Traveling with my dog (Siberian Husky) and stayed for five nights. The location is beautiful, as is the B&B. It was peaceful and so quiet - I did not hear my fellow B&B'ers at night so was able to sleep well (very comfy bed). There were several lovely patio areas where one could look out at the bird sanctuary while enjoying a morning coffee or evening wine. A short walk away was Matilda Park; very small but a nice quiet area to potty my dog with easy access to a garbage container. There was no latter "B" in B&B, but fresh hot muffins were delivered each morning (this was noted in the booking that breakfast was not included so I was not expecting anything - it was a nice touch). I would definitely recommend and book again if I go back to Victoria.

We spent the Christmas and New Year’s holidays at Birds of a Feather and loved it. We didn’t want to leave this peaceful storybook place on the western beaches of Victoria. We booked the honeymoon suite and also the exclusive use of the hot tub just yards from the waters edge. We truly enjoyed the heated floors, the huge soaker tub, and the over sized rain shower. The ocean views from our suite changed daily. The last day of our stay there was a full arch rainbow over the water. Every morning they brought freshly baked “small pie sized” muffins to our suite. The ocean lagoon is a migratory bird sanctuary with hundreds of sea birds to watch. There’s even a birding scope in the room! We already booked for our summer holidays.

This was the perfect location for our romantic getaway! The gorgeous view of the lagoon, and serene setting gave us that magical touch that let us slip into another world where we disappeared from the business of life. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family from the moment we got there. Check in was seamless, the room was spotless and every little detail was spot on from the fire place to heated floors, hot tub and these amazing muffins Dieter’s wife Paphada makes. What a surprise. We will definitely be coming back. This is one of those bucket list things

The moment we arrived at Birds of a Feather instant peace & relaxation washed over us! From the gorgeous serene view of the lagoon with beautiful bird life & a fresh breeze, to the immaculately clean and well kept rooms with a giant tub & coziest bed- we are absolutely thrilled to have found this gem away from the busy city. Our hosts were kind and timely with any inquiries or needs, the fresh baked muffins were the icing on the cake for us! And the prices are extremely reasonable for all that this place offers. A must stay! Thank you! Chelsea & Robin

Today I had a private boat tour booked with Birds of a Feather Marine Tours. I wanted to go back to an Island I hadn't been to for 30 yrs and wanted to take my family to the place I had so many fond memories of. The whole experience was a pleasure from booking, the actual boat (new Axopar) and the trip itself. Dieter made us feel welcome, he Captained his boat well and was even telling us about some of the wildlife we encountered along the way. He had to wait while we toured the Island and had lunch which I'm sure wasn't overly exciting for him for the couple hours we were there but he never rushed us or made us feel like we needed to go. My boys got bored early as expected so I asked Dieter to show us some wildlife on the way back. We were able to spot porpoises, a sea lion, plenty of seals basking on rocks, bird life, we went through some neat passages, past some beautiful scenery and enjoyed some fun times on the water. My wife usually gets motion sick (my biggest concern was her not really enjoying the day because of it) but on the Axopar, that boat is so smooth it cuts through the water that well. We did spend quite some time fighting the wind and waves, crossing other boats wakes and she said she never felt nautious once. Unfortunately the whales eluded us today, that wasn't the purpose of the journey, but would have been the icing on the cake. Thank you Dieter for a great trip and helping make new memories while bringing back plenty of old ones.

We booked the 3 of the condos for 10 days with our family of 10 meeting up from Ontario, California and Alberta. Innkeepers Paphada and Dieter were exceptionally pleasant, attentive and helpful.

This is not your parents' B&B where you are staying in someone's house, nor in common areas where the Innkeepers also live. This is a uniquely purpose built B&B with 3 condos on the 2nd floor of their private residence. We had private entrances and enjoyed many common areas outdoors where we enjoyed meals and visits. We also made good use of the BBQ.

We were told ahead of time we could book with, or without breakfast at a reduced cost. We were told this is an option to address both rising food costs, and waste as guests don't always show up for breakfast. Even though we opted to try different local eateries our rooms were still stocked with yogurts, juices, coffee, fruit, granola bars, cereals, oatmeal, and milk. On some mornings they even surprised us with freshly baked over-sized muffins that were to die for. We told Paphada she should open a muffin shop!
There was a perfect balance between the Innkeepers communicating in real time by texts and yet not being in "our space" where you thought you were in intruding in someone's home. When we asked for fresh towels they arrived instantly.
Our teenagers loved the courtesy canoe and kayaks right a their dock. My son-in-law played his guitar at the campfire. The place is spotlessly clean and magical in a postcard setting. We were sad to leave, however, we’re already planning to book again for 2024!

This is a gem of a location inside and out. As soon as you pull up you get a sense of calm, quiet beauty. We stayed in the family room (it was just the two of us but that was the room available) and it was lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious with a fully stocked kitchenette and the BEST soaker tub and rain shower in the bathroom. The exterior is even better - we had our own private deck, but my favorite was the huge deck at ground level and the big Adirondack chairs at the end of the dock where you could watch the birds in all their glory. Every day around 5 my husband and I would be entertained by the many beautiful birds floating and flying nearby - we saw geese, swans, cranes, and I think herons (although I'm no bird expert). Sitting out there with a glass of wine watching the bird party was my favourite part of the day. This B and B is right across from Hatley Castle and the Fort Rood lighthouse (you can canoe, kayak or bike over there if you want) and within 20-30 minutes of a ton of attractions like Butchart Gardens and downtown Victoria. At the end of a busy day, I loved coming back to the calm, quiet peaceful atmosphere at Birds of a Feather. It was less expensive than a hotel room in the area and you get so much more. We are definitely coming back again.

We were a family of 4 and stayed in the spacious family suite for one week. Our kids ages 5 and 8 loved their private beds accessible with a very safe circular staircase. The place is very unique and buikr to the highest stsndards and cleaned to thise dame high standards. Beautful waterfront location with numerous sheltered outdoor seating areas. This is our new favourite place to stay for our annual family visits to Victoria.

Stayed in the family suite for several weeks. Despite being pricey was money well spent. Owners were great communicators and very accommodating. The place is beautiful with bicycles and kayaks available to use, and nearby trails to hike. Family suite is loft style with 3 beds. Small but full kitchen all dishes were available, extra towels available upon request. Overall fantastic stay.

Sorry for the delay... just saw this ... we never had a question here before :) Are you flying on to Vancouver or Victoria? There is public transportation all over Victoria, however, where possible we strongly recommend hiring a car otherwise you'll miss the best parts which are not directly in the city such as Butchart Gardens. These are also accessible by public transportation, however, you'll be spending a lot of your vacation on buses

Hi there, yes, I agree it's a very short drive from the (beautiful) B&B. It was quite an easy 15-20 drive, even at night, especially if you have a GPS. The B&B is in a more residential area, but the streets are pretty lit. Directly around the B&B there isn't really much to do. I recommend you drive. I hope I answered your question :)
