If you really want to stay right in the heart of the city, this is the place. The hotel has the greatest selection of bars/restaurants in the whole city - right in the ground floor. But everything else is right nearby. Stay here and you are walking distance of everything. Front desk staff are friendly and very efficient.

Obviously, at $70 a night, you shouldn't expect the lap of luxury. But that being said, the Strathcona is a very good hotel for the price. Some Pros and Cons that may or may not be important to you in your decision making: Pros: -hotel is very charming, and the rooms are basic but clean -staff very helpful and friendly...

Central location, friendly staff, easy access, very comfortable room and downstairs bar/restaurant all combined to make this a great place to stay whilst in Victoria. Easy to walk to a range of sites and to link in with public transport.

The people from the hotel were very helpfull and really nice, they gave good advise. The breakfast was great and had a lot of choice. The rooms were nice, especially the bath. Good wifi. Not expensive. We even came back for diner in their pub with Christmas while all the restaurants in town were closed and their food was good...

If you're going to stay at the Strathcona, you've got to understand that its big allure is the location and price. It's barely a few minutes walk from the ferry, various shuttle pick ups, and we could see the Royal BC museum from our room. It was a great place while we were out and about being touristy during the...

Helpful staff; older rooms but with modern amenities; some rooms are noisy - can request "quiet" room; walking distance to all inner harbor sights/activities; close to public bus stop. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. Good pubs/restaurants in hotel.

Stayed here a few weeks ago as the there was a great deal on rooms and I needed a quick get away from Vancouver. Staff was VERY nice. The building is cool and old.... not fancy; if that is what you want this is not for you. If you want walking distance to everything, a very cute old fashioned room,...

My friend & I stayed here last weekend for 1 night (a Saturday). We had come to see an exhibit at the Royal BC Museum. I have to say the location is great. We took public transit from the ferry terminal & the stop was a block away. It was also only 10 min by foot to the Royal BC...

Lots of fights and the staff seemed scared of the place once things got started Our room was so loud, we went to dine at night and it was nothing but fights outside on the street,. We witnessed the bouncers of the nightclub beat up a guy standing in line- we saw the whole incident and it was 200% the...
