We recently stayed for 3 nights at the Chateau Victoria the Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but very dated. The location is close to all amenities and within walking distance to the inner harbour and restaurants if your looking for a mid range hotel the Château Victoria checks all the boxes would stay here again when in Victoria. No house cleaning available at the time due to Covid. If you require anything contact front desk. Stayed in Room 419.

Thank you for your review Brian. We are glad you enjoyed your birthday weekend in Victoria. I have great news regarding our comment about our traditional rooms being dated. We are very happy to announce that we will be renovating all our traditional rooms located on floors 2, 3, and 4, starting in February. These we last done in 2013 so we are very happy to get them updated prior to the normal 10 year period for hotel renovations.

Recently stayed for my birthday weekend. From my booking on the phone with Taylor, who was courteous, helpful and pleasant. Then Cathy, the hotel clerk who checked us in early with no hesitation and was very accommodating. All of the staff were friendly and very informative. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is fantastic, easy walks to restaurants, pubs, and attractions. The pool and hot tub are great, although the hot tub was a bit warm, still enjoyed it though. I felt very welcomed and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for making my stay in Victoria so very pleasant.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The first visit was for just one night. My husband and I both enjoyed our stay although we were not there for very long. The second visit I was there solo and stayed for one month. I stayed in one of their superior suites. The room had a separate bedroom and a living room and small kitchen. The furnishings are basic but comfortable and clean. The kitchen is equipped with the very basics. There was only one frying pan but a full set of other pots and although there was a can opener it did not work very well. There were enough dishes, cups/glasses and utensils although a small sharp knife would have been nice. I ended up going to the dollar store and purchasing a lid for the frying pan and a few other utensils. I was disappointed that there was only a small RV size fridge. The photos online show a full-size fridge but I managed fine I just had to make a few extra shopping trips. If you are staying just a few days and are not cooking a lot in the room then the kitchen is more than adequate. The room has a coffee maker and a kettle and I was kept very well supplied with both coffee and tea. The coffee was exceptional! I did make use of the fitness room and the pool. Both are very clean and I had no problems with any of the fitness machines. The pool is a good size. There is only one shower in the change room. We ate breakfast at the Vista 18 and were very happy with the food and the friendly staff. We found the prices comparable to other restaurants. The hotel suite is a good size with a sofa and chair as well as a desk area with a chair. A small dining table for 2 with chairs. There is a large balcony area that I enjoyed standing out on and looking out over the city. What a fantastic view of the parliament buildings all lit up at night. ( I was on the 12th floor) I did find the room tended to be a bit hot and was definitely too hot (for me) for sleeping. I found it necessary to keep the bedroom window open which was an issue on a couple of occasions when there were some very noisy groups out on the balconies until the wee hours of the morning but this was only maybe 3 nights out of 26 so not bad. I loved the location of this hotel. It is within walking distance of so many major attractions and great shopping areas. Lots of restaurants close by. Frankie's Diner and the Spaghetti Factory were two of my favorites. Overall I would say the best features of the hotel were the very friendly and helpful staff, and the excellent location. My friend also stayed for a few days at the hotel and we both agreed that we will most definitely have to make this hotel an annual fall trip.

Wow, what a great review. We are starting to add more things to the kitchen suites after so many months of keeping things at a minimum due to Covid 19 touch points. I am very happy to see that our staff remained the best feature after a month of observation. Thank you so much and we sure hope to see you and your friend again one day.

Spot on location, the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites is an 18 storey property centrefold of all of Victoria's action. Over numerous years this real estate has under significant makeovers into a sophisticated modern look. It is a superb place to pick for a beach/seaside relaxation spot as well as being in close proximity for shopping, eating venues and sight seeing ventures. The property was erected in 1775 as an apartment building with an iteration of makeovers the property has reincarnated itself as a hotel with accommodations decorated in muted colours, sleek lines and down duvets. My one bedroom suite with balcony , far reaching views and huge space was most impressive. The bath was spicy with a shower/ tub combination and overall my room was a great value item. The Vista 18 is a West Coast Grill & Wine Bar. It is located on the hotel's 18 floor and is coined as the only rooftop restaurant in Victoria and as a result the Vista captures stunning city and harbour views. Fresh and seasonal cuisines is always available and the menu is strong in meatier items like beef, lamb, duck and chicken. Chateau Victorias is also home to Clives Classic Lounge, one of the best places in town for handcrafted cocktails. I got hooked on the Limoncello Spritzer (Limoncello, Riesling, Grapefruit juice). Looking for a hotel that is central to everything Victoria has to offer.....family friendly, staff friendly, dog friendly, just plain friendly and great value.....then try the ................ .................Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites.......Pampering & Economical Lodging.

Thank you for the great review. You could work in our marketing department with that kind of detail. I am very happy you enjoyed your time in Victoria. I'm doing the reverse to you and heading to Ottawa shortly and I am sure I'll enjoy the folks back east as much as you enjoyed it out here on the coast. We really do have a wonderful country. I hope you can return one day.

Booked a stay in September as part of a BC Ferries vacation package. The packages offer great value and the ferry voyage is included in the cost as well. Rooms are fairly comfortable and they are quiet as well since it's not located on a busy street but the location is brilliant and only about 5 minutes walk to most places of interest. Staff are professional and friendly as well. Driving wise, there is plenty of parking although they do charge a nominal daily rate for it. It's easy to get to as it lies in between Douglas and Blanshard which are the two major highways leading out of town. Would definitely recommend it.
