I had a very nice stay at the Huntingdon - it's an older hotel but the attentive staff and waterfront location easily make up for it.
The restrictions from COVID19 were just starting to lift, and the Huntingdon was the perfect spot for a long weekend getaway to visit my family in Victoria. Dominic was attentive and friendly, and very helpful with any requests. Many of the hotel's amenities were closed, due to the pandemic, but Dominic dropped off a light breakfast each morning, and called each day to see if there was anything extra I need. He also gave some extra local, organic treats for my dogs!
The room was a bit dated, but still very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would definitely recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash as the stuff provided wasn't the greatest. But if that's the worst thing about a hotel, I think you're doing pretty well!

Hello Lisa; Thank you so very much for choosing the Huntingdon Manor as your home-away-from-home while in Victoria. It was wonderful having you and the pooches around for a few days and, am so happy our little touches made your visit a pleasant one. We can't wait for things to get back to normal and we know that, when they do, we can count on your return stay in the not-so-distant future. Thank you again and stay safe! Dominic M.

We booked the hotel as a result of a promotion that included breakfast and parking. The Manor is located footsteps from the water and the view from our second floor room was across the Inner harbour. Check in was smooth and we were pleasantly surprised at the amenities in our room. The bathroom was fully equipped for handicapped access. There was a king size bed, sofa, easy chairs, table, desk, fridge, stove, fully equipped kitchen and a TV that had seen its best days. Since we were there during the Covid 19 restrictions, room cleaning and bedding and towel exchange were not available without request. The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean and I loved the towels! Parking was easy and secure underground accessed by our room card. The hotel asked patrons to use face masks at all times in the hotel. Breakfast was served in the nearby tea garden and the menu featured a limited hot breakfast ordered at the counter and served to our table. Coffee was available in the lobby from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 each morning. The grounds suffered somewhat from inattention but we were there in late October. The exterior of the building was in need of an upgrade and at least a new paint job. A part of the garden was nicely dedicated to Dr. Bonnie henry, BC's top health official.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the Huntingdon Manor Hotel and its historic charm and central location. We strive to ensure that our service is outstanding despite the ongoing pandemic, and that all safety protocols are being followed by staff and guests alike. Being an older building, we are aware that there are a few renovations needed but unfortunately COVID-19 has put a strain on our renovation and maintenance schedule. Meanwhile, our team is working hard to keep the hotel clean, safe and comfortable. Thank you for your kind words and we look forward to your next visit. With kind regards, Nelly Ele Front Office Manager

We stayed at the Huntingdon Manor for three nights. The room was comfortable and clean. There was only one bar of soap and the soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser was hard to use and dispensed very sparse amounts. The included breakfast had few real choices and we were asked if they could bill the 15% tip to our room - again not much choice without making us feel cheap in front of other visitors.
Free parking in the underground lot was also included but very full later in the evening. I had to try to squeeze my small car into one of two spaces between the entry gate and a large pickup truck that took up part of the small slot resulting in a scraped front bumper. Another time I parked (with permission) in a space reserved for electric cars. The SUV beside me was parked on the dividing line and the electric cord had to be moved so I wouldn't run over it. A bicycle locked to a post extended part way into the same space.
The pictures and writeup made the hotel sound like a luxurious old, refurbished hotel. It was old. I'm sure we could have had just as good sleep in a more modern reasonably priced hotel with no stairs to climb and descend to get to the breakfast.

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback; we are sorry to hear that your stay at the Huntingdon Manor Hotel did not meet your expectations. As part of our sustainability initiatives, we replaced single-use toiletries with dispensers and all of our soaps, cream and hair products are eco-friendly and locally made. Please note that we do have single-use toiletries available upon request at the front desk. We also have an above ground parking available should the underground parking be full on certain days. We are indeed an older building, with a few interesting features such as that small flight of stairs leading to the lounge and access to the breakfast rooms. Unfortunately there are structural features of the building that cannot be amended, and COVID-19 has put a strain on our renovation and maintenance schedule. We hope that will change in the near future as the pandemic evolves and gets under control, and in the meantime, our team is working hard to keep the hotel clean, safe and comfortable. Yours truly, Nelly Ele Front Office Manager

Huntington Manor has always used a basic strategy that many of their competitors seem unaware of: A pleasant, welcoming lobby, decent rooms, a great location, pretty good breakfast, excellent staff who are always ready to respond to requests and reasonable rates. Seems simple enough, and it always works. The big chains should take note.

My wife and I came to Victoria to look at properties and booked what we thought was a budget accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised by our well equipped air conditioned room, super comfy King bed with lots of plump pillows and view of the Inner Harbor. All interactions with staff were very pleasant and breakfast at Pendray House was lovely Victorian quaint - so enjoyed scones and tea while watching the master gardener sculpt the topiary garden. All covid 19 hygiene measures being adhered too and was pleasantly surprised to see the first Dr. Bonnie Henry Commemorative Garden that had been installed on site. Great stay and will definitely be back!

We've stayed at the Huntingdon Manor several times and have always found the location superb, the rooms comfortable and the price just right. This year, with the COVID restrictions, they offered discounts to BC residents so we upgraded to a larger room with a kitchen. I wasn't sure from the website just what might be provided so brought some of our own equipment. To my delight the Buckingham room had a full four-burner stove, a microwave, a smaller but most adequate fridge plus eating utensils and crockery for two. There were also some pots and pans plus wine glasses and beverage glasses. Their COVID protocols were in place so there was no cleaning done unless requested. We managed without. I don't change towels every day at home so why when we're away!

We love the area for it's proximity to the Inner Harbour, the tree-lined streets and the quiet of the neighbourhood. The underground parking is relatively secure and can be accessed with your room card.

I am sure at some point this hotel was amazing but this was not a place I would stay again. They offered no cleaning staff to change towels or make beds, we stayed 5 days and never had dishes or towels cleaned out. The front staff seemed inconvenienced if asked for extra bedding or towels, in my opinion not very friendly or enjoyable to deal with. There was also construction happening the entire time and our room looked into scaffolding, even though we had requested a view. There is also no restaurant after breakfast which is disappointing and a complete lack of space.

the friendliness of the staff and the understanding that we are all negotiating a difficult situation made this a great choice for a downtown location, near the core but far enough away to be quiet. included breakfast at the adjacent and charming Pendray Tea House lacked flair and the wait for initial check-in at front desk was long as hotel negotiates limits on personnel, but once ordered service was speedy if practical. included parking was a plus but places not always available in the locked underground lot. we visited as part of a BC Ferries promotion and experienced overall very good value at this slightly tired location. An excellent sleep! Not a full service hotel.

Excellent hotel accommodation in the old English architectural style. View of the Victoria Harbour as requested. The room was fine, quite modernly equipped for an old hotel property. Front desk service was first class. Continental breakfast delivered to our room (due to the Pandemic) was quite skimpy, so we had a full brunch elsewhere.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent for access to restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions and the Galloping Goose Trail. Rental bikes and a bike shop are located on the grounds if you need these services. Breakfast in the Pendray Restaurant was delightful and we were seated in a different vintage room every morning. The staff were all helpful and welcoming. Covid 19 protocols seemed to be in good order and we felt totally safe throughout. Definitely would stay with them again.
