This was my second visit to Victoria & my second stay at The Magnolia. We only stay here when visiting downtown. We love everything about this hotel. The entire staff are fabulous. During every single encounter we had( including phone calls prior to our visit) we were met with the utmost friendliness & professionalism. The hotel itself is as lovely as our last visit 7 years ago. Rooms are very relaxing, quiet, & extremely clean. The location is perfect & we walked everywhere. The breakfast was top notch & we had a fun happy hour in the bar attached to the hotel as well. We were so grateful for the front desk staff who helped us with luggage stowage. This hotel exemplifies everything we are looking for when we travel. Thank You for another great stay!
I've stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and it never disappoints. The location is excellent - central to the action, yet the rooms are quiet. It is clean. The staff members are friendly. There are those little 'extras' like fresh fruit, tea, coffee and water in the lobby. My only criticism is that the fitness room is rather small, so you cannot do any mat work/yoga, if you're into that kind of thing.
My 3rd stay at the Magnolia. Would rate it a 5 star hotel. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great location within walking distance to everything in downtown Victoria. Located about a quarter mile from the ferry terminals and the sea plane terminal.
Every aspect of the hotel and restaurant is top quality. All the employees we interacted with provided Excellent customer service (especially Spencer at the front desk - and Michael, Shawn, Jennifer and Sophie were all very helpful). Location is ideal for tourists, Courtney Room breakfasts and lunch are delicious- very nice touch to have the Continental breakfast included. Our room was large and the bed was super comfy. I highly recommend the hotel.
I found some of the front desk staff to be quite rude. Some of the restaurant staff were a little bit on the rude side. The prices in the restaurant were a little high offering small portions. The quality of the food was just ok. I noticed the restaurant was well below capacity a lot of the time. There are much better restaurants in the area with food portions and prices that are more reasonable. I took advantage of the $75 daily food credit package. In the unlikely chance I will choose to stay at Magnolia Hotel again I certainly won't be taking advantage of their daily dining package deal. I was overcharged on my final bill which didn't impress me a whole lot. The front desk staff seemed to ignore my $150 restaurant credit on my final bill. The staff seemed to give me attitude when I pointed out their billing error. The hotel was impressive I just wish all the staff were equally as impressive. …
The front desk and valet individuals were excellent. They always were friendly and professional. In addition, they provided me with great directions, recommendations and running routes! Much appreciated! As for the hotel and room - lovely hotel decor and spacious common areas and room was lovely with comfy beds, great coffee machine (Nespresso), decorated in blue gray, lots of light, quiet, and immaculate! Excellent stay, quality staff, and great location! Thanks you - will stay there next time for sure!
My wife and I stayed at the Magnolia Hotel in late July 2022. Excellent location - round the corner from the Empress Hotel and the harbour. It's a 20-min walk from the Fisherman's Wharf. Free wi-fi and breakfast were included in the rate. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Quiet at night. Excellent room service. There was a Nespresso coffee machine as well. Bathroom was decent size, included a shower, and had good water pressure. The bathroom sink was a little clogged and drained very slowly, but other than that no issues. Breakfast was included in the rate. It's continental but was sufficient. Interesting selection of choices between the protein breakfast, oatmeal, and one other option. I would highly recommend staying at Magnolia while visiting Victoria.
Amazing hotel and staff. Staff and amenities are exceptional. Beautiful flower arrangements in the lobby. Valet staff are efficient. The Courtney Room food was incredible. You could walk to the Empress, waterfront, Chinatown and legislative grounds. We’ll definitely be back!
Service, continental breakfast, rooms, cleanliness, location: Excellent! Right at the harbour and close to everything in downtown Victoria, you can't be more central than this. Love the L'Occitane toiletries. Modern room and bathroom. We were upgraded to a luxurious corner suite and it could not have been nicer. Staff at the front desk and outside were courteous and friendly. We did the valet parking. If you're going to stay in a hotel like the Magnolia, don't worry about the parking fee. There is paid public parking nearby, but valet parking was worth the extra cost and felt safer. We loved staying here!
The hotel is in easy walking distance to many shops, sights and restaurants downtown. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You are truly pampered with the luxury toiletries, bedding, breakfast etc.
