Great resort. Our room was beautiful, the Spa one of the best I have ever seen, and the food fantastic for quality, taste and presentation. The only thing I would improve is to make sure that clients are really quiet in the Spa. A few more signs on the doors or a gentle reminder by staff would be appreciated. I will go back to this resort and I would advice anyone to try it.

Ment to write this review earlier. My sister and I took a min vacation while in Alberta for football. My sister is known as the “Queen of Bling”. She had heard of this resort and wanted to visit so we took a two day detour to combine her two favourite things. “Wine & Swarovski”. It did not disappoint. Located high up on a hill overlooking the lake, with Swarovski crystals everywhere. The spa was interesting and had so many saunas to experience. Breakfast buffet was seriously one of the best I have ever had included with a stay period. We had a chance to visit Mission Hill winery while there also.

I spent the recent labour day long weekend and it was the most special time I have had in years. The place is beautiful, the spa relaxing and so felt at peace like never before. If you need relaxing time with your love, this is the place. I will never forget this past weekend! Thank you, thank you!

I recently stayed at the resort for a little getaway with my daughter. While the property is in a great location and the building and rooms are pretty, cleanliness is an issue. Our room was dusty and there was mold in the shower corners and build up gunk on the showerheads. For the price you pay I would expect more. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and I was really looking forward to experiencing this particular spa, and had high hopes for a beautiful experience. Our spa experience was terrible! We had booked massages, they were ok, but I wasn't even offered water afterwards. There was absolutely nothing special or very good about our massages. My daughter felt the same. After our massages we went to try the pools. The pools, steam rooms and saunas feel like a fancier public city pool setup. Fake scents pumped into the rooms and a shower system that seems very silly. There were drunk 50+'s during the day canon balling into the pool. Groups of what seamed to be "lifestyle" people drinking from Togo cups and being loud inside and out. There was nothing relaxing about hanging around the pool. It felt like being at a loud all-inclusive in Mexico. I have experienced hotel pools in Vegas that have more peaceful ambiance. We have been to lots of spas across Canada and overseas and we will tell our friends family to avoid this one. Not worth the price!! I should also mention the food. Don't expect much. We had 3 meals in the restaurant and all were really bad. First night my food was very overcooked and the sauce tasted like something from a cheep premade package. Second night more of the same. The cut of meat was nice but slightly overcooked and the sauce was unpalatable! Breakfast is a bad buffet comprised of scrambled eggs and bacon. The fruit was from a can or you could have an Apple or banana. No fresh local produce. It was crazy!! For a "health and wellness" spa I was really wanting more. Save your money, don't go here. So many other amazing places across this province that offer more for less!!

This was our second time at Sparkling Hills. The best feature of this hideaway is the staff. Everyone is friendly and professional. Even when guests bend the rules by bringing phones into the no-phone zone (the spa and infinity pool area) staff are courteous and compassionate when reminding guests to abide by the regulation. I actually like this rule because it lessens the chance of being inadvertently captured in an awkward stance, in my swim suit which might show up in the background of some strangers photo, nor will I be subjected to loud phone conversations. That said, permitting people to take only selfies and to communicate only via texts could be a compromise, but that may be difficult to enforce. No phones also creates a more relaxing and “be in the here-and-now” setting. If you’re a golfer, Predator Ridge down the hill may be of interest to you. If you’re not a golfer and are looking for other activities off the resort, there are hiking trails to enjoy either guided or unguided. The rooms are quite romantic with oversized bathtubs set near the floor to ceiling windows. Don’t worry, you can pull down the blinds ;)
