The Empress is an impressive classic hotel. The building and the grounds have been beautifully maintained. This is a beautiful hotel. The wood work and the atmostphere simply cannot be matched by more modern hotels. We very much enjoyed out time in BC and one of the best parts of that was the Empress Hotel.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. It is so nice to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. The ceiling in the Empress Dining Room that you mentioned is actually a mold of plaster and horse hair, an architectural design common in that person. It was painted to look like mahogany. There are so many little tidbits of history like that through our hotel. I will be sure to share your comments with our colleagues. They are always so happy to hear from our guests. I hope you will visit us again the next time your travels bring you to Victoria. Warm regards, Don Fennerty General Manager

This was a mother/daughter trip...and it was made more magical with the stay at the Empress. The Butchart Gardens were the starting point of our package. The agent whom I communicated with was exceptional with having the tickets at the gates for us prior to us checking in. Afternoon Tea was a real treat! The servicer, Marlyn added to the "specialness" of the experience.

We traveled up to Victoria, and spent one night at the Empress. Beautiful Hotel! We upgraded to a Gold level room, and a package deal that included High Tea and entrance to Butchart Gardens. Not particularly cheap, but really a neat experience. Buy upgrading to the gold level, we had access to a lounge that had drinks, snacks, breakfast, and an honor bar. Very elegant and upscale, not a cheap chain hotel experience. A bit of a splurge, but well worth it!

We spent three very quiet nights in a lower floor, rear room. Elegance in every detail, but the room was small, lacked places to put things, had no fridge or micro. You pay $15/day for wifi too. (Why do good hotels refuse to provide it free??) Staff were all very correct, the concierges most helpful, and everything was spotless and flawlessly maintained. I had a good swim and relaxed in the jacuzzi, a bit hard to find in the bowels of the building. We enjoyed a great buffet meal in the crystal ballroom the night before the Marathon, and exploring the classy shops in the corridors was fun. You can find far better value nearby but staying once at the Empress is worth it just for the experience.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for sharing your comments with us. It is so nice to receive comments from our loyal Victoria visitors. Unfortunately we are not hosting the Festival of Trees this year. It is taking place at The Bay Centre this year due to our renovations. We are very excited to embark on this new chapter in our history. I hope you have the opportunity to visit us again sometime soon. Warm regards, Don Fennerty General Manager
