Hotel's Favorite
The Inner Harbour area is the best Victoria location for accommodation, and there is no better value than the Royal Scot. The most accessible walking destinations - one block to Inner Harbour and Legislature, 2 blocks to BC Museum, 2 blocks to James Bay restaurants, pubs, liquour store, grocery stores. Keep walking through James Bay to get to the walking path along the ocean. Government Street restaurants and attractions are easily accessible via a scenic walk along the Inner Harbour. Free parking including 2 free EV (electric vehicle) charging stations. Very clean good sized swimming pool and jacuzzi, and workout room with 4 machines and free weights. Book directly through the hotel - it was even cheaper than the Booking.com Genius level rates - and that rarely happens. Booking direct through any hotel gives you a better chance of getting a free upgrade. The atmosphere is positively different from the big chain hotels. Rent bikes nearby and cycle the Galloping Goose and/or the Lochside Trail. Have a good value lunch at the Legislature Buildings (8:30 - 2:00) reservations recommended. James Bay has good value pubs and restaurants. On Government Street there is live music (7 pm) at Irish Times and Bard and Banker pubs. BC Museum is a must see. We were given a free upgrade to a room with full kitchen.

That's because we're a locally owned and operated hotel for almost 50 years! Look forward to welcoming you back again. Safe Travels! Best Wishes Zeynep Ozgunc / Front Office Manager

We had two nights in Victoria, on our own, during a Thanksgiving Trip built primarily around time with my son. My research led me to Royal Scot as a hotel which offered superb value for a very nice, relatively small hotel in an excellent location just a block or two from the Harbour waterfront (see photos taken on walks to dinner) and short walk into Victoria’s downtown. The hotel met and exceeded expectations in all areas. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable; staff was extremely welcoming and attentive & the pool & hot tub were open, clean and very enjoyable. We had an awesome couple of days in Victoria and strongly recommend Royal Scot as a home base. We would definitely stay there next trip to the area!

You really can't beat the price for the location and service you get with this hotel. A very short and beautiful walk in almost any direction gets you to water, whether it is the Uber harbor, Fisherman's Wharf or Ogden Point. Downtown and all it's lovely shops/eateries are just moments away on foot. The hotel staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The decor is a bit dated but that didn't matter to us given all the other bonuses. Free parking too!
