I stayed at the HI Victoria Hostel in October 2016 for 1 night, The dorm room was MASSIVE with at least 20 beds! Thankfully the noise was kept down and I slept alright, The hostel is conveniently located downtown by the waterfront and is a short stroll away from the Parliament building, bars, and shops. The atmosphere is friendly, but... More

Having never stayed at a Hostel I was not sure what to expect. My friend and I traveled from the US and stayed in a Vancouver hotel before going to Victoria. I would go to the hostel again before going to an expensive hotel on a busy/noisy street again. The sleeping quarters were dorm style as expected. Everyone respected each... More

The best place to start your trip in Victoria. A lot of young people, in big dorms and cosiness. A lot of fun with a jamsession on mondaynight and I was quite dissapointed that I could stay for just one night.

My friend and I stayed here for one night in August 2016 in a mixed dorm of 8 people. The location is great and we loved the atmosphere. We even managed to get dressed up for a wedding in the dorm the following morning! The staff kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in a storage room for the day... More

Went for just one night, got a private room for the two of us. Decent, clean but not fancy. Bathrooms were separate from the room; make one was a pain because it was inside one of the larger dorm rooms. Female one was down the hall. The hostel in general is not updated or "nice" but we didn't really use... More

I stayed in the female dorm here a couple of weeks ago and found it adequate but very basic. The whole hostel felt a bit like a school and rather institutional. There were approximately 20 beds in the fairly clean dorm and only 1 light. (Which was off when we arrived at about 7pm but was then turned on and... More

We were travelling on bicycles as an adult family of three. We booked a private room with a shared bathroom. The room (as expected) was tiny but it did have an opening window. The linen was clean and the room worked for us. There was one bathroom closeby for the females that was absolutely filthy at 3pm. The shower was... More

A solid and affordable base for exploring Victoria. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was quite good; easy to access on foot from the ferry (I took the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria and had no vehicle or other form of transport). Rooms and bathrooms were clean and quiet. Clean sheets were provided, and the wifi worked. Staff... More
