Built in 1912, this hotel reminds of earlier days, especially when a horse-and-carriage clip-clops by!. Unique building - no two rooms are alike, and each floor is different. Pub and restaurant on the premises. Staff super-friendly and helpful. Quiet. Terrific location - just a short...More

No air conditioning. Rooms have fans and the windows open. Victoria seldom gets hot enough for air conditioning. It's hardly ever humid. As the temperature goes up, the humidity goes down. Temperature drops rapidly at sunset. It's a very comfortable climate. It rarely goes above 30C/90F and there is usually a breeze off the ocean that moderates. I never missed air conditioning at the James Bay Inn or when I lived in the city for 10 years.
