Stayed for a few nights and was quite happy with everything. Room was clean and everything worked as it should. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great for walking around and checking out the downtown area and is very close to Beacon Hill Park and the harbour. Room was quiet and I was actually able to sleep as I usually don't sleep well in hotels due to HVAC noise, street noise, etc.

Excellent service. After coming from other Marriott property this one made me feel comfortable. Room was clean and perfectly made for us. Crib was clean and neat. Our request of feather free room was made to perfection. Food is not so great but well you can survive

This is a nice full service hotel in a great downtown Victoria location. Within a 5 minute walk to the inner harbour, Royal BC Museum, Legislature and downtown - it's very convenient. Staff are friendly, and the rooms comfortable. My only feedback would be to have more carpeting in the rooms - it's nicer on the feet. The pool and hot tub are great, and open late. I would certainly stay here again.

Very standard business hotel which is in need of overhaul from its current 1990s state. There only is a breakfast buffet if you are a premium member (and that is served in a windowless room), otherwise you will have to have your breakfast in the drafty restaurant.

Response from Madelyn Brown, Guest Services / Front Office at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour
Responded Dec 13, 2023
Dear Fred T, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel after your recent stay at our property. We appreciate your feedback but we are surprised to hear that you perceived our property to be reminiscent of the 1990s. Our hotel, established in 2004, has undergone substantial renovations in recent years. Both the lobby and restaurant spaces were refreshed within the last 5 years, and all our rooms underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2021. Our commitment is to offer a contemporary and inviting atmosphere to all our guests, and we are saddened that this did not align with your expectations. We are sorry to hear that you encountered drafts in our Fire + Water restaurant as we endeavour to create a warm and welcoming dining environment for our guests. Please be rest assured that we take this matter seriously, and our maintenance team is actively investigating solutions to eliminate any discomfort caused by external elements. Thank you for choosing our hotel and for being a loyal Marriott premium member. Warm Regards, Madelyn Brown Front Office Manager

First time staying at the Marriott inner harbour in Victoria typically I have stayed at the Delta Oceanpointe as I was previously a delta platinum privilege member, but when Marriott acquired Delta, it increased the hotel selections for me with the Bonvoy program. I thought I would try the Marriott, hoping it would be equivalent, or maybe even better than what the Delta was and sadly I was somewhat disappointed. The property overall upon arriving is very nice the lobby and such but then you start to see once you get into the elevators and only two out of three were working that there’s quite a bit of wear and tear and upgrade needed to them. I booked a mid-level floor room, but did notice when the elevator stopped at lower floors, some of the hallways are still quite dated. upon entering my room, it appeared to be quite nice and modern until you then looked to the one side and saw the bathroom. It appears the room suffers from identity crisis. The room is quite modern for the living quarters area but the bathroom has not been renovated probably since the 1990s. Some of the issues with the room which probably carried to all of them in the hotel would be that the towels are kept on an old school motel style rack in the shower right next to all the moisture and humidity, which is kind of gross. The room overall is large and quite comfortable. There were some issues in this particular room that it’s starting to show age with wallpaper with seems peeling lights and plugs not working properly. One key thing that I noticed was again lack of attention to detail, and the entire wall that the bed is on one side is crooked. Another large disappointment was the fact that there is a mini fridge just sitting in the corner of the room not in the cupboard provided so it kind of felt like a college kid being in a dorm. Back to plugs not working due to the fact many of them on the desk don’t work properly. I had to plug things in very awkward places throughout the room and try to locate plugs behind mirrors that are attached to walls and such. There’s also ongoing issues with the television system that if you actually punch the numbers to change the channel, the screen goes all fuzzy and then need to turn the TV off and try to restart it hoping it’ll work next time for you and sometimes it just doesn’t… I have a feeling next time I travel to Victoria I’ll be looking to stay again at the Delta, or possibly even at the Doubletree by Hilton next-door where I’ve stayed in the past and had a very pleasurable stay. All of the hotel staff though are extremely friendly and it is a great location. If you don’t want to use your vehicle, I think I only touched mine once in the four days I was here.

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms are nice and many of them have great views. My only complaint is the M Lounge needs some improvements. If you’re BonVoy Platinum, you’ll be disappointed by the lounge here. It’s the worst one I’ve ever seen. No bottled juices and no snacks. It’s really lacking. I recommend this hotel check in with Montreal and Fredericton BonVoy properties to see how they could improve their service

Room Tip: They have made valet parking mandatory. They claim it’s because of Insurance. I don’t buy it

Definitely well located with government street near by. Clean and nice. Concierge was helpful and knowledgeable in the area so ask anything and he may be able to help. Staff are welcoming.. Only thing missing, IMO to give the 5 greens, is not having bottled water in the room (specially at current rates).

Danielle and her staff provide a top notch experience. The only handicap that the property currently has is that the M Club isn't quite like others I have experienced. This is something I was advised is being discussed with the ownership in re: maximizing the experience for guests. Otherwise, a fantastic location, walk to everything and great amenities (laundry, gym, pool, hot tub). FIVE STARS!!!!

The hotel is centrally located a few blocks from the waterfront. There are a ton of things to do within easy walking distance. The staff/concierge are very helpful. The room was comfortable and definitely up to Marriott standards. We would stay there again when in Victoria.
