Older hotel no elevator but clean. Decent sized room. Friendly helpful staff. Has both a restaurant and a pub. Slightly off the beaten path in a quieter neighbor, but walking distance or quick taxi to anything you need.

We booked this thru the Victoria Clipper. The hotel is a ten minute walk from downtown and a twenty minute walk from the Clipper dock. It is a pleasant walk down safe streets. The building has several floors with no elevators. Our room was large with two queen beds and private bath. No A/C, but we were there in December...

This is by no means like your average chain hotel. It is a well maintained older, turn of the century style hotel. It is furnished about the place with furnishings and décor to meet the era of the building. The rooms, although a bit small, are comfortable and well furnished. I will say it was nice to have the mini...

Spent 8 nights with a buddy, who, when he mentioned that his room was noisy from the housekeeping room, they immediately gave him a great upstairs room and made me jealous because it was bigger than mine. Steve and the rest of the front desk staff were wonderful, and the area around there was fun to walk around in. You...

I loved this little hotel. It's location is just south of the main business district; the location is on a "main" street but the surroundings are residential in its immediate area. I found it very convenient. The lobby was very warmly appointed, the rooms clean and the bed excellent. Staff was more than helpful. The on-site restaurant was more than...

I travelled off season, so I was able to get an excellent deal on a room, which enabled me to stay in Victoria for 5 lovely days. I took the first scheduled ferry of the day, which meant I was much too early for check-in. The man at the desk let me park the car in the lot and I...

Outstanding location equal distance to downtown shopping / Government Street attractions, and the Dallas Rd. beaches/ waterfront and Beacon Hill park. Also less than 2 blocks away from the Emily Carr house. The inn is an interesting historic building, with an antique-y feel. Slanted floors (I did not mind them - they add character imo!) and old- fashioned coil heaters,...

My husband and I stayed here for one night last year at Christmas. The lodge was very cozy and full of character and I loved it. The main lobby could use some redecorating, I remember it felt a bit tired. The *free* breakfast was served in the main lobby, it wasn't anything fancy but it was wonderful to have a selection...

We had a great room on the second floor in the corner of the hotel with a bay window. It was large and comfortable. The hotel is filled with antiques and old photos. It even has it's own resident ghost!! The restaurant has amazing food. Breakfast there will keep you going for the entire day! The chef's evening three course...

It seems like Victoria has a year-round high season, so finding a room at a reasonable price can be very challenging. I looked at a number of discount web sites but none offered a good deal within easy walking distance of the Inner Harbour and the downtown area. So I went back to the James Bay Inn website and found...
