I have stayed at the Laurel Point a few times and up until my last visit had stayed in the Ericson Wing is much newer than the Laurel Wing. Every area of the Inn is very well maintained and clean. The staff is very friendly and professional and have always demonstrated a genuine interest in our comfort and how we can enjoy Victoria. The main difference in my recent experience is my room in the Laurel Wing, it is very comfortable and well-appointed but it doesn’t not have the same details of the Ericson Wing with the main difference the size of the rooms, the glass balcony railing, and the outside lounging area. If your looking for a great stay in Victoria this is the place just be sure to check out the room before hand so you get the experience you want.

Stayed 2 nights at he Laurel Point, with our cat and dog. Cat Victors 1st hotel stay so we were mildly concerned but we had a lovely room overlooking the city and inner harbour. Victor had a great perch to watch the world go by which he loved. Staff were lovely and warm always giving us and the pets a warm greeting or pat....doggy treats at the front desk were also appreciated by Murphy. Location is great, grabbed take-out on our 1st night there to make sure the pets were comfortable, so an easy walk to Fishermans Wharf. We brought our bikes so nice bike room to keep them locked up in ....a card key lock and very visible easy to access when we wanted them. The pool was a bit warm but better than cool??

We stayed at the Inn at Laurel Point on the night of September 5 2020 and were extremely disappointed. This hotel has gone downhill and sadly management doesn’t seem to care at all. We stayed here in 2016 and had a positive experience. I specifically booked this hotel because of our good experience in the past. However this time was a totally different ball game. Our first room was dirty, with grass and dog hair on the floor, hair on the bed, and a dirty toilet. We were moved to a different room, and we were so relieved to be out of the first room and into a seemingly clean room, that we didn’t check things over before leaving to go sight seeing around town. When we returned late at night to go to sleep, we realized that the bed was broken. Actually broken. The mattress was completely caved in. We didn’t sleep at all. In addition, we noticed that the toilet was loose and jiggling around. Curtains were partially unhooked and missing blackout liner. Paintings were hanging crooked. Finally, the cherry on the top of this amazing ice cream sundae, I was so cold from the air-conditioning system (that ran even though I turned it off) that I decided to use one of the bath robes provided by the hotel. I opened it up to discover that it was dirty. I’ll let you use your imagination on that one. Overall a terrible night. What made it really sad for us, was that when we brought the issues to the attention of the front desk as we were checking out, all they did was insincerely apologize (it sounded very scripted) and reimbursed our parking. The manager would not even look me in the eye. I asked if they could do something else for us (refund? Upgrade?) but they went silent. They said someone from the hotel would reach out to us to try to make things right. That never happened. We won’t be back and we don’t recommend staying here unless you want an uncertain experience, a tenuous sleep and potentially unsanitary conditions. What a shame! I think the head hotelier even won a management award for this hotel. Can’t understand why.

I stayed at the Laurel Point for one night. I had an indoor cat with me, which the hotel graciously allowed for $30 extra per night. Total room cost, including the cat, the parking fee at the hotel ($17 per night), plus taxes, was $267 for one night. All of the staff were excellent, and couldn't do enough for me despite the challenges of working with the public during a pandemic. The mattress was very old, I could feel the springs and it sagged in several places. I wound up putting a sheet and blanket on the settee, at least it was comfortable. The worst part of my stay was the air conditioning. For some reason, the room never cooled down, despite the temperature outside being quite cool. I ran the air conditioner and fan (also very ancient), but they were too noisy for sleeping. Also, I could hear the neighbour's fan running all night, VERY loud. The air conditioning system desperately needs replacing. The pool was nice, but too warm!

We booked five nights at the Laurel Point and were not disappointed. View of the harbor was lovely, watching all the activities on the water. The protocols under Covid were well done. Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend !
