Nestled in a picturesque setting, Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa offers guests a tranquil escape, with rooms that boast breathtaking views and striking design. However, some visitors have called out the need for refurbishment in certain areas and maintenance of room amenities. The spa's variety is popular, though improvements are suggested for its operations.
Guests have experienced mixed service quality, from warm engagements to slower responses. While the resort's cleanliness receives high marks, critiques about value point to overpriced services and lengthy waits.

My husband and I enjoyed the November, 2023 getaway package for locals for $199.00.
We have been to Sparkling Hill for lunch and dinner many times over the years but this was our first overnight stay. We loved the Zen and romantic ambiance. My husband enjoyed it more than he thought he would.
The free valet service and the electric charging station was a huge bonus! We had checked in online so check in was fast and efficient.
We were facing east with a beautiful valley and mountain view and we had a bit of a view of Kal Lake from our second floor room.
The room was stunning. Beautiful appointments, lots of crystal, full wall windows and a large tub for two.
We did find the doorway entrance very dark as there was no ceiling lighting.
We were disappointed that the outdoor infinity pool and indoor pool were very cool. Also, the pool area was quite sterile and uninviting.
The saunas that we tried were very soothing. I would recommend that there be more signage posted outside each sauna with the information that is on the website. The information of what the benefits of the particular sauna are and the recommended amount of time to spend in each one. There is no access to a clock with the time and I heard several people saying that they should probably get out as they were feeling dizzy.
The tea room that you can relax in was a lovely touch.
Also, the sound proofing in the resort is excellent as we heard no noise outside our room.
Room service at 10 p.m. for port and vegan/gluten free desert was divine.
The complimentary breakfast was amazing. So many dishes to choose from including vegan options. The waitress brought out fruit and a pumpkin pastry while we were deciding and when she realized my husband had a gluten intolerance she brought him gluten free pastries! The service for breakfast was 5 star.

Situated on a hill, next to the esteemed Predator Ridge golf course, lies Sparkling Hill Resort. We came here because it’s one of the nicest resorts in BC (and Canada), and in my opinion has better scenery in the winter than summer.
We booked the penthouse for a couple of nights and enjoyed the size of the living and bathroom. Inside of the bathroom there was also a steam room, which was a nice surprise. The balcony was quite large and great for taking photos as well. Arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with courtesy and ease. Dinner and breakfast was at the restaurant inside the resort, and so was the spa (which is quite large).
Overall, a pleasant stay but lacking some areas on overall scale. It would’ve been nice to have a shorter line up during check in (they seem to be understaffed), as well as a more people on valet and helping guests with luggage. This was one of the first resorts where I’ve seen people pull a luggage buggy and use it to carry their luggage all the way to their room rather than have a bell hop assist them from car to the check-in counter, to their hotel room. The restaurant and spa have very nice views, and is quite busy with a robust crowd during December. The food could be elevated based on the prices they charge, and the breakfast buffet could have more options and it’d be nice if they had an omelette/egg and roast meat station.
The housekeeping staff did forget to make our room twice, once when we placed the sign on our door, and after coming back late afternoon, I called to have the room made up while we went to get a massage at the spa, and still nobody came. We requested housekeeping once again since we were going to dinner, and it was finally done.
Again, nice staff, a great view, lots of crystals in their resort since it was opened by a member of the Swarovski family; however, it would likely be toward a 3.5 star resort on a global scale should one look at food, service and room/furniture style and design quality, especially when compared to European hotel resorts.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed summary of your experience with us at Sparkling Hill. It is a pleasure to read about how you enjoyed your stay as well as staying in a penthouse. We offer three uniquely designed penthouses to our guests. We also ask our Front Office team to offer assistance with luggage to all of our guests. I am sorry if this was not offered upon your arrival. I am also sorry about your experience with your stay over service as well as for offering a menu below your expectations. Your feedback is extremely important. It will be reviewed by our management team as well as used for improvements to offer. We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back to Sparkling Hill again! Kind regards, Patrick F, Assistant Operations Manager

