I stayed at this hotel “3” times this past month, and each time exceeded my expectations. The purpose of my stays were a spiritual retreat and also to take care of some valued friends from my church.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and professional and always interested in the safety of the customer. Face coverings were worn properly by staff. Each member of the team was courteous to my guests during my stay. During these Covid-19 times rooms are not entered by staff daily unless requested specifically by the customer. The hallways, dining area and rooms were clean and very professionally maintained. The hotel and location exudes a sense of serenity that is complimented by the staff, and the complimentary breakfast in the restaurant for Titanium/Platinum members is a wonderful bonus! The restaurant staff during my stay remembered me personally and were very pleasant and friendly as if you could “see” the smile beneath their face covering. I felt at home. The hotel is situated perfectly by the Harbor, so much so that I will be coming a 4th time in recent days for another retreat. The beautiful walk along the Harbor connected to the hotel is an absolute must, and definitely Butchart gardens and a bike rental from the nearby shops is a must if quiet reflection is desired!

Now an important note. I was particularly impressed by “Justin Foisy” who works at guest experiences in this hotel. First of all, not only is he very pleasant to talk with but he genuinely excels at his job. To be completely honest, on my first stay there was an issue with check-in concerning one of the rooms and a miscommunication that occurred. Justin and the other manager on staff showed genuine empathy for my situation and did their best not only to resolve the issue, but to go over the top in accommodating that my experience at the hotel was pleasant. On each of my stays the staff at this hotel have treated my valued guests and I with the highest care and concern!

The true mark of a great hotel is not one that never makes a mistake. The staff work hard, but life does happen and mistakes or miscommunication occur. It is during these times that grace and compassion on both parties are needed. However, what distinguishes a good hotel from a great hotel, is one that is willing to work with the customer to find a solution, while showing genuine empathy and compassion. When hotels are strictly concerned about profits this doesn’t happen, however at the Delta Hotel in Victoria, it was their concern for the customer that made this hotel get top marks in my books! I have recommended your hotel to friends and will continue coming here when in the Victoria area! Thank you Marriot!

My husband & I loved every minute of our 3 night stay Feb 27-Mar 1 at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort.

We had booked a king size bed, harbour front room & we loved the magnificent view from our floor to ceiling windows. Turing our two large wing chairs around to face the water was a wonderful way to enjoy hours of peaceful viewing of float planes taking off & landing, ships arriving & departing, shuttle boats moving about & the endless people walking their dogs, jogging or just sitting out & enjoying coffee. The night view of the lights across the harbour of the Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel & more were a sight to behold.

Our room was very comfortable. We liked having the convenience of a mini fridge but missed having an in room safe. There is an umbrella if you need one (we didn't!), cloth bag to use for shopping, robes & good toiletries (including conditioner).

We didn't use the pool & the hot tub was closed for maintenance. It was disappointing that while the spa offers "couples massage", they only have one registered massage therapist so we did not go ahead with that.

The on site restaurant Lure has a great happy hour daily from 3-5 pm with drink & appetizer specials. We sat at the window overlooking the harbour - what a great way to enjoy a couple of hours after a day of exploring Victoria. There is also a "grab and go" coffee shop, which offers sandwiches, muffins, coffee, etc.

We took advantage of the walking path for a 5 minute walk over the bridge to downtown Victoria, where you'll find an abundance of shops, restaurants & sight seeing options. The hotel also has a free shuttle, which will take you & pick you up from any downtown location. We used this twice (the driver was not busy & kind enough to drop us off at CraigDarroch Castle early one morning) & we walked back to our hotel from there.

Any staff we encountered were friendly & the property is spotlessly clean. We slept soundly, even with the all the goings on in the harbour. The ability to open our hotel windows to enjoy the sounds & fresh spring air was a real bonus.

We will definitely chose to stay at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort next time we visit Victoria. Highly recommend!

In Canada in our province of BC / British Columbia we are not allowed to travel outside our health zone on Vancouver Island. So we decided to take a stay vacation for our wedding anniversary/husband's birthday.
We stayed two nites with no indoor dining allowed due to covid shutdowns
The hotel has put outside a covered patio area to serve food, very nice with flower pots and heaters and a view of harbour downtown.
If the weather is inclement you can order room service which is very different. Our food was very good and came quickly but it's left at your door in a paper bag, food is in cardboard containers with wooden forks and knives allowing a complete throw away
I get all of this but it might be hard to cut a steak with these wooden tools -ha ha
No cleaning of room but you can request it as well as new towels etc
Masks are required in all public areas as Canada is at a different stage of covid protection than the US has.
We got a senior's rate and we collect Marriott points as well .
Thanks to the hotel for the lovely chocolate truffles and anniversary note in room
The room had a lovely view to the harbour and it came with the only corner full size balcony that could accommodate 10-15 people. Wonderful lounge furniture and drop dead views.
Bathroom was reasonable size with nice toiletries and makeup mirror. ( One sink)

Cons ... This room is showing its age and the carpet needs to be removed and I suggest laminate or linoleum beachy wood look. The two chairs closest to indoor viewing window have made holes in the floor because without castors they only pull on the rug that currently exist. This rug is also lumping up in spots.
I would suggest removing the fake bleached flowers on huge balcony and replace with real small shrubs or grasses that won't need lots of care
As well huge outdoor couch should be moved closest to edge of balcony to view better and move smaller chair and foot rest to back area .
The throw outdoor carpet needs to be taped down for safety reasons so you don't trip on it which we did .

