We stayed for two nights. Hotel was within walking distance of many of the attractions (inner harbor, fishermen's warf, Chinatown, BC museums, parks, etc.), and lots eating places. Several bars plus roof top volleyball area in the same building. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but was clean and comfortable. No A/C but a table fan... More

We booked a package with ferry crossing and hotel with the "Blackball" ferry out of Port Angeles. The hotel could not have a better location to see the downtown Victoria area. The building is very old, but it is very nice. No AC, but you are on the coast so the fans do the job. That lets in the noise... More

Myself and girlfriends visited August 15-17 and we have never been so hot in a hotel room-valid it was hot outside, but no air conditioning, no additional fans, roof fans were for decor not actually operational. However I can't say a bad thing about breakfast they had waffles and almond milk with elevator and building was very secure

Rachel, Thank you for taking time to write a review. A heat wave in Victoria is an issue for many Hotels and homes as air conditioning is not the norm in Victoria, I am pleased you enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast More

We went to this hotel twice, once for a few drinks and then back later for dinner. The ambience was lovely and just a nice place to have a drink and watch sport if you want. The service was great and friendly staff. We returned in the evening for dinner. We were shown to our table, and given a glass of... More

Very bad hotel because of the strong noise until 12 p.m. proceeding from a discotheque next to the hotel. It did not serve of nothing asking for a change of room. We had to bear the music until the discotheque closed.

I like this place for the convenience, it's right in the heart of Victoria. The hotel is walking distance to the harbour, which is nice when you want to go to Ska Fest and other tourist attractions. There is Big Bad Johns attached to the hotel, and that is a neat place to go and have some drinks and peanuts... More

The Strathcona is perfectly located for a visit to central Victoria and all it has to offer. The desk staff were efficient and helpful, while our room was spacious and well equipped. No issues with cleanliness or noise. The breakfast was adequate, while an evening burger meal was excellent, and very good value. We believe we received very good value... More

I try to rate hotels relative to other hotels in the same price range. The Strathcona is family run, by the 4th generation. I tend to prefer well run family hotels over the chains. This is an old building, but they have obviously put a great deal of money into renovating it over the years. It is well maintained. The wifi... More