Stunningly beautiful resort with jaw dropping lake & mountain views but overall, I was a little disappointed. Valet parking (included) was a little jumbled up and the front desk staff were ambivalent. I pointed out that I reserved a King vs 2 queens she shrugged and said that’s what they had. I ended up with a lakeview room instead of the mountain view but then they tried to charge me extra when I was checking out! I had to show them my original confirmation to fix it.
We had to drag our luggage around while we waited for our room but the downstairs cafe happy hour included half price bottles of wine & cheese board so that made for a nice respite. All meals in the PeakFine restaurant were amazing including the ‘free’ breakfast and we had a Red Seal chef with us to evaluate them! Room service was busy so the food was not the hottest when it arrived but still great.
The rooms are visually beautiful and the changing lake view was stunning but it lacks a decent sitting area as the table is only big enough for 2 drinks and was quite the challenge when 4 people were having dinner. I found the bed uncomfortable and the pillows were too soft; when I asked the front desk for a firmer one they never did send one to my room but housekeeping responded immediately, when I later called them. Still not a great pillow though and my safe didn’t work as the mechanism had fallen out
All amenities are provided as well as bathrobe and slippers, which you are encouraged to wear around the resort. The problem is that ours got wet the first night and there are no exchanges, not even in the Spa when we went for our massages.
Very disappointed in the lack of cleaning in the locker rooms and pool areas. Other than one staff member stationed at the pool entrance with sanitizers wiping the handrails, we saw no other staff. The pools were very busy but large enough that you could maintain distance. The hot tub has very strong jets which were very invigorating and it connected out to the outdoor infinity pool which had amazing views.
The showers & toilets were a mess & not cleaned even with a fully booked Spa! Again, the reception staff were efficient but lacklustre. We were expected to check in early to enjoy the pools & shower but required to carry our paperwork with us so we decided to return for it later and then she sent us to the wrong waiting area so the therapist spent 5 minutes looking for us.
Our massage sessions were great with very professional therapists that explained every step of the procedure. Due to Covid restrictions, there was no sauna, steam or even tea for the relaxation room...seems extreme & was probably the lack of staff for cleaning.
There are a variety of well marked hiking trails around the resort & a well equipped fitness centre. They had an Express checkout but my bill was incorrect so that took awhile to sort out.
An aesthetically beautiful resort but they have some work to do to bring it up to a higher rating especially given the price of a stay. Staff at the restaurants were top notch but reception needs to work on their customer relations.

To our valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased that you had many positive experiences throughout the resort and we also thank you for providing us with your other observations. It is this feedback that gives us insight into how to continue improving. I have shared your feedback with the appropriate departments so that we may follow up appropriately. It is correct that the steams & saunas are closed due to a regional health directive. We are also looking forward to when we can safely open our most beloved amenity. The removal of the tea was an additional precaution to further limit items that would be touched by multiple people, although I can understand the disappointment around this. As I had mentioned we truly value your feedback and we hope we are able to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Bo Gujic

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay package here for our 35th Anniversary just after Christmas. Though we have visited several Spas at hotels previously we had never gone to a destination Spa Hotel before. We had a lake view room which was very well appointed and comfortable. Also it was very quiet which we like as we are both light sleepers. At Sparkling Hills it’s all about the Spa, which occupies the entire ground floor and it’s amazing. Our only complaint is they close the saunas and steam rooms from 11am to 4pm, which is prime time and makes it awkward to schedule your day, not to mention this part of the spa gets very busy when it’s open. There are several themed saunas and steam baths so you definitely want to check it out. Though we had heard the restaurant was so-so, our dinners were excellent (which were included in our package), both were specials of the night. Wine selection was adequate. Expect to tip on the value of the meals and wine. If you do order ala cart the prices are expensive so expect to pay about $200 for two with a bottle of wine for three courses. Oh, and don’t worry about a daily wardrobe. Starting at breakfast everyone wears the provided slippers and white houseboats. For dinner there is a dress code requiring street clothes though. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Thank you for your recent stay with us, it was a pleasure welcoming you to Sparkling Hill for your 35th Anniversary. We love to be part of our guests' celebrations. I am extremely glad to read that you enjoyed a quiet room and had comfortable sleep during your two night visit. Our steams & saunas were built to function at full capacity for eight hours per day. As we have a high occupancy level year-round, we want to make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for a great guest experience. We then take advantage of the afternoon’s closure for additional cleaning in this area of the resort. It explains why they are open from 9 to 11 am and from 4 to 10 pm. It is also a pleasure to read your feedback about your dining experiences. All of your feedback has been shared with the respective managers for their review with their team. We look forward to welcoming you back to Sparkling Hill in the future! Kind regards, Patrick F. Assistant Operations Manager