We normally spend a weekend in Victoria once or twice a year when we are really needing a staycation. We always look for a nice place to stay that has a good location.

This year we stayed at the Delta Hotel. The location is a little out of the way but really not much. You can walk a quieter waterfront area or have cocktails overlooking the waterfront with stunning views of the marina, the empress and parliament building. In the summer and early fall you can take the pickle boats from different locations on the harbour. So much fun!

The staff at check-in seems to never have a room ready even 15mins before check in. I swear it's a game. But whatever it does say 4pm check-in. So we had a drink in there restaurant. The staff is always friendly. The lobby is always very clean and nice to look at.

Our room was lovely. They upgraded us for $20 for a large king room with a harbour view. The room is showing a little wear and tear on the carpets but other than that it was beautiful and a fantastic home base for our staycation. The bathrooms have had most of it upgraded. The tubs are in need of a change out. How this room only sleeps 2 guests would be nice if it had a big walking shower with a rainfall shower head for the price you pay for the room.

I normally find there is not to many party goers who stay here because of the large price tag that goes with the hotel. This time it was different the vent that some how connected to the room next to us transferred the pot smell from when our neighbours hotboxed their hotel room. The only good thing was they were not loud.

The hotel was great. Check in staff were very friendly. Great views. Rooms were clean and spacious. Nothing to complain about. EXCEPT 2 things. Couldn’t get a cup of coffee in the morning except for $4/takeout cup at the restaurant on site - Hotel room coffee doesn’t count as it’s terrible everywhere :-)

The restaurant was a hot mess. It was over 75% empty and we had to wait 30 minutes without a reservation. When asked, one hostess commented “I’m not trying to be mean”. Strangest reply. We were quoted 20 minutes and after 30 I asked how much longer. Her reply was I told you 30 minutes and we’ll seat you shortly. After she walked away I asked another hostess why so long and she was honest enough to say there wasn’t enough staff on.
The first hostess sat another table close by and when they asked if they could have a different table in the sun (it was chilly) they were told no because the table was got 6 and they were only a party of 2. The patio was 75% empty and there were tons of options for a party of 6 elsewhere.
Server was friendly but only saw her twice during the entire visit. A table beside us asked for coffee refills 3 separate times and didn’t get it. What looked to be managers were busy bussing tables instead of helping servers take care of customers.
Food came hot and tasty and with very little delay.
If I rated the hotel based on the only dining option they offer, I’d give it a 1/5.
I’m mindful that places are playing catch-up from Covid. However, we stayed in 5 hotels travelling the island and main land over a couple of weeks and didn’t experience this low level of service at any other location.

From start to finish this property and its associates are committed to exceeding guest expectations.

Rooms seem updated, clean and quite quiet. Requests for towels, shampoo, etc are fulfilled extremely quickly.

Platinum and higher are in for two free breakfasts from Lure Restaurant along with the 1000 welcome points or $10 Food/Drink voucher.

Downtown Victoria is about a 5-7 minute walk- this location is close but not so close to the energetic downtown.

Would definitely return to this property.

I went with my wife to a seminar in Victoria and we stayed here for two nights. The staff were friendly and helpful (like almost everyone I met in Victoria). Our room had a king bed, a sitting area by the window, and nice amenities such as a coffee maker, iron, mini fridge, and even an umbrella. It had everything that a traveler could need. The hotel restuarant was really good. If you have breakfast, go with the forager omelette, it was delicious! The hotel overlooks the water and downtown Victoria. Downtown is a very short walk across the bridge. Don't worry, the bridge is very pedestrian friendly. The downtown area has a ton of places to eat and drink as well as points of interest. During my stay, I visited downtown at all random times, day and night, and I always felt safe. There is a bit if a homeless population that hangs out near the downtown side of the bridge, but I never saw them bother anyone. Overall, I loved Victoria and this hotel is a great place to stay during your trip!

We booked a view room looking out over Victoria Harbour and it was totally worth it especially at night when you can see the lights of the Parliament Building and downtown. Room was very nice with two swivel chairs set up by the window so you can easily see out at all times. Breakfast in the restaurant was good and I thank the chef who actually managed to make the crispy breakfast potatoes every morning instead of the soggy potato cubes that are usually served up at hotels. The Delta is nicely situated along the beautiful Songhees Walkway and there are good eating options within reasonable walking distance. The room itself was fine although a little bit worn in places. Big thanks to Housekeeping staff who were able to find an item I left there and made arrangements for pickup. The Club Lounge was closed during our stay but I believe it was to be opened soon.

We just returned from a week long vacation at the Delta. It was our first time in Victoria. We loved everything about our visit, including this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The complimentary shuttle is an added bonus and we often used it to go shopping, to go to restaurants and to go to yoga. The location is perfect and the view of the Xmas lights on the Parliament Building and other downtown building was breathtaking. We will be back!

Large clean room. The cleaning crews don’t clean or enter the room while you are staying because of the COVID recommendations. I guess if you needed them to clean, they would. If you need anything the front desk will provide it. Parking was a bit expensive

Yes it was open and very nice BUT I prefer the other delta doing pool/fitness reservations so not to waste time going down and counting ppl. I didn’t see any pool attendant like Kamloops and Whistler which probably means things aren’t wipped down after each guest group
