We chose this hotel over the Fairmont Empress as well as Laurel Point Hotel in downtown Victoria because of its location and excellence in giving you personal service! For my husband who is mobility challenged, there are incredible restaurants and shops within 250 metres of walking - and you don't have a large hotel property to have to walk in and out of as well. We have stayed here many times and are never disappointed! The bathrooms are large with showers that accommodate mobility issues as well. And they deliver every possible toiletry you could even think of as part of their every day stay! Locally made dark chocolates that melt on your tongue await you in your room after they have done their turn down service for your evening enjoyment. The floral bouquets in the lobby are changed over frequently and are incredibly fragrant. With this stay this time, all guests received a free real breakfast at their Courtney Room restaurant - not just coffee and a muffin.

Hotel's Favorite
This boutique hotel is right in the heart of downtown Victoria. It's a short walk to nearly everything you need. I had direct contact with the hotel prior to the stay as it was our anniversary. All of my dealings with the staff were professional, polite and prompt. They were able to arrange for flowers to be in the room on fairly short notice and were accomodating with having us arrive early to park our car at the hotel prior to check in. They contacted me via phone to let us know our room was ready early and also gave us an upgraded room. The room was perfect for a couple, had lots of comforable seating to relax in and all amenities you'd expect in the room including a Nespresso machine and bottled water when you arrived. The bathroom had an exceptional deep bath and separate stand up shower and my wife pointed out that all the bath supplies were of top quality. Be aware that parking is only by valet and was $30/night. This wasn't overpriced for the area but if you need to go in and out a lot with your vehicle it may be a bit inconvenient. I'd recommend leaving the car at the hotel and getting everywhere you can on foot. The price of this hotel is on the higher end of the area but not out of line compared to others, and the service and property delivered.

The Magnolia is well situated for the harbour and sightseeing. From room 706, we had a nice view of the Parliament buildings. The furnishings and decor are of good quality and could be described as quaint. Service was excellent. We used the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Food was very good, if expensive, but we had a busy schedule so the convenience of dining in-house was worth the premium.

My husband and I had a corner king room with a stunning view. The room was beautifully appointed and absolutely spotless. Front desk staff were delightful and late afternoon early evening complimentary wine and beverages were cordially offered to family members who were visiting with us but not staying at the hotel. We enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast two days in a row. The food was imaginative and superb and servers were excellent. Wonderful stay! Based on this experience, the Magnolia is our hotel when in Victoria.

This is a high quality boutique hotel. The location is superb. It's close to everything: the Empress Hotel, harbour, legislature, shopping, Government & Douglas streets, restaurants, pubs etc. The rooms are superbly finished, bed comfortable, and we had a world class shower in a spacious bathroom. Service, including the valet car parking, was prompt. Continental breakfast included with room price. The room rates aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Service room and decor are excellent. My concern is with the Courtney dining room which serves good food at high prices but the portions are extremely small for the cost per serving. Very disappointed in this dining room and would not recommend it .

The Magnolia is like an oasis in the middle of the city...its comfortable, quiet, inviting and guests are well taken care of. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and drinks on the patio. Everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. No complaints from us! We will certainly be returning.

The Magnolia Hotel is exactly what a boutique hotel should be. Unlike chain hotels it had all of the little extras that made our stay very nice. I had requested a quiet room and that is what we had. After doing a walking tour in the rain, we enjoyed warming up by the gas fireplace in our room. The continental breakfast was served in the adjoining restaurant. Although we ate items on the continental breakfast menu, the hotel offered a significant discount for guests that preferred something on the full breakfast menu. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were pleasant and always accommodating. I would definitely choose the Magnolia Hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Magnolia. This is a block away from all the tourist spots, making it a much more pleasant location. The hotel is quiet and the breakfast is fantastic. The hotel is very close to all of the best touristy things to do. The staff is kind and accommodating. We had a great time and hope to return.