Beautiful views, great service and very clean. A little pricey; recommend you go in the off season for good deals. Full breakfast and all the steams/saunas are included as well as valet parking. They have free fruit, tea and citrus or cucumber water everywhere in the spa. The steams/saunas are lovely but can be crowded. Be aware that they are only open from 9-11 am and 4-10 pm but all the other spa facilities including the pools and gym are open all day. The front desk was very fast and helpful; just be aware that there is a check in rush at 4 pm and check out rush at 11 am so try to avoid these times if you don’t want to wait in line. The room had amazing views and was very nicely done. The bed was incredibly comfortable. There is a walk thru shower with great water pressure and a “2 person” soaker tub - a little tight for 2 but great for 1. Only complaint about the room was the pocket door to the toilet had a horrible handle and was hard to open and close. Overall a wonderful, relaxing stay. Will definitely go again.

We came up for a couple nights after getting a special local deal. Breakfast and valet parking included with all the spa access made it a pretty good deal.
I loved the room. It’s huge and we had a lake view and the floor to ceiling windows with the view was great! I like the 2 sinks in the huge bathroom and I’m pretty sure the floors were heated - felt nice and warm.
We had 2 queen bed (only needed one bed) 1 bed was a bit lumpy and not that comfortable but the other one ended up being better. I don’t like that there is no coffee maker in the room. They do offer coffee by the restaurant in the morning but only until 10. With the views from the room - it would be nice to make your coffee in your room for an afternoon pick me up.
The housekeeping was horrible. We had left a couple towels on the floor that were wet - that were left on the floor when we came back and no new towels for the room or the spa were left!! Dirty wine glasses were left, not replaced, as well as some garbage around the room like coffee cups were left. I think all they did was pull up the quilt on the bed and take out the bathroom garbage. We called when we got back to the room and they sent some towels and wine glasses up.
The pools and spa were great. Loved the different steam and sauna rooms and it was busy but not too bad. The second day the igloo room didn’t have any crushed ice to help with the cool down. The temperature in both pools was great! Nice and warm and the views are beautiful. The jets in the hot tub are very strong! Feels really good on the body.
Buffet was decent and we didn’t eat at the restaurant for dinner. We did eat at the cafe. It’s a really limited menu. We went one evening just before 10. We were able to order what we wanted except the waitress didn’t realize the soup of the day had been changed. The group that came in after us though had issues as the kitchen had run out of a lot of things, making the minimal menu with even less choice. The food we got was pretty good.

Thank you for your detailed feedback on your recent experience with us at Sparkling Hill. I am pleased to learn that you loved your room. The rooms were designed with a focus on the outside view, so our guests would sit back and relax while enjoying the magnificent Okanagan landscape. Our philosophy behind the absence of coffee maker in the rooms is that we want our guests to come and take advantage of all the amenities that we have to offer. While it is a pleasure to read about how you enjoyed our KurSpa, I truly apologize for the stay over service. This is certainly not the standard that we want to set for ourselves. Guests should return to their room after a stay over service with every little detail taken care of for a seamless experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to Sparkling Hill! Kind regards, Patrick F. Assistant Operations Manager

