Booked four nights here, used a suite certificate and was fortunate to get a nice suite upgrade. The location is great, walking distance to many popular attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Club lounge was nice. Staff were great, except for one problem. I don't usually review my hotel receipts, but in this case I did and I noticed a faulty charge of $28. Even though it's a minor amount, but a faulty charge is a serious problem. It will hurt the hotel's credibility and image. So I went to the front desk to ask about the charge, and they told me it was related to purchases at their snacks area, next to reception. I told them no that's definitely not us. Even though he did cancel the charge, but there was no acknowledgement of the error, and instead his reaction felt like they were doing me a favour for cancelling the faulty charge which should not have happened in the first place.

Dear James, Thank you very much for your very kind 4 out of 5 review. We are always here to welcome you, and our team will try each time to make that stay better than the last, however with this mis-posting from our Gift Shop, it looks like we slipped up this time. Please accept my sincere apologies for this. You are right, our team needs to show more remorse when we drop the ball, and not be so laisser-faire. I'll be sure to help the Front Office Manager see this as a coaching opportunity. Thanks again for your kind feedback, warm regards. IAN JONES General Manager

This Marriot is 5 star. The staff really make the difference, check inn was a good experience very accomodating my entire stay. Kuala lumper is my #1 Vic Marriot is #2 I’ve stayed at most Marriots across the globe. My TV wasn’t working for Netflix but I didn’t need it. That was the only thing, I stayed mostly working in the M lounge, I enjoyed the complimentary buffet after working out at the gym. The gym had all the equipment I needed. Rachelle the lounge tendee recommend I try something from the Fire and Water menu and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The last thing I want to say is people never know what you are going through , I felt a sense of healing at this hotel. And it’s not even a retreat. just one conversation changed the road ahead for me , people tune you out but she kindly listened to me, I was mourning the loss of my brother. Thanks to Rachelle for helping me more then you will ever realise just with a little conversation, you can actually save someone. I came to the point where I wanted to give up but she reminded me that I’m not alone and that she was mourning a loss too . Whoever going through tough times it will get better. I wish there were more people in the world that make you feel better just by being genuinely caring like she does. Thanks for everything Marriot!

Thank you very much Jasperk510 for your very kind 5 out of 5 review. Very kind of you to rate us like this, and I will be sure to share this with our team, as they really love to hear from our guests. We are always here to welcome you, and our team will try each time to make that stay better than the last, that's our wish anyway. Thank you also for the extra shout out for Rachelle, I am glad she was able to be a calming influence, to an otherwise traumatic and stressful time in your life. Losing a loved one is never easy, but I am glad she was there and able to listen. She is right, we have plenty of love all around us, we just need to hold onto it in times of need. I hope you had a safe trip home. Kind regards, IAN JONES General Manager

We had a family reunion week-end at the Marriott hotel. The week-end was successful partly due to the great service we had from the staff, including the Events manager, the Reservation manager and Front desk. For our stay, we had a corner room suite on the 10th floor which was very comfortable and had a fantastic view across the inner harbour. In addition, the hotel provide great food for us and our guests over the week-end. The hotel is conveniently located downtown for all the main attractions but it's set back from the downtown core so it's not noisy from the traffic or people. We would highly recommend the Marriott Inner Harbour for events with friends and family.

Hotel is located in a central location downtown. Safe walking in the area. Walking distance to all of downtown attractions, shops, eateries etc. The hotel is clean but dated in the common areas and elevator. There was very good service at the front check in desk. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Room is modern and clean. Try to get a higher floor for views even if you are not facing the harbour. There is a construction across the street by the one corner. The noise is mostly in the morning. Clean pool, hot tub, steam room area. The gym is fairly basic but has all you need. The “M Room” is now only for platinum members and no longer gold. Which is to bad as it was a nice perk for gold members in the past.

Thank you very much for your kind words about the staff at the Marriott Victoria. I will be sure to share your kind words with our team, as they love when their efforts are appreciated. We are in the middle of a renovation program, with our Suites, Elevators, Pool and Gym areas next on the schedule. As well, the building across the street has almost finished it's piling, and once they move to their super structure construction, the noise will decrease dramatically, especially once they move inside to finish off the building, after the envelope is sealed. Thanks again for taking the time to rate us, looks like we've still got some work to achieve a 5 out of 5 next time, but you've got my commitment, that this is our ultimate goal. Sincerely, IAN JONES

We drove most of the trip saying less it was not a fun experience that we expected or wanted it to be. Front desk was not very welcoming. and felt that we were a nuisance…. Thankfully that turned around when we got to the M lounge. I was feeling un settled for the price I had paid but it was all worth it in the end. we were greeted by the lounge tendee if I’m correct her name was Rachael? She offered us delicious cookies and beverages to warm up… as well as gave us knowledge about the lounge and what fun we can have around Victoria. she made us feel very welcome and warm. We got used to the fact that hospitality has died until we met her! She seemed happy to see us and help us with anything we needed. Not just us… the lounge was busy and she was very attentive to everyone. it felt nice surrounded in a room of people having a good time. we even made a few new friends. I would give 5 stars but it really felt like 10. the halibut was delicious shoutout to the chefs!! Leaving and we won’t forget this experience. already looking forward to coming back!

I will be sure to personally pass along your comments, as well, they will now each earn a special SHOUT OUT! award, a new Associate Recognition program we launched this year. I will also share with our Front Desk, as it is our goal to deliver "Unreasonable Hospitality", which means always going beyond, trying to personalizing as many guest interactions/experiences as possible. We stayed 2 nights in a club king room, 14th floor. The room and bed were very comfortable, clean spacious x well provided, the club upgrade means you have access to the club lounge for included breakfast early morning, tea x coffee during the day x light buffet snacks early evening which were great. Couple of things to be aware of, unlike most other hotels, this club room does not provide free alcohol. Also the hotel name is slightly misleading, it maybe be just inside the inner harbour area, but has no views of the harbour and is approximately 10 mins walk from the harbour, this didn't spoil our stay but us worth knowing.

We waited 10 - 15 minutes for dinner service in bar while waiters entertained each other. It looked like hotel had no management on that day which was a Thurs. evening. We have stayed at the Marriott for years and never saw this type of service. We will start staying elsewhere till they get proper management .

I just wanted to shout out one of the kindest and most generous and sincere gestures I have ever experienced from any hotel employee - maybe ever...! While sitting in the M club lounge; I mentioned a local favorite candy - Wine Gums - and the folks in the lounge hadn't heard of them. So I teased them and said how much I like them. The young man in the lounge, Boyan, went out and found some wine gums to bring back to me! Wow, what a kind gesture... That is what I call going above and beyond!
