We stayed from December 26 to 29. Our stay was okay but not exceptional. I love the renovations that have been done in the lobby but the rooms are average. Toilet flush is noisy and long. Heat was difficult to control. Our family had two rooms. One with a view to the water the other with a view of the roof. Pick the water view. The car parking is very handy just steps from the front door.

Hi W3544TXdave, It certainly is a shame to hear we missed the mark - I can assure you that our restaurant's impeccable standards are closely adhered to and often receive favorable feedback (see reviews above). As this is concerning to hear, I'd love to look into this further. Please reach out to me directly with your booking details, at michelle.bogaert@laurelpoint.com. I hope we can rectify this together! Kindly, Michelle, Guest Services Manager

Hi SuperDave47, Thanks for leaving us a great review! Spot on - minimalist elegance is exactly what we go for in the Erickson Wing :) Our team is thrilled to hear your glowing praises as well. We don't currently have plans for a hot tub, but be sure to try out our fabulous soaker tubs in our Studio Suites! We hope to see you back in the near future! Michelle Bogaert, Guest Services Manager

We loved our waterfront view from the Erickson Wing. We sampled several items from the restaurant, Aura's, small plates menu. The food was exceptional and interestingly presented. Service was professional and friendly and we can't wait to return.

I don’t normally write reviews about the many hotels I have stayed in globally, but this one was so bad I felt a duty to disclose my experience staying at this hotel. I was visiting my daughter who attends the university of Victoria. First this hotel does not clean rooms. I stayed for 3 nights and their “policy” is “due to “Covid we are not able to clean the room”. This is one of the most egregious lies that I’ve been told by the front desk staff. To deceive your guest by telling them that the reason why the room was not cleaned was due to Covid is simply a lie (obviously…does the front desk actually think their guests are that stupid to buy into that lie?). The truth is this hotel struggles with getting enough cleaning staff and this is the reason why my room was not cleaned (the manager confessed this after a rather annoying conversation). While I sympathize with the hotel in terms of their labour struggles, perhaps a way to mitigate guest disappointment is to FAIRLY AND PLAINLY DISCLOSE THIS TO YOUR GUESTS, preferably PRIOR to booking, but most certainly, when they check in. Second, I should also mention that the “complimentary” valet parking (which charges $18 per day plus tax) worked twice; on the third time the valet handed me my keys and told me to go fetch my car myself. Third, there is a sign that tells guests to enjoy a complimentary coffee in the morning. When I asked where the coffee was I was directed to the restaurant which charged me for a cup of coffee. I have no issue with paying for a cup of coffee, however, it takes a simpleton to understand that the sign offering complementary coffee ought to be removed. While I’m here I might as well opine on the very dated rooms. Terrible. The heating system seems circa 1970. Stay somewhere else for the money.