In the unprecedented time that we currently have I would think that a “wellness” resort would go above and beyond the cleaning protocols set by industry standards but sadly Sparkling Resort fell way, way below standard. We went as part of our 25th wedding anniversary trip and while I appreciate their effort in decorating our room with a card and chocolates I just cannot get over the uncleanliness of our room. I would know because I brought my own sanitizer spray and sanitized the entire room (just like I did in the previous hotel we stayed at) and I was so disappointed (scared even) to see soap streaks on counter, dirty glass walls (can’t miss it because it blocks the great view of the lake outside) and hair in the tub!!! I did not want this to ruin our 2-day stay (Sept 7-9) so I tried to push it out of my mind and wait for them to clean the next day but it left a sour taste in my mouth throughout. TV remote not working, shower head broken, shower gel pump broken, faded furniture upholstery are among the broken things that they certainly can improve on. I was very surprised and disappointed that there is NO complimentary coffee, tea or even disposable cups in the room. You have to go buy coffee in the snack bar or order room service...it’s a a first for us!
The great part was the view, location and staff. The front desk staff and restaurant staff are very friendly and accommodating. They are prompt with housekeeping but if I had to call them for all that I find broken or dirty they would be annoyed at me.
Sadly, I would not recommend this resort to my friends or co-workers despite the lovely place and view. Cleanliness, especially during COVID, trumps everything else so I can’t really say that this “wellness” resort accurately reflect the hygienic aspect of the word. I hope that they hire more cleaning staff.
In summary: great location, beautiful views, nice staff but dirty and overpriced. We on the first floor with the lake view.

The resort itself has a fantastic location on top of the hill overlooking beautiful vistas and blue lakes. The rooms are all quite nice with a great deep bathtub by the windows. The staff were all friendly and polite. Our waitress at the restaurant was phenomenal and the food was also quite good.
There were a few things that all added up and perhaps just a bit more attention to detail would be helpful to really make this place reach its potential...after all it is supposed to be the nicest resort in the Okanagan.
In our room, in one of the drawers were dirty cutlery and serviettes. Not exactly crowd pleasing or appetizing. It also seemed that they were a bit understaffed as it took over 5min to reach a human being on the operator line to get the mess cleaned up.
The pool, while exceptionally nice, is extremely small and overcrowded. Good luck getting an outdoor spot unless you are there are 0700.
While checking out the line is quite long, and while I understand it is COVID times there is an unmanned desk that is 100% over 2m away from the other two that could also be used. Also on that note the valet were very good at getting everyone's cars quite rapidly despite the mass exodus at check out time.
Overall, I would probably tell people to try it out and see how they liked it. I'd go back but if it were disappointing again I probably wouldn't recommend it. For the price you pay it doesn't live up to the hype.

We booked a deluxe lake view room for 3 nights. Check in was ok but front desk wanted our car keys for valet. Given Covid there was no way I wanted the valet in our vehicle. We tried to book restaurant reservations at the time of booking (5 weeks in advance) but could never get anyone to answer the phone and for breakfast was told they would not accept reservations after 830am?? Tried to book spa reservations as well but never any answer when calling. Finally had to leave a message threatening to cancel total visit if someone called me back. Finally got things booked. Our expensive lake view room was above the loading bays and every morning at 7-7:30am we were awoken to the sounds of delivery and garbage trucks backing up. Coffee makers were taken out of rooms and the breakfast included with the room could not be delivered to the room without paying extra for it?? Even with breakfast reservations we had to wait and once had to go to the crappy Bistro room to eat. The room layouts are very awkward with the shower visible from the hallway if the door is open. The outdoor pool area is way too small resulting in guests getting there early to park a towel on loungers they would hog all day. The Spa services were actually quite good. I had 2 massages and both were excellent. We ended up cancelling our dinner reservations after reading reviews and menu. For a WELLNESS Spa resort they clearly do not understand anything about healthy eating options. Breakfast menu VERY limited as is the lunch menu. I would suggest guests eat at the RANGE restaurant at Predator Ridge which we did and was quite good. The resort is missing a nice bar/lounge to have a drink at and outdoor patio space to relax in the sun (other than small pool area). The architect who designed this made a mess of the functionality of the resort. This could be an 8 out of 10 but it needs a remodel and new management. Overall disappointing and not worth the cost.

