I really don’t have anything negative to say about our 2 night stay Abigails - from start to finish it was AMAZING. Friendliness of staff, food quality, Opal room - 5/5. Definitely will recommend this hotel to others.
This is a terrific hotel -- small enough to provide excellent , personable service and big enough to provide all the amenities a guest can expect. In short, my wife and I find the overall value and location of Abigail's second-to-none among places to stay in Victoria. Looking forward to the new rooms once they are completed later this year.
We had a room on the quiet 3rd floor (2nd floor in Canada). We arrived early and our room was not ready but we were able to store our bags and head out to explore. Very well kept B&B that is in a quiet neighborhood just outside of the downtown. Easy to walk everyone. There is no elevator but one is being added when their new addition opens - perhaps by the end of 2022. Comfortable bedding with AC which was great since we were traveling during one of the summer heat waves. Delicious breakfast with 3 courses served by very friendly servers - all included in our rate. Definitely got you ready for whatever was planned for your day. FYI - there is no Uber service yet in Victoria. We had come by ferry from Seattle and we did walk with our bags (uphill) to the hotel (about 1 km) as the taxi would not take 4 of us in his car.…
My husband and I stayed here twice during our two week 30th wedding anniversary trip, before and after our visit to Tofino. Service was warm, welcoming and accommodating. Both my husband and I are allergic to feathers, so Abigail's replaced the feather bedding with synthetic. Our rooms were beautifully appointed. I felt very spoiled. I can see why so many couples choose Abigail's for special occasions like anniversaries, honeymoons....and even proposals! We had told Abigail's it was our special 30th anniversary trip, and our welcome card not only had a handwritten anniversary message and the yummy Abigail's cookies but also some gourmet chocolate-dipped strawberries! The bed was SUPER comfortable and sheets extraordinarily soft. Everything in our room was spotless, well-maintained. I used the jacuzzi one afternoon while my husband napped, and it was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious, the server and chef friendly and accommodating. I wish we had spent more time in the library, which looked incredibly peaceful and inviting...but there is SO much to do and see within walking distance that my husband and I spent most of the day exploring Victoria. We stayed in a second floor room (room name had Fox in it) the first week and a third floor room (Canterbury) the second week, after we came back from Tofino. I preferred Fox because there were fewer stairs to climb, and the Canterbury room looked out over the construction site (as the website warns, there was some construction noise during the day, including a concrete truck and stone-cutting). I know the construction is temporary, of course - when you're booking, though, I advise asking about the window view of the room. I look forward to returning to Abigail's when construction is complete! We didn't really mind the noise because we were usually out and about during the day. Another tip: If you have mobility issues, I would ask for a room on the main floor.…
We enjoyed our second stay here - the first was 25 years ago. The desk clerk was very helpful - much appreciated. The location to downtown shops and restaurants was a enjoyable walk. Didn’t like the porch light outside our window…
Fabulous service was our first impression when we checked in. The room was lovely and the staff gladly made accommodations for my shower. Quiet, clean and spacious. The library was calming and comfortable. But the breakfasts were absolutely impeccable. I couldn't have been happier with all aspects of Abigail's.
Very much enjoyed our two night stay in Room 1B. Nice big room with huge jacuzzi bath and cosy fireplace. Breakfast was delicious and all staff friendly and courteous. 5 star from me as I mentioned that I wouldn't take up the offer of the free charcuterie board available as I don't eat meat or cheese. The next evening a delicious soup was on offer that was both meat and dairy free, thank you for listening (you wouldn't believe the number of hotels who dont). The only negative I would say is that booking a breakfast time isn't ideal especially if your preferred time isn't available, though I see why you have to do this due to lack of space. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
really beautiful hotel and excellent staff in a good location not far from harbor and city center. Afternoon tea with cheeseplate was delicious and it is nice to sit outside and enjoy the snack. The beds and bedsheets are heavenly soft.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are very accommodating. You don’t feel rushed at any time. The Hotel receiptioniist was very professional and at the same time very helpful. The chef is one of the best we have experienced in our travels
Abigail’s is a lovely hotel for an overnight stay in Victoria. From the freshly baked cookies to the comfy bed, great shower and bath, early check in, delicious breakfast and old world charm, everything was perfect.
