Stayed here overnight (without a reservation.)What a clean room with a view! Everything was sparkling, beds more than comfortable, shower with great water pressure. There were a few things we thought somewhat odd but didn't take away from the niceness of the place...no microwave, we brought leftovers back and no way to quickly heat them up ( we did use... More

Clean and comfortable hotel - retro look! They totally pull it off! We were initially concerned about the traffic and noise due to horse carriages, cruise ship traffic and live music playing. Then, around 9 pm, everything quieted down and we had a fabulous sleep. In the morning the walk out the breakwater was heavenly. We will be back!

In this day of big box bland motels and hotels - what a delight to stay in a classic style room. I have walked, run and cycled past this place for years and finally had the time/opportunity to stay. The rooms are spotless, the king bed was "dreamy", the pink bathroom simply fun and the balcony views unparalleled in Victoria.... More

This motel is a little ways from the Inner Habour and downtown areas but we walked there and back daily. The rooms are very clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a fair bit of nosie from the road in front of the motel (Dallas Rd) that you can hear inside the rooms as the windows... More

I booked this place on the recommendation of a friend. I had never heard of it before, or even knew it existed! But what a find! You won't find a pool here, or any fancy bars or restaurants. But you do get, is amazing! We got there super early, knowing that our room would most likely not be ready. We... More

We stayed at the Surf in April 2016. It is an older Motel with so much character. All the suites have an ocean view and I believe a kitchenette. They are immaculately clean and cozy. The Motel is within walking distance of downtown Victoria (about 1.5kms). The rates are so reasonable too. Loved it and we are going back next... More

We have been coming from Alberta for a "fix of greenery" for over 9 years now. In Victoria, the Surf Motel has always been our first choice. It is privately owned with pride. It has kept it's retro feel in a spotless manner and offers an ocean view that can't be matched. It is well managed by Leslie, who exudes... More

Once again we enjoyed our stay here in this cosy place ,this time on the top floor with a magnificent view of the Juan de Fuca Straits , and all the joggers and walkers with their people going by- rain or shine.. As before Leslie and her staff gave us caring attention with clean linens and regular cleaning , and... More

This small family owned motel/hotel near the heart of Victoria's tourist district has a lot to like. It is a fully restored 60's era hotel with the 60's feel maintained. It has a functional little kitchenette for the cost conscious. The views are straight out across the strait to the Olympic Mountains and are gorgeous. The staff is very friendly... More
