats in Whistler, so you'd unfortunately need to travel to Squamish (a 45 minute drive) to get it done any cheaper. Lastly, as it relates to cleaning, we understand that our cleaning might seem extensive (even excessive), but that's fully intentional in an effort to keep our guests as comfortable and safe in these uncertain (COVID) times. Given that Pangea has so many shared/communal spaces, we feel this is critical. Largely due to our protocols and procedures, we’ve yet to have a single confirmed case of COVID at Pangea, unlike nearly every other property in town, regardless that we're open for guests 24/7. Ultimately everything we do is with your safety in mind. We hope to see you back at Pangea in the future, and provide a flawless experience when we do! And if we’re fortunate enough to welcome you back, please don't forget to book direct (pangeapod.com/bookings) for the best rates guaranteed (if you ever see a better rate we'll beat it) and a complimentary drink on arrival. Warm regards and thanks again for being our guest, The Team at Pangea

The Pod hotel is an amazing option for travellers looking for great drinks, atmosphere and amenities on a budget. Honestly it’s still a great option even if you aren’t on a budget because its so fun to stay in the pods! The entire hotel has been designed beautifully, so even stepping in the shower is a memorable experience. The receptionist named Alvin was so fun and friendly- someone give our man Alvin a raise.
If you’re nervous about noise, they have fans in each pod that double as a white noise machine. I slept deeply every night. I believe you can also get earbuds from the front reception if you need.
I stayed in a female-only room, and we had a great time :) The drinks are crazy cheap for whistler at the rooftop bar, and we got a free drink for booking direct.

I tagged a couple of days skiing on to the end of my business trip to Vancouver and stayed at the Pod.
What a brilliant concept and set up!
Helpful staff, ultra modern technology (keyless entry / payment in restaurant). High quality carpentry, design and general quality of the Pods. Good ski kit storage too.
Quiet time is 22:00-07:00 - no trouble with noise at all (didn’t hear anyone come or go even though all Pods we full).
You have a little locker to secure passport / laptop / phone etc with charging point inside your Pod (bring a small padlock).
The communal area was good - friendly, nice food, fast WiFi.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

The second time I've stayed at the Pangea Pod Hotel and the rooms are always really clean, the pods are really dark and you're unaware that there are other people sharing the room. It's the best pod hostel you can stay in. I have to give a special shout out to Cal who worked on the front desk and the bar, he was super helpful, he gave us great tips to make sure we enjoyed Whistler and you could tell he really cared. Thanks for making the stay great for us.

Key takeaways: pack as streamlined and as light as you can because there's not much room for extra things. Book a side entry pod if you want more space. Bring at least 3 combination locks. Don't expect pure, sound-proof privacy.
I stayed at Pangea Pod with my partner for two nights. It's a fantastic location in Whistler Village and it's so easy to get to the Whistler and Excalibur gondalas. You're in the center of everything, and the furthest parts of the village are a 10 min walk away. I'll likely stay here again with my partner in the future, but we'll likely 'upgrade' to a side entry pod to get more space. Overall, happy with my stay here and would tradeoff the privacy and extra room for prime access to the Whistler mountain. However, I wouldn't stay here for more than 3 nights as I was starting to get claustrophobic by the second night...
A few suggestions for the hotel: Perhaps a more 'lounge-y' environment that was less club-like (The Living Room can get quite loud on a Friday and Saturday night) with couches and softer music would have kept the claustrophobia at bay (we hung out Fri/Sat night in our bedrooms watching TV on our iPad instead). Being able to lock the pod, perhaps with a sliding door, would have made me feel more secure about leaving my things in the pod, as I was only able to lock up my truly valuable things and not everything.

Hi there, Thanks for staying with us, and for your comments. As a business that is constantly trying to innovate and improve, we are always hungry for guest feedback and constructive criticism, so thank you again for taking the time to write this down. BC’s building code requirements don’t allow for fully lockable doors, so our design team selected high-end curtains that not only look and feel great, but keep light out too, so you can sleep without distractions. That being said, our next property will incorporate a different design that addresses your comments! We hope to see you back at Pangea in the future, and provide a flawless experience when we do! I had an awesome stay at the Pangea Hotel.
The Pods are comfortable, very clean and provide everything you need. I went with the smallest Pod size which still is plenty of space for 2 people.
I really enjoyed the design that shower, toilet, dressing room, and another sink, are separate and therefore give the guests a lot more flexibility. The overall Design of the Hotel is modern and aesthetically pleasing.
The Service Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Special thanks to the frontdesk ladies Noemie and Madeleine for being very patient with all the questions i had and making check-in and check-out an easy and pleasant experience.
I also want to say thank you to Cailin aswell for giving me alcohol free options and making my cocktail experience very enjoyable. Something which often is very limited at other places.
And last but not least Teighan who helped me to find my way around storing my equipment.
When i am in Whistler i will definitely visit again.
Thank you, i had a great time.

I did not entirely realize that my pod, although a private pod, was in a larger room with several other pods. At first, I was very nervous about this as the only "door" you have separating your bed from the hall is a curtain, but I barely saw the other people and there were never any issues with noise. All the spaces were extremely clean and all the people staying there really respect the shared living situation rules. The bar and living area are quite nice too.

Pangea is pretty much what it shows: a well run upscale hostel. Everything was clean, it wasn't too noisy (they usually shut off the music at 10 but karaoke went to 11 and I could very much hear it). The cafe is perfect for people watching and the food is pretty good.
My major complaint – and the only reason it loses a star – is that the pods are really hot. There is a fan but it doesn't seem to have an intake so the air it pushed was minimal and mostly it is there to make white noise. With the curtain open, the temperature is tolerable but then the point of a pod hotel (privacy vs. A normal hostel) is lost. My pod in particular was across from the washroom so it was particularly exposed. I was in a bottom front access so this wasn't even the warned of upper pods that apparently get extra hot. The others around me shared this complaint. The unfortunate part is that I'm not sure there's a easy fix for pangea as this is how it is built.
Still, how can you beat the location and price? It's an easy recommendation for anyone who is traveling alone.

Hi Scott, Thanks for staying with us, and for your comments. As a business that is constantly trying to innovate and improve, we are always hungry for guest feedback and constructive criticism, so thank you again for taking the time to write this down. We know the temperature in certain pods is an issue for some of our guests, but we want you to know that we’re doing everything we can to rectify the cause and mitigate the effects – starting by retrofitting an extremely sophisticated (read: expensive) fan system in all our mezzanine areas to drive the hot air down and out. We know this doesn’t change the experience you just had, but your feedback helps us make these kinds of changes and improvements. Yes the mezzanine level pods have a decent size locker and I believe you can rent extra storage space for a nominal amount.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Our standard check-in is at 4 PM, though if your pod is ready earlier we will of course let you in before! Regardless, we should be able to store your luggage if you arrive early. And we have a great cafe/lounge (The Living Room) in which you can relax if need be.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We look forward to welcoming you to Pangea!
And don't forget to book direct for the best rates guaranteed – if you ever see a better rate we'll beat it – and a complimentary drink on arrival.