This was a very nice place to go, but I feel it is overpriced and lacks options for meals.
1) The breakfast buffet is included and was very tasty. We enjoyed 3 days of breakfast, but it would have been more enjoyable to have a different menu. The only changes observed by us was from poached eggs to boiled eggs and sausage patties to links. There was no bacon at all (grrr).... It would have been nice to have a different theme everyday. The food was fresh, served at the correct temperature and well presented
2)The staff are very friendly and helpful..
3) Other than the expensive restaurant and bistro there is nothing for food.. There is a tiny bar fridge and no microwave. The lunch and dinner menu have exquisite selections, but if you want simple or less $$ you are out of luck.. The cost of the overnight will be a treat for many and having to drop another 100 bucks a day on food. While it is only 20 minutes to Vernon to find alternatives, I really did not want to spend my vacation time on the road.
4) We did have one purchased meal and it was feature of the day. A very nicely presented and tasting pasta dish, but I struggled at the cost as there should be a salad or soup starter included.
5) the pools/spa are clean and well designed. It would nice to have a steam room for of us who like it "hot". The "hottest" room was warm for me at best.
6) The pools are not well serviced by staff. It is great to have a "no cell phone" rule, but there is no one to politely remind the "phone addicts" who feel they have text every 30 seconds.
7) Our room was very nice and clean (except under the be). left over lotion bottles and other tidbits shows a lack of attention. The views are stunning, bed is very comfortable and the room is very quiet!!
8) It would nice to have the steam/saunas open for the entire 0700 to 2200 hours as they get busy at times. The sauna/steam are only open 0900 to 1100 and 1600 to 2200.
9) The whole resort is a wonderfully designed resort that offers a very romantic and peaceful getaway..
Overall, I would recommend.. For those (like most of us) who are a limited budget.. bring your own food.

Response from SparklingHill, Manager at Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa
Responded Feb 22, 2020
Thank you for providing us with a detailed review of your recent stay with us at Sparkling Hill. We greatly appreciate your valuable feedback as we focus on continuously improving our guest experience. I will make sure to share it with the management team for their review. The reason behind the steams & saunas hours of operations is that they were built to function at full capacity for eight hours per day. Due to our high occupancy level year-round, we want to make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for a great guest experience. We also take advantage of the afternoon’s closure for additional cleaning in this area of the resort. It explains why they are open from 9 to 11 am and from 4 to 10 pm. I would also like to sincere apologize for the disappointments experienced during your stay, especially for your in-room experience as well as having to witness our spa etiquette not being reinforced enough. This is not the seamless experience from start to finish that is our standard. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Sparkling Hill again! Kind regards, Patrick F. Assistant Operations Manager

Yes, first property I've been to in a while where I actually wanted to use the product.
Hi. I’m not sure what the differences is in those descriptions so perhaps check in with the hotel or website.
We have stayed in a lakeside view and a mountain view and they are both great and equally as peaceful and lovely to look at ~ it depends on what you’re in the mood for or what you would enjoy looking at to relax. If possible I would try not and get a room overlooking the front entrance as at night there’s a bright fluorescent light there that detracts from the dark quiet view of the mountains. All the best.
Hello, yes there is a dress code in Peakfine for dinner. I read that they called it business casual. No hats or jeans. For breakfast you can be dressed or in your supplied robe.
Hello, my husband and I were there on March 5 and 6th. We had to book our 45 min times for steam rooms and saunas. We did this before we arrived. We didn’t hear anything about the European hour, so I was thinking they weren’t doing that at this time, but I never asked. The pool and hot tubs were open all day as usual. You can book the saunas starting at 2pm. And one change is the check in time is now 3pm, and check out is 10am. We really enjoyed our time! Hope you do as well.
