I have had a chance to visit the Oak Bay Beach hotel once or twice a year for a getaway. We live near by. Each time we have gone the service, appearance and they customer service has gone down so much that we will not return under these circumstances. Paying up to 400/night before all the rotten taxes you would expect that the furniture in the room would be nice at least. Table was so used, tipping over it was broken but staff did not seen to be interested at all. Furniture was old and old and did I say old and worn out? Not awesome for the price. So many things you just need to pass on this place. Pool deck staff told us to stop talking but on the other side there was a group of 15 people yelling at people above in the hotel, yelling screaming and no one talked to them to shush them - drinks are $12.00 in the Snug that is boring but on the pool deck they are $20.00 - this was top of our list of complaints and they did nothing except to say " we don't post prices but you have to pay whatever we say" Beds were very comfortable must say but not worth $2100.00 for 3 nights. I would be happy to elaborate in more detail but I would be here all day listing the reasons not to go. I travel the west and stay in many hotels. I like to pay for nice hotel but Oak Bay Beach hotel is not interested in it customers or they would have at least done one thing - knock 8 bucks off one drink but "we cannot do that for you" who does it. The cleaning staff attack you when you leave your room in the morning to go for a walk. Keep telling the cleaning staff we are hear for a while do not ask us - check with your manager - so frustrating - complained and it fell on deaf ears - again do not care about their guests. We are going to the Brentwood Hotel in Brentwood Bay near by. Far cheaper and nicer. Say away from Oak Bay Beach Hotel.

Dear RKuziw, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I was disheartened to read your review and learn that we failed to meet your expectations on many points, from overall appearance to the level of service provided. All of our team members work very hard and endeavour to create special memories for our valued guests. In all sincerity, our staff are among the finest in the industry. We are proud to offer elegant and spacious guest rooms and suites, thoughtfully designed and furnished. Please accept my sincere apologies for the deficiencies in your room as this is truly uncharacteristic. As an extension of our Boathouse Spa, the heated seaside mineral pools and deck were purposefully built with a primary focus of rejuvenation and wellness. We request a level of tranquility from all guests to maintain this atmosphere. We are pleased to provide a unique dining experience at our mineral pools situated on the edge of the Salish Sea, one based on quality of ingredients and preparation. As such, premium cocktails are crafted using top shelf ingredients. Local draught beer, wines by the glass, and cocktails range from $9 - $17. Despite your experience, I genuinely hope you were still able to leave with some pleasant memories of your stay with us. If you would like to review any of your comments with me personally, please feel free to contact me at any time. I can be reached at 250.940.0301, or via email at sgould@oakbaybeachhotel.com. With appreciation, Shane Gould Hotel Operations Manager

Hotel's Favorite
We live in Victoria but my husband and I decided to spend the night at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel as a staycation during the long weekend. From the moment we stepped out of the car everything was excellent. We were greeted by three doormen before we even walked into the building! Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating! The heated mineral pool was fantastic and the hot tubs were so relaxing! You're right on the ocean so you get to experience the stunning views right from inside the pools! The staff are very conscientious of covid protocols and we felt safe and cared for the entire time. The food and drink were delicious and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We even splurged and had treatments at the spa and they were absolutely fantastic! We would highly recommend the Oak Bay Beach Hotel and we can't wait to be able to plan our next staycation there!

We had to delay a December trip based on provincial guidelines with work. Just an amazing spot that we enjoyed earlier in the spring, excellent organization and communication during an uncertain time. Views were phenomenal. It was obvious that staff were trained properly but that they were hired based on being personality, temperament and service skills, with many years of service in the industry myself this was an wonderful experience. Also watching the otters was so much fun

The weekend couldn't have been better--from the gorgeous two-bedroom suite with loft to the attentive staff and views like none other. I was there for a "staycation" and friend's birthday and there was nothing I would have changed about our stay. Given this is one of the more luxurious hotels in Victoria, you would understand if the staff was a bit "stuffy" but that couldn't be further from the truth! Every individual we encountered was friendly, kind and intent on making our stay the best it possibly could be. Just the unbelievable surroundings would make you come back again and again...but honestly, the beautiful hotel and amazing staff are just as much of a draw. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and I definitely plan to return again myself! If you're planning a trip to Victoria, you should definitely make this a necessary part of your itinerary.
